    Breaded fish (cod) dinner
    Gayle K.

On a recent girl's trip to Conesus Lake this restaurant was recommended to us by a local as being "consistently great" so we decided to give it a try. Things started out fine. A nice selection of breads was set before us with oil, butter, and olive tapenade as accompaniments. Four dinners were ordered: Maple Dijon salmon, prime rib, burger, and a breaded cod dinner. The dinners came with good salads (garden or Caesar). Three of the main courses were good, not great. The garlic mashed potatoes and the vegetable medley were bland and the French fries with the burger were just ok. We would have been fine with all of that were it not for the breaded fish dinner. The piece of fish that was served was so burnt that it never should have left the kitchen. The waitress set it in front of us without batting an eye and seemed shocked when we called her over (after having given it the benefit of the doubt by tasting it) and asked that she please remove it from the table and remove the charge from our bill. The woman who ordered it had completely lost her appetite. She declined a new piece of fish and also the option of picking a different entree, which would have meant waiting for it to be prepared while the rest of us ate. There was barely an apology for something that never should have been served. We anticipated a visit from a manager or perhaps an offer for a dessert neither of which happened. Three of us paid for our meals and were wished a good evening by our waitress. As an afterthought and 4 steps away from the table she half-heartedly said "sorry" to our fourth companion. So much for being "consistently great". Perhaps it was just an "off" night but they certainly deserve the demerits for the way the situation was handled. We're still shaking our heads as to what cook and server thought it was acceptable to place that in front of a customer.

Angus Prime Rib with garlic mashed

OMG! For my southern tier friends, please try Yard of Ale! We were in Letchworth for a baloon ride (cancelled, sigh) and were looking for a place to eat. Saw this restaurant with lots of stars and good reviews. Colonial style bldg, very welcoming. Inside, same, like stepping back to the 1800s. Lots of rooms so no overcrowding feelings and kept noise down. Bar was cool. An actual yard length beer glass over the bar. Good drinks, good pour, good price. Food: i had the prime rib of course, wife had blackened scallops. Her scallops were well seasoned, slight crisp on the outside, moist and juicy inside. Perfect! My rib was absolutely awesome. Angus beef they claim is the best in NY. Idk if I can argue! Prices were reasonable. Staff was great. Long way to go but worth it!

You can tell she truly enjoys what she does, and it made our night even better. The food was phenomenal. We started with the Caesar Tower, which easily fed four adults as an appetizer -- and it was honestly one of the best we've had. Highly recommend! Our entrees did not disappoint either... everything was flavorful, fresh, and beautifully presented. The specialty drinks were crafted perfectly and were just as impressive as the food. We will absolutely be returning and can't wait to dine outdoors when the weather is nice. Such a great experience all around

Lovely ambiance but a V&T was served in a small juice glass filled mostly with ice; we were a party of four and they brought us a bread plate with three slices of bread! What?? the Delmonico steak was the fattiest, most grizzled piece of meat I've had in a very long time. Beet salad was pickled beets, not fresh beets; disappointing. Our server Caroline was very efficient and lovely. Unless I hear differently in the future, I will not be back again.

Candlelit tables and dim sconces on the walls provided a warm, inviting vibe. Surprisingly, the server who greeted us knew us by name and warmly welcomed us to the National Hotel. Our server was knowledgeable, friendly and had a great sense of humor. The meal was coursed out perfectly and we enjoyed every bite. Stuffed mushrooms to start were piping hot and flavorful in a ramekin of butter. The hottest thing in Cuylerville was the freshly baked bread-in-a-bag! Perfect to get every morsel of mushroom soup out of our bowls. Usually you have to choose between soup OR salad, not here! We got a fresh greens garden salad following the soup! Our main entrées of steak were perfectly cooked to temp and tasted great with the red wine. The mashed potatoes were fluffy, flavorful and satisfying. Peanut butter and chocolate pie brought our experience to a close. To wrap up the evening, we got to thank the chef and her husband for an amazing dining experience. This is one of a kind gem and we look forward to our next visit. Bring a loved one, go for a special date night or just stop in to treat yourself. You will not be disappointed.

Our server was super friendly and knowledgeable. The meal always starts with fresh baked bread service that is accompanied by butter, house pickles and either a hummus or garlic confit (in my experience). My mom is gluten free so she was bought her own dish with focaccia and a roll. She was over the moon about that and really enjoyed the focaccia. We all enjoyed every bit of our meal which included our choice if an appetizer, main dish and dessert from a prix fixe menu for $40. Some of our choices included charcuterie, arugula salad, tamarind shrimp curry, salmon and lemon meringue cheesecake. We left with our culinary needs satisfied and our stomachs full... we even had some leftovers. I can't wait to go back again. It's best to make reservations as they usually get fully booked. As soon as we walked in, we notice the ambiance of the entire building is clean and well maintained. The restaurant has an open kitchen concept so you can see much of what is going on "behind the scenes". Upon entering the restaurant, we were appropriately greeted by staff who were very personable, respectful, and informative. The same attentive and personable service was given by the entire staff. We were able to ask questions about how the restaurant operates, being that it is operated by the Culinary Institute and its students and alumni. I'll spare you the details but it is an interesting dynamic. The food was excellent. We went for dinner and while there is a limited menu, the options were varied enough that anyone would be able to find something they will enjoy. This might be the most affordable three course meal I've had this decade. The food was prepared perfectly, the presentation was impeccable, and the service provided leaves nothing to be desired. The entire operation is run calmly and very efficiently. I am happy to have had the opportunity to dine at Savor and it is going on my short list of highly recommended upscale restaurants for anyone looking for a nice dinner at an affordable price. So if you're looking for a night out and don't want to break the bank, go support the students and alums from SUNY Niagara. I doubt you'll regret it at all.
