My plan was to do the premium haircut and beard package. When I saw my friend later on that day he had shaved his head bald (F%#ck)! I immediately messaged Mikey and explained the situation. He was understanding and agreed to just do the premium beard package. It was late at night when we got there. Mikey was very accommodating and chill as hell! This place is basically a spa for men. He had a facial, scalp massage, hot towel, face steam, and beard trim. Mikey took his time and was precise with the services, because we had extra time in our booked time slot since we were no longer doing the haircut. When the process was over, my friend was very much pleased. 20+ years of friendship and I had never seen him smile so big. To this day, he's still talking about how good the whole experience was. I have received brading services from taylor with Tay Creations ( stockton braider) on numerous occassions. She is a bit slow but could be because she is VERY detailed when it comes to her stitich work / craft. I am giving her three stars because the last time I tried to book with her, she canceled my appointment with no explanation. I asked her what was going on via text and Instagram and she just failed to respond or even re-book me for another day. Since then, I have tried to book and she is still not responding and/or returning texts. I can only chop it up to the last time she did my 4 braids, the center part was not even -- making my braids appear to be bulkier on one side as opposed to the other. I mentioned it to her, prior to leaving and she did what she could but it wasn't on bad terms or anything. Needless to say, I have no reason why she is non responsive to me, when she is clearly active on social media and to others . I have heard from other customers that she has done this to them as well as has been rude. I think it is really unprofessional. read more

I walked by so many other shops that I should have gone to. Way cleaner. Much better environments. Overall, extremely disappointed. My beard trim was so horrible I shaved it off. My son's haircut is one of the worst cuts he's had in years. Seeing his hair up in a bun today, I saw the cut and had to share. This was supposed to be a highlight of our first father and son trip. We flew in for a Warriors game and I wanted to treat us to a great experience as I assumed it would be based on the web site and reviews. Nope. Emailed a detailed request, got a response a week later with words of encouragement that my requests could be handled. I wanted a straight razor shave with beard trim, line up w fade and Afro trim for my mixed son with facials for us both. Another week goes by and still no response. So I called the shop. The owner whom I was emailing with apparently was on vacation. Since I read the reviews and my son was excited, I decided to book with the barber whom answered the phone. He assured me my son would be taking care of but the shop doesn't offer a blade shave and facial as advertised on their website. Welp. The kid who booked us is a rookie with only 2 years under his belt. And it showed. I really feel bad for my son. His cut is crap. Chris always does an amazing job. What makes him unique? He's caring, kind, accommodating, provides a luxurious, relaxing experience, is on time, is communicative and has reasonable rate. He's very detailed and takes his time which I love. He's done my husband's hair as well as mine! Better than I expected, and my expectations were already high. Chris is hands down one of the best barbers in the Bay Area. Put it like this, I was FORTUNATE to have been able to book on a random and rare open time slot on Monday. I definitely recommend Chris. I was walking to my car and received two compliments upon leaving the shop (right hand to the sky) It's a crime to call Dapper Down Barber lounge a "barber shop" it is a whole different experience from the time you walk in the door. The customer service and ambiance of the space let you know immediately this is not your typical shop experience. Had booked an appointment with Bryce the barber and would have loved to give this place 5 stars but unfortunately got cancelled on the day of my son's appointment, that he was really looking forward to. I get that things come up as I am in the same industry but what really irritated me is that he texted me to reschedule and never even bothered answering my texts back. As a first timer this barbershop, the experience was great! The haircut I got was very well done and had a touch craftsmanship from the barber Solo. When requesting a appointment through Yelp, the store owner replied within minutes and got me booked for the same day. When I arrived the staff was very friendly and even offered drinks!
