I've been here twice and I wasn't impressed either time. The rice was very mushy - not acceptable in the Asian culture. I get it's a casino but when they're charging $15+ for an entree, they should at least make sure the main staple is prepared properly. I had the walnut shrimp and it lacked flavor. The shrimp was slightly mushy and undercooked as well. My friend had the Szechwan chicken, I believe. They said it was just ok. The sauce was "ok" but the chicken was prepared "fine." Nothing really positive to say unfortunately here. I will say Loft 94 looks really nice with great views. It features an Asian menu as well but different than this one. read more

Well, the food was edible? Mostly edible. Perhaps they were just having an off night. There were 5 or so patrons ahead of me, which translated to about 20 minutes of standing in line before I could order (I tool off the 5 minutes of waiting for their system to get fixed). Then, the order brought to my table was wrong. Alright, it happens. And the food? Meh. It reminded me of the attempt at "Asian night" at a college dining hall, but not as good. I ordered the lumpia; 4 soft, oily rolls that were more lukewarm fried than deep fried, and obviously had been frozen, as evidenced by the coolness of the beef filling. My main course was General Tso's Chicken, which was also suspectfly soft, rather than the expected crispy crunch of the outer coating. The sauce was also a bit sour, which is not how I ever remember experiencing General Tso's Chicken. We came here for lunch. The pros to this place is they cook the food fast. I had the beef broccoli combo which comes with steamed rice. I liked the flavor of the meat but the sauce to it was way too salty. Steamed rice was cooked perfectly. I literally was drinking my iced water since the salt lingered in my mouth. Ughhh! This place was descent. I do enjoy their fried rice. I had it before. If you dine in, they serve you your food on plates. You can also have your food to go. There's seating inside and condiments on the table. It's located inside the Jamul Casino. I would come back to try other items. Decent place. read more

Stood in line for 10 minutes without an employee saying a word to us. Watched as they helped to go orders (3) ahead of us 2 of which arrived after we did. One of us had to stand in the to go line for someone to acknowledge us. She informed my friend that we need to stand in the other line (the one we had been standing in) when I mentioned we have been standing there for 10 minutes. A server turns around, throws her arms up and says, "I'm busy!" This is not the first time I have had a similar experience where someone refuses to at least acknowledge you and say somewill will be with you shortly. How hard is that? Not the best choice of places to get Chinese food but when you have a food comp from the casino...why not. Jamul casino doesn't have the widest variety of food stations to choose from. This is the only Asian food restaurant in the casino. Customer service can either be ok or Really Suck! You will have to judge for yourself. We've had quite a few dishes from here. The pork fried rice is actually very good and flavorful. Their Kung pao chicken is very good and flavorful as well. What was Very Disappointing was their so called salt n pepper chicken! First off I guess this place uses chicken nuggets and calls it salt n pepper chicken...REALLY...?!?!! So that's a huge MISS for me! Their honey walnut shrimp has way too much of that mayo dressing on it and way too sweet! Their general Tso chicken is ok in taste but very gummy in texture. I'm not one to write bad reviews unless the business really deserves it. The service was okay nothing special the lady who took my order seemed like she didn't want to be there. I ordered vegetable spring rolls and the Kung pao chicken. The vegetable spring rolls were undercooked and doughy. The Kung pao chicken was severely under seasoned. and so oily it made my stomach hurt right after I ate some of it. Not to mention the flavor was not on point at all, no hint of spice and they give you the tiniest box of rice. Also, it was like 75% vegetables and 25% chicken. I feel bad writing this review but it was probably some of the worst Chinese food I've ever eaten. I ended up spending 20$ on my meal just to throw most of it away. read more

