First off, I'm a Kansas City Ball and nothing beats my hometown BBQ. This place does have decent ribs, etc. I think they use a rub on the meat but it is just not cutting it or they do not leave it on long enough as it imparts no flavor. Me becomes easily off the bone but it's still chewy in parts. The KC red sauce is forgettable, and if you've ever had authentic KC barbecue sauce you know that is a major unforgettable part. They have a nice selection of different foods on the menu, and the sides are pretty good for the most part. Service is very good and the food came out quite quickly. Went on a Saturday night as a party of 2 - there were some empty tables but were sat at the bar (which was fine but confusing because some of the tables remained empty). We got a few things to share so I was able to try - SIDES: fries, mash, mac & cheese, corn bread - MEATS: pulled pork, porchetta, pulled chicken and brisket. Overall the food was good - everything was well seasoned and over-all the meat had great smoke flavor, and tender without being mush. I wish the brisket was a bit tender-er but overall no regrets and will probably be back for more. It's a small dining area with a bar, definitely gives off barbecue vibes! They have a separate side to order takeout which I thought was really cool. We started with chips and guacamole, which was tasty. For entrees we ordered two different sampler platters, a chicken gyro and a falafel gyro sandwich. Two of our entrees came out five minutes before the others, which wasn't great because that food cooled down before we got the others. One of the platter came with an incorrect side, but the server let me keep the wrong item as well as correcting the order so that was nice! I'm pretty sure they forgot our fries because I had to ask for them about 5 minutes after we got all the rest of our food. That's the reason for the 4 stars. The sampler platters were delicious, the pulled chicken and brisket were shredded and seasoned, the bratwurst had a nice snap to it. The mac and cheese was nice and cheesy, the coleslaw could use a little salt, the baked beans were good. There were two sauces on the table, one was a bbq sauce, a bit thin for my taste but delicious, the other I'm not sure if it was a Carolina gold situation? But it tasted more like honey mustard. If you're in the mood for barbecue it's worth checking out, but maybe opt for take out. read more

Been to Smok-Haus a number of times to dine in as well as take out. Their take out section is on the Franklin Avenue side of the building. You can also get there from the parking lot by walking through the dine in area and past the bathroom. You can either order ahead using the app or order in person. The dine in area has an entrance from the back lot which has plenty room for parking. The dine in area can get busy depending on timing. There is table seating as well as seats by the bar. Some of our favorite go tos are the Mac Daddy starter to share. It's their macaroni and cheese with cherry peppers and bits of smoked bacon. Great on its own being creamy, cheesy and a good kick of heat, but you can also opt to add a meat on top to make it a hearty meal. We also go for the smoked wings which have a unique flavor and texture. We love the dry rub option which has a nice sweet touch that goes well with the smoke flavor. The wings are served with an Alabama white barbecue sauce which is something not to skip on. The tacos are also great. They are really packed with fillings and flavors. The smoked shrimp and el Greco chicken tacos are my go tos. Looking forward to returning soon. read more

The food here is so good. We tried the wings, tacos, and cornbread, and everything was delicious. The Nashville hot wings were especially flavorful, and the Baja Fish taco was amazing. The Cucumber Gimlet ended up being my favorite drink. We sat at the bar, and Yanni was a fantastic bartender--super friendly and helpful. Kevin also stopped by and made some nice small talk, which added to the experience. The place has a casual, adorable vibe that makes it easy to relax and enjoy your time. Quite literally the best place service experience I've ever had when it comes to food service, the servers are super nice and amazing. They're very personal without being too chatty. The food came out in like 2 mins and they were SUPER quick on refills and napkins etc. We had a good conversation about something on my shirt I was wearing and the food was amazing I had the pulled pork sandwich. Also the Mac and cheese had a spice in it I didn't really like it didn't ruin my experience one bit. I didn't even know this place was here. Found them online when I was in the area. I wasn't even in the mood for BBQ until it popped up on my search for lunch. Anyway, I went with the half rack with Mac and cheese and slaw. The food came out real quick. I also tried their unsweetened raspberry and peach iced tea. The tea was ok. The flavor wasn't the best. The ribs were fine. However, not fall off the bone good. I liked their BBQ sauce, I did not love their sauce though. Mac and cheese was pretty good. Overall their food was good but not great. Maybe next time I'll try their brisket. When I have BBQ I want the food to hit me. I wanna feel the smoke. I want it to be so good I'd order more for the next day... This was not that... I was wanting to check this place out for a while now as pass it all the time. I came to try to order take out during Fathers Day weekend and placed a few orders on the kiosk. Waited a few minutes then was told by the person at the counter that the kiosk was not supposed to be taking orders as it was busy and a holiday weekend. I waited for a refund. Thought to myself well that's annoying and moved on. Then decided to try the dine in experience. Came on a Saturday evening and ordered a variety of things to taste test. Server wasn't very nice but we moved past it and figured it was just busy and she had a long day. Food is okay. We ordered the dry rub rack of ribs, pulled chicken salad, pulled pork sliders and bratswurst. Will start with the ribs which were overcooked and burnt black on the bottom. We had a few pieces that we deemed not edible and tossed to the side. Pulled chicken and pork were tasty. The salad was okay...what you would expect from a basic salad - iceberg lettuce, cucumber and tomato. The bbq twist was the pulled chicken, corn and black beans. My brother in law and I ordered old fashions which we agreed were a little too sweet. Like I mentioned, we've eaten there I believe twice before. We were a bit underwhelmed by the food this time. The pulled pork and chicken were both pretty tasty when adding the KC sauce. The Carolina gold had a mustard flavor. Wasn't bad just didn't really hit the mark for us. The best option from the sides were the baked beans and maybe the coleslaw . This place was very disappointing. They advertise free refills, but after my husband finished his drink, no one came back to offer a refill. Servers kept passing our table and checking on others, but never once asked if we were okay or needed anything. Customer service really makes a difference, and we felt completely overlooked the entire time. To make matters worse, the food did not sit well with us at all -- we were both sick for two days afterward. Many options on the menu but we decided on the samplers: double play or triple play based on the number of proteins (limited to pulled chicken, pulled pork, bratwurst or chopped brisket (+$2); can't double up on same protein). Served on a tray which made it look sparse. Bbq meats were good for me, tasty and not salty (usually too salty for me at other places). Prefer brisket not chopped though. Came with 2 sides (each serving was a bit small) and cornbread. We happened to be there during their BestofLI deal and got their pBLT to-go for only $10 each. Had only half but that was a satisfying sandwich - the thick slice of smoked pork belly with a sliver of fat. Yumm. Service was great- friendly and very helpful. Went for lunch today and was happy to find out it was taco Tuesday and all tacos were $5 so I tried the Korean bbq, Baja fish, and el Greco tacos. They were all so yummy and I was able to sample the brisket and pulled pork. My husband had ribs which were delicious! His two sides were great as well. The services was fast and friendly and I used my rewards for 15% off our bill. We left feeling really satisfied and I'm looking forward to going back again soon read more
