Our wedding happened during the coldest weekend in NYC, and she had already thought through a plan to keep the food warm and everything running smoothly. She even surprised us by serving guests hot toddies while they waited to enter the ceremony, which was such a thoughtful and memorable touch. From start to finish, the entire process was seamless. The food, the staff, the organization--everything was top-notch. Olga made sure she connected with every vendor so everyone was aligned and nothing slipped through the cracks. She was very friendly and happily explained each dish and taught us a little about her country. Her booth was clean in a market full of clutter and hazard. There were several tables for seating and she mentioned they often host events; music and buffets there. Sadly we already had lunch but were tempted to get some of her mac and cheese with a twist for the road. She carefully bagged up our order with consideration of our long walk. Later that evening when hubby indulged he was impressed with the surprise of native seasoning she used on an otherwise traditional mac and cheese. Portion and price were good as well. She also let us sample her country's version of a carrot cake - less sweet and more like a bread than the carrot cake we are used to, but very moist and flavorful.

We booked a venue which she controls (colts neck, NJ) and told her we wanted her to cater. 2 weeks prior to the date we contacted her asking when she needed to know the catering details and she told us she wasn't catering. We have text messages proving that we told her she was, and that she agreed previously. After scrambling to find catering, she was extremely difficult with the whole venue. We were charged for linens, half of which had holes burned in to them or were extremely dirty - we asked for new ones or discounted (10 dollars per linen) and were told no. On the day of, the soda dispensers (the only thing that comes with the venue other than the space itself) were quite literally ALL out of syrup. It took an hour into the party for there to be any sodas, and by the time we got it running the guests complained about the sulfur smell/taste and I had to get soda delivered anyway. Throughout the whole process Joyce was extremely rude, forgetful, and short. I never write reviews...but this was such a horrendous experience that I feel I need to. Never book this company, ever.

New York Deaf Theatre is a non-profit that was celebrating their 35 year anniversary and I, as part of the fundraising committee, wanted to put together something classy, yet affordable, for the guests in attendance. From the beginning, Abigail was open and flexible in the planning. We devised a Plan A option of three hand passed appetizers and a Plan B option with two appetizers and a stationary table of fruits, veggies, dips and breads. As the event got closer to "opening night", Abigail was willing to work with the head count and budget to assess which plan we could put into effect. This is so rare in a caterer. Usually once something is down on paper there is no room for adjustment; however, in our case it was truly hard to predict how many people would be able to attend the event. Kind Table found a way to fit with us, not the other way around. What an asset! What a relief! Furthermore, the food itself was truly delicious and filling. We wanted to provide the guests with something interesting and flavorful but that also left them feeling satisfied. Kind Table delivered on every aspect of that. I just loved the olive tapenade! Everything had an air of sophistication with food pairings, and yet did not feel snobby or too upper crust. Additionally, Abigail was willing to adjust one of the appetizer options to literally cater to a guest with severe dietary needs.
