We had a great time at Ember and really enjoyed the food and overall experience. The atmosphere and quality were solid, and we spent over $200 for three people, so it definitely felt like a nice night out. That's why it was a little frustrating that simple side swaps felt so rigid. My daughter's meal came with fries and she wanted mashed potatoes instead, but there was a $7 upcharge just to switch it. It honestly felt a bit excessive given the price of the meal overall. It's not that we didn't enjoy the restaurant -- we did. But that kind of nickel-and-diming on something small like a side swap takes away from what should feel like a smooth, high-end dining experience. We'd probably go back, but it would be nice if there was a little more flexibility with basic substitutions, especially on kids' meals.

Date night with the family was set for 7pm. We were welcomed and sat. Our server introduced herself and had us set up with water. Location is big, but intimate. Lights were dim, music matched the tone. We had a blast trying 3 appetizers, and 3 main courses and 3 desserts. Everything was 10/10 and then some. Forgot to take a pic of the main course

Eaten here at least 5 times, and 4/5 were amazing. Had some miscommunication my last time but I'll still be back. Also try the Old Fashioned, the best in SC. The service is always great too.

Customer Service: 5 Ambience: 5 Location/ Parking: 5 Cleanliness: 5 Affordability: 3 Quality of food: 3 Reservations: Yes Overall dining experience: 3 Ember is the newest steak restaurant in Lexington. They were participating in restaurant week. Its situated on main street in Lexington, SC. The decor is a stunning mix of luxury and modernity. Many of the tables provide a clear view of the chefs working in the kitchen. Highly recommend having reservations, as this restaurant stays very busy and isn't that large to handle walk ins. The menu offers a wide variety of delicious and mouthwatering starters and main courses that will appeal to everyone. My spouse and I had their lobster soup and kale salad, their 20oz USDA prime ribeye steak ($70.00) which came with potatoe puree and local farm vegetables. They also have a full bar that offers popular cocktails, wines beers, etc. We also ordered a side of their mac and cheese ($13.00) along with a lobster pasta ($21.00), we wanted to try them as well. Our overall dining experience was just average as our ribeyes had alot of fat on them (see pic). Our steaks were cooked as requested medium well. The waitress had us verify it when they brought it to our table. The mac and cheese was watery and was not seasoned very well. The broiled lobster tail was pasta with a few pieces of lobster. We felt like it was overpriced at $21. Ember Steak House Lexington is very expensive like a Michelin Star restaurant. The cost was approximately $250 for 2 adults to dine there. I highly recommend customers preview their menu beforehand. Everything we ate was a little under seasoned. Lastly, the customer service was excellent and our waitress was very friendly and professional. She also went the extra mile to acknowledge our anniversary, by informing the restaurant manager who delivered two glasses of champagne to our table. Overall dining experience was nice, but we're hoping that the management reviews our experience and takes some considerations to a few our experience/feedback. I will them again in the near future, hopefully our experience will be a bit better. @noirvedanaturals

I truly don't even know how to start....... THIS PLACE IS AMAZING!!!!!! The customer service is over the top right there I would return....... I ordered the ribeye rare and OH MY GOD!!!!! Cooked perfect with tons of flavor, you must get it with the shareable mashed potatoes and lobster and the garlic mushrooms. You literally could cut the steak with a fork it soooooooooo tender!!!!! Wife ordered the pork chop which is a heritage breed, Durock. So flavorful so juicy and tender! Our whole experience here was over the top and worth every penny!!!! Our waiter Ford, have to give him a shout out, haven't had this good of service in a long time. He was talkative and explained all of the food choices. I seriously can't wait to come back again!!!!!!!

Really enjoyed the food and the drinks at Ember. The place is absolutely beautiful from the front of house to the bar to the restrooms. Our waitress was absolutely great even though she was working the bar at the same time she never skipped a beat with our service. The food was a 10/10 from my dish to the other 3 the table ordered. We finished our meal and asked for coffee after even thought it was late they made fresh pressed coffee for the table. We really appreciated it. The only thing I missing was maybe a little background music. We will definitely be back very soon.

I absolutely loved our experience here. My husband and I went to dinner to try this new place! We ended up running into friends and enjoyed a great meal with them. The service was fantastic, Lisa our server was attentive and provided great insight with the menu. The restaurant was beautiful and elegant while feeling modern and welcoming. I absolutely loved the little touches, in the restroom there was a sugar scrub. Simple little touches make everything welcoming. I forgot to take pictures of the food but it was, melt in your mouth delicious.