Email is sent to Jamul casino a week ago and still has not acknowledged my email... so FYI: just wanted to let you know that I have been to the Chinese restaurant "Emerald" located in your Casino three times now post COVID-19 Reopening. I have been very disappointed in each visit, but keep trying to give chances. The first one the hostess allowed four people to sit in a booth behind us, the four people decided to get up and leave, the hostess then did not wipe anything down decided to sit 2 new people in the booth. My second visit I asked for an extra plate the server brought two plates one that had a peanut already on the plate, he flipped it off the plate and put it down in front of me, I had to tell him there's no way I'm using that plate please bring me another one. My last and final visit was yesterday for dinner, was seated in a booth looked down and there was leftover fried chicken pieces all over my seat, I had to ask the hostess to wipe down both of our seats in the booths!!!!! I'm done giving this place a chance because I will not catch any type of virus that could be lingering there. It's very sad each time we go we spent upwards of $40-$50 and to be treated like this is appalling in my opinion. I was very rude yesterday and did not leave a cash tip the tip I left was " be cleaner, better service". I didn't ask to speak to any one in charge because I feel that it'll fall on deaf ears. So I'd rather put it in writing just to let you know that you've lost two customers because we do not feel safe. The absolute worst Asian food in San Diego. I kid you not if I didn't get a food comp after losing $700 I wouldn't have eaten this garbage. The manager is a terrible person and does not have any managerial skills. Poor customer service. Me and my family order 3 dishes. A vegetable fried rice, kung pao chicken, and a pad Thai noddle. We ask for no tofu in our pad Thai it comes with tofu. The kung pai chicken is a spicy dish it comes out bland and literally like a soy sauce flavor. We ask to speak with a manger but supposedly he was busy and not there at that moment. So we ask another employee if they can redo the pad Thai and to replace the kung pao dish for a beef and broccoli. Let me just say they brought out the beef and broccoli and I got another disgusting dish. We ask for the bill and and they kung pao wasn't removed from our bill. Our waitress informs me that she is waiting for the manager to come and remove it from the bill since he is the only one who can over ride the system to remove it. The manager shows up after about 15-20 min and he comes over to say we will be charged for the kung pao and will have to pay for it. This manager needs to be fired. The worst customer service skills I've ever dealt with. He gets an attitude with my sister who was also speaking to him and he tells her to leave because he didn't like the way she spoke to him. My sister ask's for a higher manager and here comes what seems to be a security personal in a matter of 10 seconds. Seems they had him on stand by. I think the manager knew what was going to happen since he doesn't care about the customers or what they have to say and that his way is the only way things go. They finally remove the kung poop chicken and that's not a joke it was poop. I will never come to this casino to eat let alone gamble. We ate some great food there and served in very quick time. Our waitress was very nice woman asked if we enjoyed our food, we did. "It was the best Shrimp fried rice I've eaten in twenty years" I said. 'My girlfriend and ate the beef soup and it was awesome with fresh bean sprouts. Then she had a plate of pork ribs and they were sweet and tender tasty soft as they were delicious she let me taste one. 'Love the atmosphere here it's tranquil quiet calm serene and clean' and no filthy dogs and lowlifes hanging or loitering about like so many other restaurants no they don't allow those things here, and nice no riff raff or scum bums hanging around begging at the door like most other places we have seen lately a rise in those transients ruining evening out. Safe at this place and great time great food great service and wonderful nice server we gave her big tip as everyone should do. And leave good review when they deserve it. I give them 5 stars and I can say I saw those cooks working hard in back thanks guys we appreciate your work. We ate and enjoyed and we'll return. We recommend Emerald Chinese Cuisine too. Wow talk about bad service. There was a line that no one was paying attention too. The manager was having other people deal with the upset customers instead of herself. As people were leaving they should have been seating people all alone instead of seating everyone at once overwhelming the kitchen. Once it slowed down the manager stepped to the front and started seating once it slowed down. All the other tables around us that were seated at the same time as us were all talking amongst each other about the terrible service. read more

Horrible service , I was seated and took a long time for someone to come and ask how I am doing etc. after I place my order I never got my water had to ask another server to bring me some water. Now I am waiting for someone to come and bring me a to go box and possibly some more water. Nobody asked how was my food or anything.
