First time going here and I have to say it was a hit. First off and what set the stage for the entire experience was our server. I wish I remembered her name, but she was excellent. Timely, attentive (not overly) and had a great personality. Great fun atmosphere. They were having trivia night the night we went (Thurs) and just seems like a nice place for group of friends, family dinner or just to grab a bite & a drink alone. Food was really good. Plenty of menu options (limited if you are vegetarian) but otherwise, nice menu, specials and tasted great. And good drink options as well. Our ROMEO group of seven went for lunch today. They sat us in a nice room in the back right side and the waitress was prompt and very good in taking our drink and entree orders. One of the guys ordered an appetizer for the table of the fried pork rinds with a dipping sauce of collards, cheeses, and some other ingredients. We passed it around the table and it was excellent. The pork rinds were perfecly crispy and light. We had one order of the Heirloom and Watermelon Salad which was very good. I ordered the Mushroom Swiss Burger, we had three orders for the Rowdy Rooster chicken tender sandwich, an All-American bacon cheeseburger, and a Peach & Prosciutto Flatbread. I had a side Caesar salad with my hamburger and it was quite large. It was very good. As far as my Mushroom Swiss Burger it was good...had two beef patties perfectly cooked and sort of had the charred taste. I didn't really care for the arugula lettuce on the burger and I thought it needed a bit of salt. Most everyone liked what they got and they got and the only issue was with one of the Rowdy Rooster sandwiches. The sandwich came out with really nothing on it other than chicken. The menu said it had jalapeno slaw, diced tomatoes sauce and pickles. The waitress took it back and when she came back out it still was missing something. She took it back a second time and I think almost had it correct when it came back. Not sure what happened but somehow it was messed up. Other than that the group gave an average rating of 8.57 ROMEO, 4 Yelp. Came for an early lunch and the food, service and ambiance are unmatchable!!! I don't eat beef, so asked for the burger to be replaced with chicken on the mushroom swiss burger and the kitchen was more than amenable. The fries are delicious, do not pass them up. They're like little bursts of flavor and clearly not pre-frozen. I can't say enough about my experience. Now, when attending events at Colonial Life, I know where to go to pre-game! read more

We stopped here because we were seeing Wicker at the Koger Center. We were able to park for the event and walk to the restaurant in the same parking lot. We informed the waitress that we were under a bit of a time crunch and so we placed our order at the first interaction. Within 10 minutes we all 3 had our food, and everything correct. My shrimp PoBoy was excellent and the sweet tea. Everyone enjoyed their food and the service was great and the place looked really nice but was mostly empty due to the time of day. The food was mediocre. We sat at the bar and there were only 2 bartenders on a crowded Friday night. Glasses that needed to be washed were all over the end of the bar. Our bartender was taking dinner orders and making drinks. He was definitely stretched out. My crab dip had too much bread crumbs and my friend's shrimp and grits wasn't very tasty. This was the night of a concert and they weren't properly staffed. However our bartender was going to the back to get orders along with making drinks and taking orders. We stopped in at this restaurant that is diagonally across from Colonial Life Arena. We were really early, and the restaurant started to get crowded after we arrived. Service was efficient, as were our drinks and food. I ordered Sweet Chili wings and Sweet Potato fries. I give both 5/5 stars as I enjoyed them immensely. I also enjoyed a Ye Olde Spur drink, expertly prepared, with Elijah Craig Bourbon, Black Walnut Bitters, Orange Bitters, and Simple Syrup. My experience was far better than anticipated. read more

5 stars for the service!!! We had Sid as our server and she was amazing! There was also another young lady that we thought was a manager or supervisor who frequently checked on us who was very kind as well, we felt the hospitality!! Food was great and the dust off the show was the crab dip! If you go you have to get it! Wings lacked flavor and seasoning after being recommended the dry rub. Brussels were a really good add on! Came in here for a bite before a basketball game across the street and we were quickly sat. The server seemed new but she was polite and had a good sense of humor and did a great job. The food was a little slow coming out but we were catching up with friends so it wasn't a huge deal (but we did just barely make it to the start of the game despite arriving at the restaurant nearly 2 hours before the game time). The food was delicious and I love the style of kitchen where you can see a lot of the prep and cooking being done. Nice vibes and wasn't too loud or anything but people were enjoying themselves and there were lots of sports fans! Overall a great experience! read more

