While in Plano, Texas for a softball tournament, I made it my mission to find a great breakfast taco spot for my early morning taco run. I decided to give this place a try, and I'm glad I did! The ingredients were fresh, flavorful, and prepared with care. The tacos hit the spot and provided the perfect start to a busy tournament day. The staff was friendly, attentive, and worked together like a well-coached team, making the entire experience enjoyable. The prices were fair, the service was excellent, and the food was definitely worth the stop. My only complaint? The tacos reminded me that nobody can quite compete with my grandmother's homemade tortillas--but that's a pretty high bar for anyone! They have the best breakfast tacos around. Perfect for a quick pick up or dine in. (I prefer their breakfast tacos over Rosa's Cafe.) So if you're on the west side of Frisco, head down to the Colony and grab them. We've tried them all - bacon and sausage are my fav but my wife likes the chorizo and potatoes. Love their pico too! In town for business and my boss wanted Mexican food. Searched all the reviews in the area near us and this one came highly recommended! It's a small location where you order your food and then choose your own seat. The service was super friendly though the entire time and they have a very extensive menu. My boss went with the Carne Asada plate. And said that the meat was super tender and really good seasoning on it. I opted for the chicken fajitas and they were amazing! Chicken was nice and seasoned with grilled onions and peppers and shockingly potato slices that were perfectly seasoned. I opted to go with corn tortillas, but you do have the option of flour tortillas as well. We also tried their guacamole and it was amazing. It is a little bit of a smaller portion, but it was plenty for just the two of us. I thought maybe it would be in a to go soup container but this container tiny. Just a bit larger than the to go salsa container. Delicious flavor, disappointing size for $3.99 I also wanted to try the appetizer platter- BIG WIN! Quesadilla- amazing flavor, burrito- crispy and cheesy and savory. Flauta- too crispy and not enough filling. Beef nacho and chicken nacho- very tasty and seasoned well! It comes with a little dollop of sour cream and guacamole Had to try the street tacos- that's why I went in- I ordered a chicken and beef but I they must not have heard me correctly- I received a shrimp and chicken- good thing I don't have any allergies or that could have been bad news- both really fantastic! Alright. I really loved this place! Definitely a hole in the wall. Parking was decent and located in a safe area. Place is well lit and is an easy sit-down to enjoy some casual Tex-Mex dishes. Seating is plentiful and table tops are clean. You enter and order at the register - you'll then get a number and go to any table you'd like that's available. The tacos (about $2.25 each) were to die for and well stocked with the meats that you ordered. You get some limes on the side and 2 sauces (red and green). Overall, it was decent but it would have been better, both in taste and in its appeal, had the tortilla been heated longer and browned more. The beef/pork in the street tacos were nicely seasoned and flavorful. The brisket was the better of the two. There was a decent amount of oil that had soaked up the tortillas in the beef tacos by the time we ate them at home but we enjoyed them anyway. Good fresh Mexican is shockingly hard to come by. Don't get a burrito at a taco place and vice versa are my rules to go by. What to do when it's a Tex-Max place?!? Get the braised brisket I say! I was greeted by a smile as is normal here in Dallas which always makes the experience better! The chimichanga was a deep fried gut buster in the best way smothered by nacho cheese. The tacos were a mixed bag with the carnitas missing that fried touch, the pastor wasn't off a trumpo but had a surprise hit of heat, and the carne asada was just pale chopped steak. Warm tortillas and fresh red and green salsa hit the spot. Togo order was brought out by the chef which is a great touch!
