The draft beer and other HH specials are the main reason I'd return, especially to try the giant pretzel. But the vibe is meh, the music is loud and unappealing (is this a bar on a Friday evening or a club later that night?) It's probably a good spot to catch a game on one of multiple widescreen TVs, but HH with a group, not so much, unless you like to yell and strain to hear your friends over loud pop music that doesn't align with the visual aesthetic at all. read more

Came here for a drink. The entrance is right on Jericho Turnpike. You can park on the street or on the side streets. The bar is long and there is ample seating. You can also sit in one of the booths or at the tables in the back. We decided to sit at the bar, it was a busy Saturday night. We got our orders in right away. The bartenders are attentive so you won't be waiting to order even when it's busy. I tried the Hulk drink and the Lavendar spritz, both very good. My friend had her Gin and Tonic and Amaretto Sour. She really enjoyed them. We ate some wings and fries. Both very good. The fries were fresh and had the right amount of salt. Prices are average. Not bad at all. The first time I went to Elsie Lane was for my coworkers birthday. I had such a good time that I started coming back here often with my boyfriend and friends. Everyone that works here is so nice and the food here is sooo good!! I recommend the fiesta quesadilla, getting the bone in wings, and trying a burger! They have table service or you can sit at the bar. They play good music but you can also change to whatever music you want with the jukebox app (costs money). They have events Monday-Thursday: Monday: 50 cent wings 7pm-close Tuesday: Bingo night Wednesday: Trivia Night 8pm-10pm Thursday: DJ They have happy hour Mon-Fri 3pm-7pm. You can have parties here but it won't be a private party. They will reserve tables for you in the back next to the pool table. I orderered: Herricks Heat - a grilled chicken. Sandwich. It was dry, but flavorful. 3/5 The Elsie Sandwich - the flagship fried chicken sandwich containing only pickles and Elsie sauce. It was well seasoned, crunchy and moist. 4/5 The Spicy Jericho - the spicy version of the fried chicken sandwich. The heat comes from the buffalo sauce. It's offset by the cool lettuce, tomato and onion. 4/5 Wings - this was a big let down. Perhaps the worst wings I have had in a while. I ordered them "naked" to avoid excess breading. What I got was a bucket of fried wings that looked like they were over cooked or burned. The flavor and texture is similar to the wings on your Thanksgiving Turkey. What a find in New Hyde Park!!! We walked into this unassuming restaurant and were greeted with a fun dive-bar type feel, loud hip-hop/rap, and some great energy. We sat down and were served immediately. The service was impeccable the entire time. Everyone was quick and attentive. The wings here were SUPER good. I came with my friends on a Saturday night and there were no tables left inside so we decided to sit outside under their tent. Although it was chilly, they turned on the heater which helped but not enough for us to take off our jackets. The what the cluck chicken sandwich was also good but a bit on the dry side, definitely needed pickles to cut the fried chicken and mozz triangles. The wings were also some of the best I've had! They were pretty big and also very juicy but crispy on the outside. I like that they come unseasoned and we can just choose what sauces we wanted on the side. We got fries with the burgers but I found their fries to be just okay. They were thin, salty, and got cold fairly quick (since we were sitting outside too) but not bad. This restaurant has been doing some awesome activities during this period by donating dishes to the hospitals. As a result I decided to support the business by ordering lunch for delivery on Uber Eats. The order and delivery went very smooth and the quality of food was impressive. What's also awesome was they included their menu with the order so we can more stuff from them. Personally I would visit the place for happy hour because they have awesome deals. Anyways back to the food experience we ordered the Ox Burger. The burger was deceptively filling with an explosion of flavors and the fries were crispy. We also ordered Beef Taco Quesadilla which presented as 4 pieces which is personally enough for two days. I also loved the fact that the sauces were served separately and on the side. After reviewing the menu there are other dishes I would like to explore such as the Elsie Sampler, Uncle