I called Emerald City Lock & Key after reaching out to a couple other shops and not receiving any follow-up. Robel, the owner, answered my call and was at my house within 20 minutes. What a relief! My thumb lock was on the verge of breaking and I didn't want to leave my house for fear of being locked out. He quickly repaired the thumb lock and let me know that I probably only have a year or two left on the lock--which I appreciated so I could watch out for it breaking for good. Robel did an amazing job for me! I bought a house, there were some locks with no keys. He was able to change all the locks to fit one key, one of the locks was a type of lock that couldn't be changed so he even went to the trouble of buying me a new lock and replacing that lock with just the fee for the lock. One hour ago, our son locked the door to the den in our almost new house. "You're not going to do any more work, Mama!" Mama's computer was in the den... funny kid but to our dismay we realized we didn't have a key! We tried but couldn't pick the lock. The windows outside were too high and secure to break in that way. We had no idea who could help us at 8 pm. A web search led us here and to Robell, who dropped whatever he was doing, drove to our home, opened the lock, child-proofed it, and is now gone. One hour. Robel is a wizard! First of all, he answered the phone very politely and quoted me right away so there was no confusion as to what to expect once he got here (very reasonable prices too). What was more interesting was when he was working on the apartment lock, he answered a call from a potential client who had already called another locksmith. He went out of his way to tell her to make sure she got a quote ahead of time and helped her to advocate the safest and best way to deal with the company she had already committed to. That spoke volumes to Robel's character. He did wonderful work; ensuring the locks were in tip top shape before leaving.
