The service here is ALWAYS on point! Crazy the amt of times we've been here and I haven't done a review! It's hard to get reservations same day, so it's best that you do it at least a day ahead and they get booked up quick! This trip we got all different entrees, everything is great here! But I will say that you HAVE to get the table side guac service! They put BACON in it and always bring a couple bucks to give to the nice attendant for preparing your fresh guac Some of my other favorites are the sopes, the carne asada and tacos are never a miss. I will say this time around we were disappointed with the shrimp tacos, it was 4 tiny tacos with 1 shrimp per taco :-/ so maybe try it if you don't have the same appetite of a 15yo growing teenage boy lol Restaurant of course is very nice and always clean. Extremely disappointing experience at Mia Dia in Plano. Our group was diverse, and the overall service and handling of our table were unacceptable. The vegetarian options were also very limited, with only about three dishes on the entire menu. My vegetarian enchiladas were served incorrectly twice, first with meat sauce, then with an entirely wrong preparation. It took three attempts and manager involvement to correct a basic order. By that point, I had lost my appetite. Service throughout the meal was poor. We had to request water three separate times, which reflects a lack of attentiveness. The most concerning issue was being charged $1.50 for pico de gallo that was provided while correcting their own mistake, despite being told it would be taken care of. This reflects a clear lack of professionalism, accountability, and customer care. I will not be returning and cannot recommend this restaurant. read more

Bf and I had a good dining experience here. Came in on a Saturday night with an estimated wait time of 25 min that was more like 15. Vibes were lovely at night, very low light and upscale. I got the steak fajitas. Definitely some of the best steak for fajitas I've had as my go-to for Tex mex. Very tender, easy to bite through. However, they didn't give me many toppings. I was given guac, sour cream and cheese along with tortillas. At other places I often get lettuce and tomatoes, lettuce at a minimum, so my fajitas felt a bit empty with just meat, cheese and sauces. Came with rice and beans, but I don't like either so they were given to my bf, who said he liked them. Bf got duck carnitas and enjoyed them. Said the duck was indistinguishable from something like pork but that they tasted good anyway. He really enjoyed the jam like sauce that came with and the beans. Overall, I enjoyed this place and would return. Bonus: we were given a WHOLE bag of chips with our to-go boxes unprompted. Win! read more

