a state police officer pulled me over in grid lock I might of been going 5mph. She told me that she pulled me over because I was on my cellphone and this conversation is being recorded. I told her that she was mistaken because I was not on my cellphone, she noticed my bag of ziplocked weed in my car along with several cans of beer and bottle of wine, I told her I was going to a dinner party with some friends and that these are some of our party favors and also most importantly I am sober and driving in accordance with the law. She takes my information goes back to her car to check me for warrants or whatever and comes back with a warning on the cellphone "which was not true" and gives me a ticket for open container on the weed. She also dumps out all of my weed, which could have been oregano bc she didn't test it. The ticket was $170.00 ish I believe. Well instead of admitting guilt And paying this fine and having it on my record. I decided to hire Lauren for $350.00 and she got the case dismissed for me. Getting a speeding ticket is never a pleasant experience. You can either dwell on it, decide what options to take (whether you will fight it yourself, hide the ticket in the drawer--out of sight, out of mind) or you can just save yourself all the anguish and contact Emerald City Law. Not the CHEAPEST in terms of fees but to pay a little more, it's worth not having to shop around or wasting your time. Just keep in mind-- you're paying them to help you avoid penalties/points.. you'll have to pay the actual citation (usually less than the ticket specified). I got my ticket in November and had until March to pay it. Not horrible. My original ticket was for over $200+ and it was reduced to $124. And no points... which is what I was trying to aim for. (Note: First speeding ticket in 8 years-- might be different if your record is worse). If you want to avoid this problem altogether... don't speed!! But such is life... things happen.