Sea bass with scallops and potato puree

Restaurant is beautiful and staff is professional and attentive. Menu is diverse and has something for everyone. Cocktails were good -Persephone's Kiss, dirty martini, old fashioned and wine. Complimentary house made fries with aoli were delicious. Salt and pepper shrimp was not salty or peppery and was over-fried. Meatballs were ok. I think both needed improvement in presentation and accompanying sauces. We had bone in pork chop, sea bass and filet which were all delicious. The accompanying grits and potato puree were well seasoned and delicious. Mac n cheese needed a bit of seasoning but au gratin potatoes were very good. The kitchen was way behind but our server let us know ahead of time which we appreciated. Ember has great potential but they need to continue to nail down the details to be a truly upscale steak house. Before tip $350 for 3 people

My husband and I went for dinner at Ember Steakhouse tonight. Wow, what a great and beautiful restaurant. Our server, Renee was outstanding! She was so attentive and gave great recommendations for our meal. She kept our tea glasses filled and was just all together, exceptional. We started with the lobster sliders, which were delicious! My husband got a ribeye and I had a filet mignon. We got the lobster mashed potatoes to share. The steaks were cooked, absolutely perfectly and full of flavor! The lobster mashed potatoes were out of this world! We decided to share a dessert. We got the New York style cheesecake with strawberries. It was very different from a normal slice of cheesecake. First of all, there was no crust, but it was more like a scoop of cheesecake on top of a strawberry purée. It was so light it almost felt like you were not eating a dessert. It was one of the most delicious things I've ever had. We decided this is our new go to restaurant for special occasions. We live across the dam in Irmo and wish that there was something this good in our part of town. We will most definitely be back!

Cool ambiance and great service. A very comfortable menu - a variety of choices for those who don't want steak. Overall food was really good! They seem to have an issue getting the temperature of people's steaks right but give this place a few months and it'll be up there with Halls.

Brazil the country has some of the best meat and food in the world! Now on to Rio Express Grill in Lexington, SC... This new Brazilian restaurant is situated in the heart of Lexington, SC and is a great addition to the local food options. We decided to do a online lunch order. You can order online very easy thru Toast. The staff was very friendly and professional when I went inside to pickup my order. We ordered two chicken bacon wrap bowls after reading a few Google reviews. Their bowl prices are between $9.99-$17.99, and seem to be very affordable. Now the bowls were seasoned very well, and we truly enjoyed the potato salad, plantations, beats, and the proteins. The bowls seem to be full of veggies and very little meat, approx 1oz of chicken and a half strip of bacon. The disappointing part of our meals, neither bowls were well portioned. We felt that both bowls did not have no more than 1-2% of the meats, so we can't really comment on chicken with bacon. We were expecting that the main dish (chicken & bacon) to be at least 25% of the portion size. We did enjoy our lunch options, but after spending $32+ we were both still hungry. We felt like their prices to portions aren't aligned. Vegans will most definitely enjoy all the different flavors in one bowl. Im being generous with my review in hopes they listen to the customers, if they want to be successful in this town. We have Cava and other places that serve bowls close to them, that give a good portion size of protein for the same price or less.

We just left Bone Appetit after celebrating our daughter's birthday and our 21st wedding anniversary, and unfortunately the experience did not match the occasion. There were definitely some positives. The first set of wings, the eggrolls, the salmon, and the lava cake were all enjoyable. Unfortunately, the rest of the evening became increasingly disappointing. The crab dip was advertised as sizzling hot, but both orders arrived only warm. We waited over an hour for our food on what appeared to be a fairly slow evening, and to be clear, we had no problem with the wait itself. We understand quality food can take time. The issue was waiting that long and still receiving food that was cold. The steaks were not cooked to the requested temperatures and were also cold when served. The tomahawk steak especially was disappointing because it had a noticeably gamey flavor around the bone. I'm not sure whether it was the seasoning or rub used, but the flavor was off-putting. The cheesy potatoes were the only item that actually arrived hot. The Brussels sprouts were mostly dry leaves with barely any actual sprouts. Another issue was the inconsistency from plate to plate. The second and third orders of wings were noticeably different from the first batch. We chose not to send food back because we understand food waste, kitchen pressure, and the challenges restaurants face. We simply wanted to enjoy the evening and make the best of it. Still, after such a long wait, leaving unsatisfied was disappointing. What stood out most was that the owner was nearby, aware that concerns had been brought up, yet never came over to check on the table personally. This review is not about seeking compensation or attacking a local business. It is simply honest feedback from customers who truly wanted to enjoy and support a local restaurant during an important family celebration.