Went here for the 1st time on Thursday November 6th 2025 with my Aunt and Mom, as we needed a bite to eat before seeing The Jonas Brothers at colonial Life Arena that night. Luckily, this restaurant is within walking distance of Colonial Life, and is literally right across the street. We were greeted by a host, who almost sat us outside, but then we were able to get a high top table. Our server greeted us right away and served us waters. The Menu basically had lots of sandwiches and burgers, but sure is enough to get filled up. First we started with Quesadillas as an appetizer. Then for entrees I got a hamburger M with sweet potato fries, My aunt got a chicken caesar salad, and my mom got a chicken sandwich with fries. Food came out in a timely manner. I enjoyed the appetizer and my burger as well as fries. Waitress did a good job checking on us and refilling our waters. We got the check right away, and paid with a credit card, and left a cash tip. Aaliyah and Angie were our attentive servers during a Sunday brunch buffet, and there is really something for everyone at this classy buffet style brunch. Lots of fresh assorted pastries, and Southern comfort foods, but healthy options as well. Meaning you can get fresh biscuits & gravy, chicken & waffles, as well as plenty of vegetarian options. Tim is the GM and it was very evident he wants the customers to have an outstanding meal and experience. This is truly my favorite brunch in Columbia by a large margin. The price point is great as well, being that it is just high enough to be a value, but not be a "Golden Corral" population. So it's very tasteful, and my wife and I will bring family and friends here in the future as the offerings change weekly. My husband and I went early on a Thursday night so it wasn't busy. Our server Jaz was very attentive. My husband ordered coffee and she made him a fresh pot! We started with the hot crab dip. It was delicious. I had the salmon which was perfect and he had shrimp, everything was delicious and the service was top notch The general manager introduced himself to us which was nice. Our office group recently had a holiday luncheon at The Golden Spur. Overall, it was a great experience, and sitting in the enclosed patio provided a festive atmosphere. The lunch menu provided a lot of options to accommodate many different tastes. A couple people in our group specifically commented on how delicious the wings were. I had a delicious grilled chicken & veggie flatbread pizza that was just the right portion size for lunch. Additionally, the staff was cordial, prompt and attentive to our needs as a big party. I wanted to specifically give praise to Olivia and Gracie, who went out of their way to make sure we all had what we needed, all while providing courteous service with a smile. Would definitely go back for future group functions, or to try out the Sunday brunch, which is their specialty. Thanks again for making our occasion a great experience! read more

Not good, food was meh... nothing you can't get better anywhere else locally. Service was abysmal...had to raise my hand every time we needed beverage refills. The whole operation just looked disorganized staff wise. A lot of staff but nobody had any idea what was happening and It wasn't busy or anything. Maybe they just need to get their reps in and they will sort it out but I wouldn't come back. Hopefully they read this and actually start putting the food on actual plates instead of the pretentious skinny cutting boards and metal baskets. Who wants to eat out of a metal basket or have a burger or sandwich with toppings drop on a skinny little cutting board. I found out about this place from the ColaToday newsletter issue dated 12/11/2024. The issue listed several Soda Citizens and traveling food influencers from the area. I checked out @David_mcnamara and he was the first to review this place. Well I had to check this place out right after work. I'm glad I did. Chris the bartender was great. He recommended a few dishes. I chose the Chicken Souvlaki Gyro with fries! It was delicious! The atmosphere is encouraging. What I mean by that is it presents a new vibe for Columbia. Something like what you would find in Charlotte, NC. They have plans on expanding on that vibe. You wouldn't be sorry if you came here. I plan on going back for brunch and dinner soon. We went for dinner before the Stevie nicks concert. Service was incredibly slow. We ordered wine but it never came. Food was late and was horrible. We had to leave the table and ask for our glasses of wine. Was given the excuse that the bar was backed up but the wine would be on the house. Nope it was on our bill. Went down for a basketball game and found this great restaurant across the street from Colonial Life Arena, the food was amazing especially the burgers, the service was outstanding. I have eaten at the Golden Spur 4 times since it opened. The food and service have bern good...until last night (03.27.25). My family and I waited 10-15 minutes at the table without a server making an appearance. People seated after us were served before us. I went and told the hostess and a server appeared shortly thereafter. (Please note that the hostess was very kind and apologetic.) Unfortunately, our service woes did not end. I had to go to the bar to get our drink refills several times as our server did not check on us as needed. ( nonalcoholic beverages - a very simple checkpoint). It was quite a disappointing and an unexpected experience. I did not ask for a manager as I was so annoyed I simply did not want to "deal with it" at the time. read more