The best experience! Super sweet waitress- she explained the whole menu to us, including drinks, food, and history of the restaurant. She was amazing- I'm doing this review well after visiting so forgot her name but wish I could give kudos to her! We enjoyed our drinks, one recommended by the waitress- the riviera Maya. Both were great (and definitely had alcohol- be warned!) food was amazing! I wanted to try the spicy Santa Fe sauce, so I did enchiladas with two different sauces. The salsa was amazing. Chicken in enchiladas wasn't dry and the tortillas were so good. The manager came by to check on us, and after finding out it was our first time there, offered us free dessert! Mi Dia From Scratch is a great place to grab some lunch. I stopped by with some coworkers. The menu presented us with some difficult decisions. I ended up ordering the green chile tacos -- and they were really good! At first I thought that they were a bit small and that I hadn't ordered enough food - then I started eating them - and then I realized I couldn't finish. There ended up being more than enough. This place is mostly stellar and lovely. Nearly all the staff were sweet and the food comes out very quickly. My frustration and lower star rating is because of the manager. It's quite off-putting that the manager went to every CAUCASIAN table and asked how they were doing and if they did needed anything. Yet he ignored us because we're minorities? My son flew into town and took me to such a nice dinner at Mi Dia. We hadn't been here before and walked in a little after 5p on a Friday. We were seated immediately. Our server was super sweet and had the best energy. He totally made our experience 5 stars. Loved him! We both started with spicy pineapple margs. These go down fast! We ordered the table side guac, delish!!!! We were pleased that when we said spicy it definitely had a kick. Our spicy isn't usually the idea of a restaurant's spicy when we do table side guac. We both said "this guy took us seriously". We both strayed away from basic items we were going to order when our server suggested different menu items and ordered two of the same entree, really hoping it was good. The shrimp enchiladas were OUTSTANDING!!! I mean, think you may have been eating them in CDMX if you didn't know you were in Plano, outstanding! Our server was the cutest little thing, with so much personality and really fun, he suggested a couple of really great cocktails for round two. We totally trusted him and had no clue what we were ordering when the first arrived, "when hell freezes over". This drink was impressive. I don't know that I'd need it on a regular basis but happy we tried it. The second was a dessert cocktail and soooo yummy, almost like an adult milkshake in a martini glass. We shared both and enjoyed the dessert cocktail with an on the house dessert of our choice ( a scrumptious Rocky road esque homemade ice cream, that was superb!) since we mentioned it was our first time here since I moved to town. Mi Dia came as a recommendation from a neighbor of mine and her daughter who spoke highly of them. Such a great spot, can't wait to return! By the time we left the entire place was full. Mi Dia never fails to impress. From the food to the friendly service, I'm a fan. This location was nicely decorated with a center bar filled with different types of tequila. The tableside guac is always a star and a must for the table. Socially with all that good bacon mixed in, really filling and delicious and I also like to think it's healthy lol. The table salsa has a good kick to it too. You end up eating so much chips because of all the great dips. The enchiladas were outstanding and our server hooked it up with the brisket. Gave this establishment a second shot because a friend wanted to meet there. Last time I have this place a 3-star. This round was a whole lot different. The vibe, energy, was great. We sat at the bar and had dinner because the restaurant was full on a Saturday evening. We ordered the ceviche, Carne Asada, and table side guacamole, which were all delicious and Strawberry and Mango Margaritas that were too strong or too sweet. It was the perfect balance. Unlike the sugary garbage at other chains! The habanero pepper infused tequila is HOT ! Don't get it if you can't handle spice. We came around 630pm on a bitterly cold freezing Thursday for dinner. The place was packed! Slammed! We did not have a reservation but snagged the last booth. Definitely make a reservation for weekends. Our waitress was excellent! We had drinks, steak, enchiladas (not really enchiladas, did I mention this place is "innovative"?) , and churros. The churros were fresh with hot caramel in the middle, chocolate dip and ice cream. I was in charge of choosing a birthday spot for my out-of-towner friend, Jon S. (shameless plug for his Yelp profile: https://www.yelp.com/user_details?userid=1BzLQ5Q8BM4jRtycPY7cEw). He was visiting from California and I had to take him and our other friend to restaurants that encompass Texan culture so for Texmex, I chose Mi Dia from Scratch because it had good reviews and it was close to where his old college buddy lives. I also wanted to make sure it was a special spot with amazing food and good vibes, in hopes that it would make him move permanently to TX. Yelpers did not fail me on this one. Thank you! I was able to make reservations easily online for a party of 8 (unfortunately down to a party of 7 because the old college buddy's wife had to work). Still, they accommodated us and we had really incredible service by Gannon. He was super nice and patient. Jon S., the birthday boy, wanted the table side guac. Whatever the birthday boy wishes, he'll receive. Our guac maker came with a big cart of the essentials of making guacamole -- avocados, tomatoes, lemons, etc., but he also had mix-ins. It was like a veritable froyo shop where you can pick and choose your add-ins. He asked if we wanted everything... of course we said yes, especially to the bacon. Jon S also stressed the importance of bacon. If it's offered to you in any way, it's an automatic yes. All the dishes that came out looked amazing. Birthday boy and I had the duck carnitas. So flavorful. Husband got the sea bass tacos. He finished his. I had to take some of mine home because I filled myself up with the chips and salsa and the guac.... WITH BACON. This place was popping meaning sooooo busy and buzzing with activity. This atmosphere here is so energetic and electrifying. The decore is very nice reminds me of an upscale restaurant. Love it! On to this food, incredible! To be honest we shared a lot of dishes, the esquites, a corn dip was fantastic! I immediately tasted the sweetness of the corn not boiled, fried but Grilled! Omg! Food was over all ok. I ordered the Huevos Ahogados - almost like an eggs benedict. It was poached eggs on top of masa "boats", topped with a pesto reduction and pickled onions. I was thinking the masa boats would be like sopes but it was not. They were too dense, lacked flavor, and quite dry. My wife and I moved back to the Dallas area a little over 2 years ago and we have been disappointed with the restaurant scene as either the food is mediocre or the service is lacking. That was until last night. We went to Mi Dia off Parker Road for the first time. We arrrived at 6 PM and the place was buzzing. The layout of the restaurant was nice and prominently displayed their vast tequila selection. Our server Zachary was fantastic! He was extremely knowledgeable about the menu from the food to the drinks and had great suggestions. He was attentive without being bothersome. We never waited more than 30-60 seconds if we needed anything from a refill of chips or water to another drink. The food was creative and well executed recipes. We had a variety of plates with our group and everyone raved about their dish. Another highlight of the evening was having Miguel stop by each table to ensure everthing was excellent. The think that really impressed me is after making his rounds, he stopped at the server station and grabbed two pitchers of water and went and filled water at several tables. In addition, when I was leaving and wanted to brag on our server, Zachary, I had to wait for him to finish making a round of drinks behind the bar. It was refreshing to see a restaurant manager leading from the front and chipping in with his team rather than just giving orders. I highly recommend Mi Dia! read more

We came by on a Sunday for an early dinner. I love how they have their seating arranged with the outdoor covered area - beautiful for nice days. While I didn't drink , their drinks sound interesting, including their house infused tequila ! Our waitress was sweet, and the food was yummy. One of our regular rotation restaurants. My husband and I meet up with our adult step children once a month and have enjoyed Mi Dia for a year. It's also the first restaurant he brought me to when I considered moving here from New Orleans. The seafood is fresh and the civiche is well made and well balanced. They make fresh Guac next to the table. Everything is delicious and the service is phenomenal. The ambiance is very nice with warm dimmed dining areas.