The restaurant location is across from the State House, so I'd anticipate that they get quite a diverse cross section of visitors at the restaurant. I could tell from the moment we arrived that the hostesses were professional and got us to a table that was comfortable and had a view of the dining room. We had originally intended to sit outside where the view is more interesting, but on this day the heat was just too much. Our server, Megan approached quickly and went over a presentation of meat types and preparation styles, and quickly got us some drinks. She was efficient and professional throughout the meal. I had a wonderful fillet with some sauteed spinach, and it was all quite tasty. With a price averaging about $90 per person all in, including soft drinks, tip and tax, it's a higher end restaurant for the area, but certainly a reasonable value overall. For those visiting from out of town as we were, you should definitely take the time to either walk across Gervais Street to visit the State House, or head in the opposite direction along main Street and visit the downtown area. Halls is a wonderful centerpiece and represents Columbia well. At the end of the meal, they asked for my address, at which point I sarcastically said to my wife quote what are they going to do, mail me a thank you card?" The problem with the coffee was the cream. It should probably be served around room temperature. Because the creamer was so cold several of our party had to ask for frequent warm-ups. Our server, Kristen, was very personable, pleasant and accommodating. A couple of us ordered Bellini's and mimosas. My Bellini was just OK. My standards are high, since I've had them in Venice, Italy. The Hall's Bellini was not very tasty and on the watery side. My wife tried to order the sweet potato pancakes, but they were out. So she was disappointed, and ended up with the lavender scented brioche French toast. She thought it was OK but was seeking a stronger flavor. I ordered the biscuits and sausage gravy. I don't order this very often, but there was a good portion of sausage and the flavor of the sausage was enjoyable without being too salty. Our daughter ordered crab cake Eggs Benedict which features a creole sauce. She enjoyed it, but the temperature of the dish could have been hotter. Our niece's daughter had the farmers omelette with the apple sage sausage. The apple-sage sausages were excellent (I got to sample one) and a very good deal. The ambience of Halls is always great. The service is usually quite good and the food is usually excellent. This is our second brunch at Halls and I'll have to say that our first brunch experience was a little bit better for the reasons noted above. I still rate it the best brunch in town.

The place is very well air conditioned, and the space is very intentional. Visiting from out of state the waitress seemed a bit shy/new but curious about Wisconsin she warmed up a little bit. It's really cool that you can see the chefs in their element behind a glass wall while you wait. The silverware, or should I say Goldwear was beautiful. I started out with the All American Spritz- it was good but nothing extraordinary. However when I tried the pistachio martini, I was in disbelief! I was skeptical to order it as I've never even heard of one before and was unsure how pistachio would translate into a martini. It was creamy and somehow savory and sweet at the same time, the alcohol taste was nonexistent. And the rim was coated in pistachio crumbs. Both the drinks presentation was beautiful. I personally ordered the bbq chicken sandwhich, with mac and cheese instead of fries for the side. The sandwich was smoky, I could not stop eating it! If anyone was wondering what so special about the mac and cheese, it's the name of the noodles. And yes, the waitress will sound it out with you lol! The Mac and cheese wasn't creamy, and I found it a bit bland unfortunately. There was no order the same in the group I came with. The truffle fries were on the thinner crispier side, neat that there were different color of potatoes used. The duck wings came out like their very own presentation. I tried the alligator bites, that were served with 2 sauces, I thought there were kind of chewy , and weird enough I guess I have a preference with how my alligator is served since having tried some at the Wisco State fair. I love that the menu feels curated, you know what you're there for and it's not overwhelming to pick from the options of something new. The bathroom was very cute too! That created a slightly rushed feeling right from the start of the experience. When the food arrived, it was not served hot. The fries were seasoned but came out cold, so we had to send them back. The service also felt a bit disengaged, as though the server was ready to wrap things up, even though there was still about 30 to 45 minutes before closing time. That said, once the food was remade and served hot, it was really good. My salad, however, was not the same experience, as the lettuce had brown spots throughout, which took away from the overall quality. You can tell the kitchen has potential when the food is prepared properly, but consistency is the issue. The ambience is very cool and visually appealing. It is a bit dark for my personal preference in the evening, but I can imagine it being bright and beautiful during the daytime. The cocktail I ordered was just okay and didn't really stand out. Overall, there is definitely potential here, but improvements in consistency, service attentiveness, and food quality control would really elevate the experience.