D burger and the Jericho Sandwich. Came here on Monday night at around 6:30 for wing night (50 cents wings). Food: we ordered the wings, they came with a variety of sauces. We got BBQ, The Elsie sauce and the Asian Garlic. All there were pretty good. The Elsie sauce was like a mild chipotle sauce. The wings were AMAZING! They are cooked to perfection and they are perfect with the sauce on the side. We also got a side of fries which were the ideal portion. The mozzarella triangles were delicious even without dipping them in the sauce. Drinks: they have happy hour specials with $6 wells, $5 wine. Their specialty drinks however seem to be the highlight of this place. I highly recommend the PINK drink, it's a bit sweet but so delicious. The vibe: this bar has the perfect vibe for everyone. You can sit down have dinner, just have a calm relaxing drink at the bar, or hang out in the back by the pool table and other games. They also have Bingo night on Tuesdays. The service here is also outstanding. Our bartender for the night was Mike and he was awesome. He was super attentive, friendly and of course made great drinks. Herd about this pub in my town and wanted to try it. Found a Groupon on line and went with my wife and 2 daughters. Upon entering it was a typical bar with booths and a table in the rear, with a pool table and darts. We were welcomed by the bartender immediately and sat us at a booth. Our waiter came over, gave us menus and a beer menu. Wasn't too extensive but a nice selection. We ordered the Schofferhofer for 3 of us but they only had enough left on tap for one. I guess that happens. My wife and I let our daughter have it and we ordered the Shipyard, a little bitter for me but I'm not relay a beer drinker so I'm sure it was fine, my wife liked it. My other daughter ordered a sprite. For dinner we had the Big Rich Burgers with Cheddar Cheese, Applewood Smoked Bacon topped with buttermilk slaw and barbecue sauce and fries to go with our beers. Didn't know how this combination would be but is was awesome. A great combo. My other daughter had the Mac and Cheese. Also very good. All our food came out in a timely manor and was hot. We were all had enough to eat and were full. Our waiter came over couples of times to see if all was ok. He was very polite, friendly and efficient. I'm glad we found this place and gave it try, it's always nice to have a good pub in town to grab a bite and a drink or just hang at the bar. Having worked in a pub in lower Manhattan for a long time and frequenting other pubs as well, I've always longed for somewhere casual with good food near my home town of Bellerose. My dad and I were craving a burger and a pint of Guinness, and we were presently surprised by Elsie Lane. We were greeted by the friendly staff as soon as we entered. Really loved how the walls were lined with cool bar paraphernalia instead of the standard dusty old growlers and pints. Best part was there wasn't that intimidating air you get in some of the older traditional pubs (and I tend to get that a lot since I look like a young dude). We ordered the mushroom and onion burger and it was the juiciest burger I've had in a long time. It paired perfectly with an ice cold Guinness on tap. Plus the fries are definitely something to write home about as well, because I still can't stop thinking about them. Let's set the scene, it's Superbowl Sunday and my friend is in need of getting out of the house. So we walk down to Elsie Lane, swing open the doors and are greeted by the sweet aroma of fresh wood. That's how new this place still is, and will likely still feel upon coming back. Its decor is a mixture of intentionally unfinished wood and modern bar - think subway tiles and Edison lights. It's kind of got a rustic-nautical theme peppered in as well. We planted ourselves at the bar and took control of the menus placed before us. We quickly became engrossed in our conversation, so each time the bartender came over to ask if we were ready - we were, in fact, not, as we had only so much as peeped at it. The menu is a small selection and I went with the fennel salad as I can't really have too much bar food. Plus I had already eaten dinner at this point. I ordered a white wine spritzer, cause responsibilities y'all, and we were happy to munch away and watch the game. The bartender was really nice and came over to chat at times when he wasn't busy, genuinely just interested and seeing how we were doing. They have a pinball machine, darts and a pool table in the back as well as some long tables good for groups.
