This was the range that I went to for my firing range test when I was getting my CHL with Elite…read moreHandgun Academy. The location is really easy to get to from 635 and is actually pretty large. Although this was my first time at a firing range, I wish the firing stalls were a little farther apart or at least had more extended walls so that the shells didn't hit everyone because it made it hard to focus. However, I don't know whether or not this is normal but I felt very confident in the location and the safety equipment we used there! As soon as I try other locations I might update this review, from what I understand they also host their own classes here so definitely check them out!

I grabbed this class on a Groupon for a great rate and when I found out it was 10 hours of class I was dreading it, but it was actually so much fun. Unlike most CHL classes that I've heard about the instructor (Mark Payne) actually broke up the important facts and information that you really need to know with interesting stories, videos and clips to help demonstrate what he was talking about and help us all understand the importance of the information he was covering more quickly. Since I went to one of the all women's classes he came prepared with a large number of handguns that everyone could come up to the front and pick up to see how they feel. This was important because most of us had not purchased a gun yet (wanting to know how to use it first) and he took time to talk to each of us about what we might look for in a gun. He also brought fake bullets and allowed us all to practice loading a clip throughout the class so that by the end of the day when we went to take the firing range test we felt confident in loading the clip on our own. I can't say enough how FAST the day flew by, it's what we were all saying on every break and the information was so interesting and Mark was so funny (while still getting across how important it is) that it was very enjoyable. The firing range test was a little nerve-wracking but Mark and his family (who run the company together) are very good at helping you become comfortable and confident, even when firing for the first time! I know I would not have done as well without his help, and I definitely wouldn't have my CHL! If you're looking for a class, GO HERE, you won't regret it!

I had been talking about getting my LTC for a while now but I honestly didn't know when and how to start. So seeing this opportunity I instantly bought My ticket and waited anxiously. A little nervous because I've only shot a gun once, one time and no proper training. I wanted to be able to use a gun and protect myself when I needed too. In January 2020 someone tried to break into my home. I knew I needed a gun and training. When the class arrived we were all greeted and made feel welcome. The information Trent gave to us was very valuable. I really liked the way he was very calm and confidence in everything he said. He answered all the questions we had. Made us laugh and never over complicated things. His team was also great and knowledgeable. Once we made it to the range to go shoot. I was a little nervous but..... i was ready to shoot. He taught us how to load and empty , how to shoot, stand and aim. I am so very greatful for this class. I highly recommend this gun service to anyone. It's black owned too so support. It's a little parcel of land and I applaud the owners for providing an entrepreneurial service where they likely don't make a ton of money. I'm sure with some time and a little more income to expand / improve this will become even more popular. The class was held at a local restaurant/convenience store party room. It's handy, comfortable enough, the instructor has his act together and there is room for discussion, levity and conversation about self-defense, when to use force, when not to, when you can but should you etc... As it's attached to a convenience store, you've access to whatever you could possibly need and the bathrooms are clean!! (for you lady folk that may consider this). The range is a short 10 min drive and breaks up the middle of class and sets up nicely for a lunch break. As far as being "tea partiers" or whatnot, I take umbrage at that statement. Not a single person in our class (including the two ladies or instructor) gave off a "shoot first ask questions later vibe" or even anything political, aside from why we're all there to exercise our 2nd amendment rights. Shooing citizens away from firearms, safety, use of force and the very consistent message that deadly force is the last option makes me question the previous review and whether they actually attended this class or not. For the record, I'm a card carrying Libertarian and have zero to do with the "tea partiers". Epic fail bringing politics into firearm safety and carry / concealed instruction in the great state of Texas.

The class is in what looks like a Tuff shed filled with some really uncomfortable folding chairs. It's a bare-bones set up with apparently no heat and no A/C and only ONE toilet. The parking is across the highway so wear your running shoes to keep from getting mowed down to get into the building. The classes are quite large - ours was about 50 people. There are only 3 loaner guns so you should definitely bring your own. It had rained a couple of days before and the shooting range where we had to take our shooting test was a mud pit.

Range is adequate, but not fancy which is just fine with me. Guys in office were pleasant enough to deal with. I've been to the range two times now for two different shooting opportunities. Shotgun range is…read morelack luster and the throwers need some work. One of the throwers actually threw so badly left it hit a guy loading his thrower next to ours. Rifle range is fine but the way the range is run leaves something to be desired. Directions are limited and expected (outside of a 10 minute "range video"). Paper changes are limited to when they decide to make a call to ceasefire(roughly every 20-30mins). Also, if you're a male and have to use the bathroom, don't be caught dead inside trying to use the bathroom inside. No signs whatsoever that there's mens bathrooms outside on the range line but your expect to know that by a sign on the door that says women's. That's what you get for 50$ I suppose.
