The waitress (Makala, not sure, it was May 6) was awesome and so were the servers. They put us in a private room space with a few tables. It was great until a 7 top arrived. All women and chatty and loud for the small room...fortunately, we were close to being finished when the hen club arrived. They ruined the atmosphere. My suggestion, dont put small parties in that small room when a large party is coming in also. It is too small a room with all hard surfaces for that noise level. And yes, the other two small tables noticed the noise in my opinion. The food, well the food was great! The filets we had were cooked rare as ordered. They do a french frie service instead of bread service. Those fries are fried in duck fat. So delicious! We had asparagus, lobster mashed taters and mushrooms with our steak. All prepared excellently and delicious. You've hear of Halls Chophouse? This place is better! Have you heard of NY Prime in Myrtle Beach? This place is their equal. And, I consider them the best steakhouse there is. This place is better than Millpond Steakhouse in Rembert, SC. So, take my advice, for one of the absolute best meals and services, go to Embers in Lexington, SC. ( to Embers, keep striving to improve. Never rest on good feedback. Also, one suggestion, blister those grapes tomatoes served as garnish with the steak) Oh, prices, yes they are a little higher than low end places like Outback or Texas Roadhouse or Longhorns but the price is a great price for the steaks served here. Prime meats not choice grade meats. If you want a good steak go to one of those places, but if you want an excellent steak, go to Ember... Wheelchair accessibility If you park in the rear, the only wheelchair route is aroUnd the building on public ways that seem to be a good bit steeper than allowed by A.D.A. The Ember, one of the newer steak houses in Lexington, features an upscale, modern decor. We chose this steakhouse over a nearby competitor, based on the Yelp reviews. We checked out the menu and although we were celebrating our 45th wedding anniversary, we opted for a minimalist approach: the delicious complementary fries with dipping sauces, charred asparagus, the steak, and a bottle of Zinfandel blend. We were greeted warmly as we entered the restaurant and the good service continued with our excellent server Renée. There were no empty tables in the restaurant and everyone seemed to be having a good time without being too loud, perhaps due to the good acoustics of the unique ribbed ceiling. My wife ordered her filet medium-well and I opted for a medium ribeye. Renée explained that they butterfly the filets to encourage more even cooking. Our steaks came out after about 15 minutes, followed by our asparagus. I thought the timing was perfect. Our steaks had a deep char, but managed to be cooked to our liking. We were pleased with the meat. It was very flavorful. The asparagus spears were quite thick, and I was worried they might be woody, but most were tender even at the base. We saved room for dessert and we're really happy with the lemon cake. We also had some caramelized peaches with ice cream and whipped cream. We had a wonderful dinner at Ember! Parking was a little difficult on a Friday night with an event nearby, especially with a handicapped family member, but we appreciated that they held our reservation. The food was amazing, we loved the wedge salad, Korean meatballs, lobster mash potato's, lemon cake, and crème brûlée. Everything was fresh and delicious! The service was excellent. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Ember last night. Our server Brock was kind and attentive. The service and the food were excellent. The idea of fries as a starter instead of bread is genius; they were absolutely delicious. My husband started with the Caesar salad and I had the She crab soup. Both were great! My husband had the steak frites and I had the salmon. The steak was cooked perfectly and the salmon was the best I have ever had. It literally melted in my mouth. We had a great time at Ember and really enjoyed the food and overall experience. The atmosphere and quality were solid, and we spent over $200 for three people, so it definitely felt like a nice night out. That's why it was a little frustrating that simple side swaps felt so rigid. My daughter's meal came with fries and she wanted mashed potatoes instead, but there was a $7 upcharge just to switch it. It honestly felt a bit excessive given the price of the meal overall. It's not that we didn't enjoy the restaurant -- we did. But that kind of nickel-and-diming on something small like a side swap takes away from what should feel like a smooth, high-end dining experience. We'd probably go back, but it would be nice if there was a little more flexibility with basic substitutions, especially on kids' meals. read more

