Came to watch soccer with my sister In law who is a regular. I'm from California but have been here before. Neil was absolutely amazing, made my drink perfect, was attentive to everyone at the bar and even my girls who sat behind us and brought them a game to play. My potato pancakes (with syrup) were great! We ordered other items and no complaints at all. See ya next time we come back

The ambiance here is casual, is a typical bar, German energetic and red all over the walls. The players on TV were wearing red, and our Kerchup on the table match it all too. (Check my video, not lying to you). We got the Bavarian pretzel, gigantic hot and great. Our waitress is being kind and professional, we are still here while writing this review for one good reason, the music, the music here is right on target rock old hits. Food ? Wonderful.. we got chicken schnitzel, I can't pronounce the one my husband got, worst write that down, but it was veal, and great too. Pssst! Liz our waitress told us a secret, come here on the night on the 22nd of December, and find out what it is happening here that night.

Great assortment of German wursts, beers on tap, and other German fare (weinerschnitzl, sauerbraten, and pat la Frieda burgers) in a friendly and lively environment. They have 3 large tables in the front and another in the back, and there are always games playing or live music in the air. It's close to the train so we love going with the kid to drink some Hefeweizen and watch the trains go by. They have trivia nights on Tuesdays and are surprisingly family friendly overall.

Lovely little Bavarian restaurant serving up great lagers and wursts. Great vibe and relatively mature crowd.

This is what I left. Just awful!

If you're going to charge top dollar, you should have better food. $15 for a pretzel that was hard as a rock. The $30 saurbraten had canned red cabbage (its really not hard to make this fresh), some kind of dough ball made from a mix, and 4 slices of pot roast in spiced gravey. The meat was also hard as a rock. It needed to marinate a good deal longer. They only get 2 stars because the wait staff was good. The decor is just bizarre, and the food, substandard.

Came here for my sister in law's birthday. Sadly though as I am German I'm definitely more Italian and love that type of food way more lol. My mom on the other hand was so jealous we came here and would have had a field day here. Anyway the food wasn't bad, my hubs who loves everything had the time of his life. My son who I guess feels the same way I do was like eh. Not that the place was bad, it's just not our type of food lol. Nice place though and it's great if you want actual German food. I had the burger and it was good. My son took a few bites of his pretzel so hey at least he ate that much.

The food was poor at best. Nothing tasted like real German food - oh perhaps the over priced pretzel.

Prost! Best Spot all year round for: catching a local band, watching sports on a giant screen…read more(tented), celebrating Oktoberfest, and more. This place is the things you'd want in an outdoor Beer garden - casual eats in the Brat Haus and beers on tap. Not to mention the in-house private event space that does have air conditioning. Perfect for parties of 20-700! Says it on the website and I wouldn't have believed it until I saw it myself. This review is for The Hive restaurant specifically since that's where I had my meal. A beautiful bar with a Stein wall with lockers for patrons who wish to store them - you see that just past the host station. The indoor dining room just beyond. We started with the Wurst Sampler Platter. Think bratwurst, knackwurst, krainerwurst, and jalapeno cheddar bratwurst. I had no idea there were so many varieties and it was paired with the best potato salad I've ever had. Authentic and delicious sauerkraut to match. Also ordered the House-Cured Slab bacon, paired with a blackberry gastrique. Excellent choices I must say. For dinner, we just had to try the Schnitzel. Admittingly, it was hard to decide (all were veal options and there was one chicken option)! I chose the Champignon Rahmschnitzel and hubby got the Jager Schnitzel. Both were topped with sauce and mushrooms - but entirely different. The Rahmschitzel was breaded veal and had a white creamy mushroom sauce. So delicious! And the Jager one was pan-seared veal with a demi-glace sauce. Outstanding as expected...I was literally drooling at every plate that passed me by. Topped my meal with some hard cider and I was golden. Stuffed and happy! Plattduetsche Park is so rich in history and they have established roots in the community going back 100+ years (established in 1901). What a fantastic place to be - come for the great cuisine and the culture. No special occasion needed. (Reservations suggested for The Hive restaurant - opens daily starting at 3PM). BTW, the Ompahfest (festival) is on Sept. 20th, 2026. Zum Wohl!

We were shoulder to shoulder to each other. I had to straddle a table leg because of the way the table was set up. I could not get my chair under the table. There was barely any room for our plates and glasses. Even though it was a Mother's Day event, there was not a kids' menu- which makes no sense bc you know kids will be at this event! Two of our dishes had to be sent back because they were cold. It's nice that they hire the local kids and the service was good. Overall, just a bad experience. I do not think we will come back for a special holiday again.

Anyway, we're glad we got in here for an early bird dinner with our three kiddos (and no wait either!) I have to say the wurst platter and jagerschnitzel entrees were both solid, and we added in a tasty bowl of flavorful French onion soup, huge Bavarian pretzel and a couple of potato pancakes to the mix. Service and ambiance was cozy and friendly, and they were nicely decorated for Christmas too. Even though we only went once, thank you for being a staple in our community for 40+ years!

Food and service did not disappoint and the restaurant was well-decorated for Christmas too :) Yes, meals are a bit on the pricier side but portions are generous and (as someone who LOVES German food), I have to say the jagerschnitzel and sauerbraten were spot on! We started off with the obligatory Bavarian pretzel, which is cooked to order and easy to share around for a family of four. We also ordered a bowl of their onion soup which had a surprisingly flavorful broth and was delicious down to the very last scoop. It was a nice departure from some variants where once you pierce through the top cheese layer, you're eating boring beef broth. I wish the family well (believe they're retiring and trying to sell the business) and maybe keep my fingers crossed new owners will keep up the German cuisine!

I had a group dinner here for my parents and my boyfriend's mother to meet for the first time. This is perhaps not the perfect location for this type of thing, as it was extremely loud in the restaurant. Despite being very busy, the hostess made sure we had a comfortable table to sit at and were not too cramped. As expected, the beer selection is great and I enjoyed my Berliner Weisse very much. I ordered the goulash and kasespaetzle. The goulash was rich, well seasoned and filling. The spaetzle was soft and creamy, covered in lots of flavorful aged cheese with salty bacon bits and sweet onion. A very rich dish. Although I didn't technically order an entree, I still found myself pleasantly full at the end of the meal. The rest of my dining companions ordered either the schnitzel or the wurstplatte. All seemed very pleased with their food, and some even had leftovers to bring home due to large portions. This restaurant is certainly a fun spot to come, reservations recommended. There's a reason they've been open for so long.

We started off with appetizers- which are really great for sharing- perogies for the Hubby and I had the liver dumpling soup- both were fantastic. Hubby had the German mixed salad with his meal, the special was sausage with both chicken and pork Schnitzel and potatoes, I had the sauerbraten with potatoes and we both had a side of the sauerkraut. We took a To-Go of the stuffed chicken breast with mozzarella and spinach and soup, with broccoli and an order of perogies. 2 Root beers, and he had the apple strudel and I ordered the Bienenstich. Our server was Karen- I want to give a huge thank you to her, she was an absolute delight, sweet, friendly and made sure our dinner was perfect, she is wonderful and next time we come for dinner, we hope she is our waitress. Food was incredible, I have not had "family" style German food in probably 13 years if not longer- I used to eat all the time at Alpine Village in Torrance Ca and at Phoenix Club in Brea Ca- both I was a long time foodie at, and never had a bad meal! It is so great to know that Sebastian's is our new place for delicious German food. Dinner for the 3 was roughly $180.00, but before you say "that's a lot", the food is delicious, the wait staff is amazing and both my husband and I gladly pay good money for fantastic food, like what we had here at Sebastian's.
