I panicked when another hairstylist I had made an appointment with had to cancel because he was very sick. Between work and school I have little time to schedule a cut and color and my next available time would be in December...and my roots were making a marked appearance. Eman was recommended by the sick hairstylist and I walked into the appointment with a bit of trepidation because I had no idea what to expect. Eman was so personable. His space was clean and he patiently listened to me while I listed off a somewhat nebulous idea of what I wanted to do with my hair. My instructions: keep length, more layers, side swept bangs...hair with swing and sass...red hair color appropriate for work. Without me having to provide a picture of exactly what I wanted...because...well....I didn't even know EXACTLY what I wanted... he went to work. Though I have asian hair, my hair definitely has some odd cowlicks and waves. He used various techniques to shape my hair and even after I washed my hair and let it air dry, my hair still has a defined style to it. The color is definitely multifaceted. I found Eman from the wonderful Yelp reviews he received. I was DESPERATE to get my hair trimmed especially since my hair was lacking style/luster and my next scheduled appointment with my hair stylist wasn't for another two weeks! I don't know about you, but I feel a sense of cheating when I have to go to someone else after having a relationship with your current hair stylist for the past 17 years! Needless to say, I loved my cut/trim. Eman listened when I told him what I was looking for and he "kicked it up a notch". He even suggested that we add some curls since I had a holiday party to attend that evening and took the extra time we needed to make me look purty. The trim was simple but added dimension and layers to my hair which added volume (which I so needed). The curls stayed throughout he night and I loved the look. But the true test is when you go home and wash your hair and try to style it the way you normally do - does it work? YES! I love the layers that Eman made and how it frames my face. He is artistic and knows what works. Definitely a go to person in my future (I'll have to see about intertwining my hair appointments between him and my regular gal :)). I first met Eman at every 6 weeks. I said i wanted a bit of a change...maybe bangs? i was a little scared since i hadn't had bangs since the 80's. Eman is the the best! I had my first haircut with him yesterday and I just fell in love. I've been bouncing around hair places from cheaper Asian salons to more higher end ones. I have really straight Asian hair that tends to be flat and I have the worst time finding a place where they understand my hair. Eman knows how to handle hair.