They were participating in restaurant week. Its situated on main street in Lexington, SC. The decor is a stunning mix of luxury and modernity. Many of the tables provide a clear view of the chefs working in the kitchen. Highly recommend having reservations, as this restaurant stays very busy and isn't that large to handle walk ins. The menu offers a wide variety of delicious and mouthwatering starters and main courses that will appeal to everyone. My spouse and I had their lobster soup and kale salad, their 20oz USDA prime ribeye steak ($70.00) which came with potatoe puree and local farm vegetables. They also have a full bar that offers popular cocktails, wines beers, etc. We also ordered a side of their mac and cheese ($13.00) along with a lobster pasta ($21.00), we wanted to try them as well. Our overall dining experience was just average as our ribeyes had alot of fat on them (see pic). Our steaks were cooked as requested medium well. The waitress had us verify it when they brought it to our table. The mac and cheese was watery and was not seasoned very well. The broiled lobster tail was pasta with a few pieces of lobster. We felt like it was overpriced at $21. Ember Steak House Lexington is very expensive like a Michelin Star restaurant. The cost was approximately $250 for 2 adults to dine there. I highly recommend customers preview their menu beforehand. Everything we ate was a little under seasoned. Lastly, the customer service was excellent and our waitress was very friendly and professional. She also went the extra mile to acknowledge our anniversary, by informing the restaurant manager who delivered two glasses of champagne to our table. Overall dining experience was nice, but we're hoping that the management reviews our experience and takes some considerations to a few our experience/feedback. I truly don't even know how to start....... THIS PLACE IS AMAZING!!!!!! The customer service is over the top right there I would return....... I ordered the ribeye rare and OH MY GOD!!!!! Cooked perfect with tons of flavor, you must get it with the shareable mashed potatoes and lobster and the garlic mushrooms. You literally could cut the steak with a fork it soooooooooo tender!!!!! Wife ordered the pork chop which is a heritage breed, Durock. So flavorful so juicy and tender! Our whole experience here was over the top and worth every penny!!!! Really enjoyed the food and the drinks at Ember. The place is absolutely beautiful from the front of house to the bar to the restrooms. Our waitress was absolutely great even though she was working the bar at the same time she never skipped a beat with our service. The food was a 10/10 from my dish to the other 3 the table ordered. Complimentary house made fries with aoli were delicious. Salt and pepper shrimp was not salty or peppery and was over-fried. Meatballs were ok. I think both needed improvement in presentation and accompanying sauces. We had bone in pork chop, sea bass and filet which were all delicious. The accompanying grits and potato puree were well seasoned and delicious. Mac n cheese needed a bit of seasoning but au gratin potatoes were very good. My husband and I went for dinner at Ember Steakhouse tonight. Wow, what a great and beautiful restaurant. Our server, Renee was outstanding! She was so attentive and gave great recommendations for our meal. She kept our tea glasses filled and was just all together, exceptional. We started with the lobster sliders, which were delicious! My husband got a ribeye and I had a filet mignon. We got the lobster mashed potatoes to share. The steaks were cooked, absolutely perfectly and full of flavor! The lobster mashed potatoes were out of this world! We decided to share a dessert. We got the New York style cheesecake with strawberries. It was very different from a normal slice of cheesecake. First of all, there was no crust, but it was more like a scoop of cheesecake on top of a strawberry purée. It was so light it almost felt like you were not eating a dessert. It was one of the most delicious things I've ever had. We decided this is our new go to restaurant for special occasions. The food is amazing! This place is better than Hall's hands down. Had dinner at the bar and John was great as a bartender. Both bartenders were friendly and attentive but not annoying. Both checked with us ti be sure we had everything and if we needed anything as we drank and ate We started with the brussel sprouts and moved on to dinner after discussing what we should get to eat as everything sounded delicious. The steak was so tender, no need for a big steak knife, this steak was able to be cut so easily. We added scallops to the steaks and the Scallops were cooked perfectly as were the steaks. Both steaks were tender and so delicious. Seasoned perfectly no need for anything to be added. The mashed potatoes and summer vegetables were simply delicious as sides to our meals. It was the best experience, from the service to the food, it was more than worth it. Having a great delious meal with good service is definitely worth a trip to Ember. We will be back. read more

