I'd been to see Morris and Maria with a few different friends' significant others (soon to be fiancés!) and knew that when it was my turn to get engaged I would come right back! This past weekend was the time and I was very excited to share the process with my boyfriend (now fiancé!). I've seen the gamut while helping friends shop for engagement rings here. One knew exactly what his future-wife wanted, but needed a little help learning about the diamond 4c's verbiage, what a European shank was, etc. Maria assisted us in exploring different center stones for him to choose from, and I got to try on lots of beautiful sparkly things while he pretended I was his lady and visualized proposing. A different friend wasn't sure what her girlfriend wanted at all and we took a couple hours really exploring every option available (center stone vs no center stone; halo; different diamond cuts; different band types; whether the ring should be part of a set to include a wedding band; the list. goes. on.). In all cases Maria was lovely, asking questions along the way to guide the ring-buyer to a perfect choice. Personally, I knew I wanted to pick out my ring and sidestep any guy-on-one-knee scenarios, so my significant other and I went to Emanuel together to look. I did not want a center stone or the typical engagement ring, but I make decisions pretty quickly so we were in and out within 20 minutes with a lovely ring that didn't break the bank. Maria applauded my loyalty by giving me a nice break on the price, though really everything here is VERY well priced for the quality you're getting (one ring that a friend bought was appraised for 100% more than he paid!). I cannot say enough praise for Morris and Emaneul Jewelry Design. From our first communication to the final engagement ring, Morris has been extremely professional, kind, courteous and overall he far exceeded my expectations. As a designer, I'm very particular about how I wanted the ring to look. Not only the setting, but even for the diamond itself I had very specific requirements on cut, color, clarity, carat, depth and table percentages, symmetry, polish to name a few parameters (as well as it being GIA certified). Morris was able to find the exact stone I was looking for. When it came to the setting, I was admittedly a difficult client to say the least. He sent me CAD drawings of the setting and patiently listened to the constant texts and calls I had on feedback. Out of pure luck my hubby and I stumbled upon this booth out of the thousands of booths in the jewelry district and I've been back 3 times since with friends. Combined, we've purchased over 10 carats worth of diamonds and we know we're getting the best price! Do yourself a favor and stop here first for all your jewelry needs. Maria and her family are very nice and accommodating. I got a ring with multiple diamonds and didn't like one of the diamonds so they switched it out for me... Then I decide I wanted it resized because it was a little too big and they did that too all right there without a single frown. The ring BTW is bigger and probably 5 times shiner than my Tiffany ring and a fraction of the cost. The owner, Morris Emanuel, was very patient, helpful, and professional with us. He answered all of our questions and provided us with so much insight on diamonds. Two hours and several GIA-certified diamonds later, we left with a new found knowledge of the 4 Cs. It also now makes selecting the perfect diamond that much more interesting and difficult. He has several good quality diamonds in stock and if you would like something else he can definitely help you find it.
