It's become a gambler's paradise, a parking spot for the Richmond Night Market, and a hotel resort for visitors like yours truly. Now I can say I'm officially part of the latter. Things I liked:. * The price ($150USD a night) for a 1 BR suite. While prices fluctuate for any property, River Rock still has inventory when other competing hotels don't. Plus, the prices during the week are going to be one's best bet. * The bed: Who doesn't love a good comfy bed? The rooms are spacious without being too stuffy. Even the sofa bed was decent, a rarity for couch beds. * Casino: Slots are everywhere, but the table game action is solid, especially given the late night crowd. It's hard to resist the idea of playing Free Bet Blackjack, which allows one to double down and split with no risk. The catch though is that 22 is a push. * The pool: This is no ordinary hotel pool. If anything, it's reminiscent of a resort pool with different levels, and is perfect for the youngins to enjoy some water sports. There are so jacuzzis and a huge water slide, and rock tunnel. Add to the views around Richmond and it's a fun daytime activity. Things I didn't love: * West Tower Elevator has been out for close to a month. This leaves only one elevator in operation. And it's a slow elevator. * Despite getting a suite, it felt dated. The carpet was dark, much of the room's furniture looked worn, and there weren't enough outlets. * The long walk from the hotel to the parking garage. It's a hike. It's even more of an issue with the older folks walking gingerly back to hotel. * The garage parking lot elevator and stairs often smell like urine. (#2) ___________ (#1) First to review. (#2) For the person last in the elevator: Urine luck.

Place is always clean, I even bring my blacklight to check. Since I have asthma and allergic to feathers, the staff makes sure everything is feather free before I check in. Twice already I was given complimentary upgrade. Front desk is always high in customer service. I don't gamble, but went I walk across the casino to get to the parking area or night market, there's no smoke whatsoever. I just found out they are pet friendly. And so is the night market. So next time we bring the fur babies. Not to mention their outstanding spa. I'll write that review on their own page. Also compared to the other hotels in the area, the price is pretty decent.

Our Condo was well located in Downtown Vancouver, and easily walkable to Stanley Park, the West End, Gas Town, and places in-between. The Condo also had a nice view of the skyline and a nice living room to relax and take it all in. The unit was also clean and well appointed. There were a few "negatives": 1. The pool and gym require a walk over to the nearby Sheraton. We also found that with Uber, it's best to go over to Sheraton for pickup and drop off as the algorithm can't seem to comprehend 1080 Hornby Street. 2. Even with AC within this hot Vancouver week, the Condo was stuffy and required multiple fans to help with overall comfort. 3. This Condo had no balcony or other outdoor hangout option, other than finding a local park.

It was a quick check in and we were early but a room was ready. There are a few snacks for purchase, water refill, and tourist brochures. We headed down the ramp and towards the two elevators. For all the floors in the buildings, the elevators were pretty quick. We made our way to the 23rd floor to our apartment style hotel that we would be staying at for the next 5 nights. We entered and there was a washer and dryer, and a large closet that had the broom and a fan. I think the safe was also in the closet. The kitchen space was great to have a full sized fridge, stove, coffee maker, and lots of pots and pans and utensils. This was very convenient as we went to get groceries for breakfast every day. The seating area had a tv, and counter place for when we ate. It wasn't big and there was no dining table but it was sufficient. There was also a temperature control in this space. Both bedrooms were spacious with one having large windows with great views of downtown. The other room had a small window. There were 2 bathrooms, and one that was in the area of the smaller bedroom. The other bathroom was spacious. There's a parkade and it's secure requiring the room key to enter and exit, and also enter the elevator. We didn't have an issue to find a parking space during our stay. During our stay, they were were accommodating when we requested more coffee, paper towels, and laundry pods. The only complaints I have were that it could get noisy from all the sirens in the night, and that our bedroom could get cold at night. Otherwise, everything about this place was great! There's a games room with a ping pong table, pool table, and many books. The location was also great and convenient to be downtown.

But it's an experience akin to "fawlty towers" staying here. amateur. messy. horrible service. be prepared to tidy up after others if you wish to lay poolside, use the one fire pit or request a kayak. this is an expensive non luxury experience. I've stayed at Travelodge and Airbnb that were better at a fraction of the price. and for what is available in this area, it's not that special. special callout goes to the atrocious front desk staff. second runner up is the housekeeping that took three separate visits to clean the room yet still didn't provide towels or coffee. and when something broke in the room it took three calls and over an hour to get a simple repair done. This is a beautiful quaint little family run oasis on Mitchell Bay. There are hotel style rooms, and private cabins. We stayed in a private cabin on the waterfront for our anniversary this year. The cabins are stunning. Everything was super clean. You have a full kitchen and appliances should you want to cook, even equipped with a BBQ outside! There's a small living space, and the bathroom felt like a luxury spa! The shower had pebbled floorings which were so nice. The bedroom was cozy and comfortable and not to mention pitch black which was amazing for sleep! We slept with all windows open at night and slept great with the cool air and again I can't stress enough how quiet the property is. My favorite part is the windows at the front looking at the water and the little sitting nook by the kitchen. I sat there or in the chairs out front for most of our trip just admiring the water and stillness. So pretty! There's a little greenery area for sitting, play lawn games, or fire pits for smores. They also have kayaks and paddle boards for use during the day which was a nice amenity. They also have a general store and coffee shop on property with everything you might need. My favorite part is their water system that's fully treated and maintained by them. Because of it the shower water is so soft and serene, and the drinking water is amazing straight from the tap! This was a 10/10 stay from top to bottom, and we already can't wait to come back!

Check-in was done at the lobby. At the lobby one will also find a store and a coffee shop. Complimentary movies and games can also be checked out at the lobby to enjoy back at your lodging. The store offers a little bit of everything, from clothing to snacks. Complimentary ice machines are available. Bagged ice can be purchased though. Lower-level parking is limited and was completely full in the evenings. We were lucky enough to get a parking spot every time we returned from playing. Wheel barrel type carts located at the gate make transporting luggage effortless to rooms. Adirondack chairs are scattered about the edge of the property to enjoy sipping a beverage, reading or admiring the view. A fire-pit, community BBQ, picnic area and kids play area help pass the time while on-site. The paly area is at the lobby end for those who do not wish to have quarters near noise. The cabin we were given was number 10, a handicap unit. The very first cabin upon entrance and the furthest from the lobby and play area. Our cabin was clean and well equipped. Snug Harbor provided us the peace that we were seeking at the time. My one suggestion would be to offer fresh baked chocolate chip cookies in the lobby to establish a more personal touch.