The server we had was great and polite. The rest of our dinner was okay. I ordered scotch, got vodka on the rocks. Wife order dirty martini and it was filled to brim and was spilling while being served. Calamari had fried lemons in it and didn't realize and ate. Awful. Lemon sauce was not good. Honestly, calamari was not good at all. Mac and cheese bland and used mix pastas, almost like they ran out of pasta, no idea why. Scalloped potatoes were the best part. Tomahawk for 2, was okay. It cost $135 and wasn't mouth watering, it was okay. They really need to make their food and flavoring match their pricing. Need a better bartender for making drinks too. We will not return, as it was very disappointing for the $250 bill we got at the end. read more

Parking was a bit of a headache on a Wednesday night. Ambiance was attractive, the bar looked comfortable and I wish we would have sat there because we were sat at the teeniest table against a wall which doesn't do considering we like to order quite a bit and sides come separately. The staff was attentive and kind. Our extra dirty martinis were filled to the brim spilling everywhere and were totally clear, not a drop of olive juice to be found save for the olives that were placed in it. I do love that they were able to do blue cheese stuffed olives. After that we went with wine and whiskey and they had a nice selection to choose from both. The complimentary fries and garlic aioli were tasty, the curry ketchup however is just as odd as it sounds, I didn't feel like it worked. The oyster were from Maine and very yummy, but unfortunately fell a little flat for us because the condiments were disappointing. The mignonette was all shallots and peppercorn and hardly a drop of the liquid. I would have liked to have tasted the vinegar and to have been provided a spoon for it. The cocktail sauce was good but I think pre-portioned so it became thick and had a skin on it. The caviar is Marky's which is nice, no complaints. The foie gras was no where to be found, so it just felt like eating French toast. The Japanese waygu had a nice flavor but was so cold I thought it was chilled and I was bummed that my "one bite luxury" had a large amount of gristle. The sea bass was cooked well. The lobster Mac was alright, but I didn't feel the need to eat more than a couple of bites and it's a large serving. The after dinner coffee was decent and the in house ice cream was an unexpected delight. For the 2 of us, we spent $300 before the tip. The price for the allowances we had to make mean we won't be returning for some time. TL;DR It's a beautiful restaurant with great staff, the food is high quality but could use some tweaks in its execution, especially for the price point. read more

Six of us came to Ember for the first time for a birthday celebration. Though nothing was wrong with the dining experience we all agreed that it was just "OK". The service was nothing above your standard restaurant service, with the highlight of the meal being our cocktails. Between all of us we had steaks, pork chops and short ribs, chopped salad and caesar salads with the beef kushiyaki as a starter. Again all of this was "Ok", but advertised as an "elevated steakhouse experience" I would expect more. I can see us coming back again to enjoy the bar, but will likely stick to heading to Columbia to Halls when seeking a steakhouse dinner. read more

The service was fine but the food was not good. The "foie gras", had no foie gras in it. It was like they melted a little of that duck liver and toasted the French toast bite in the fat, then drowned it in strawberry preserves. The rib eye had absolutely no flavor. 3 adults and the bill was over $500. One of the adults had $13 corn bisque and the foie gras bite for $11. 2 glasses of Chardonnay for $24. But yet the bill was over $500. We are not averse to spending money on a good meal. We spent $1400 for 3 of us at the Ocean Room in Kiawah, but it was worth every penny. Wow! Our server was knowledgeable and attentive, and the food was absolutely amazing. The short rib and Brussels are a must have -- perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. Ryan, the managing partner, checked in to make sure everything was just right, which made the experience feel even more personal and welcoming.
