We drove 4 1/2 hours to take advantage of our introductory offer of free stay and $200 back. Upon arrival no one was at the gatehouse to check us in. A sign in the window said "be back soon". After waiting in the heat for about 20 minutes I called the number I had for them and was told to use the microphone by the building and someone would come help. Well ok nice to know. We got checked in and were told they had no power or water. It would be on before 9 pm. And then they put us in the second row and said no one but members get the front row. Well you would think if they are trying to sell you a membership they would try to really treat you. There were several spots open in the front row. Our neighboring RV in the 2nd row was about 15 feet away from our front door. Their sewer hose ran right next to our picnic table. By the time e finally got settled in and were able to turn on the AC it was time for bed. The next morning we took our dogs down to the dog beach. Where exactly is it? Had to walk thru other people's camps to finally get to it. It was a pretty good walk from our location which was a bit hard for seniors with mobility issues. After the dog park we were pretty much ready to leave. The park has no shade and unless you want to sit outside and smell your neighbors sewage you have no other choice than to just sit in your RV. With dogs, we didn't want to leave them in the RV to annoy our neighbors who would surely be able to hear the if they barked. So we packed up and left and found a beautiful Arizona state park to stay at. Emerald Cove might be okay for some but it just wasn't it for us. read more

A year later we were back at Emerald Cove. Sometimes this is fabulous and sometimes not so much. We sure enjoyed it much more this time than last time because we didn't have the barking dogs next door. We always enjoy the little restaurant on site. It's nice to have a place to hang out in the afternoon and get a bit. Staying at Emerald Cove in March means that we arrive before the busiest season. The park was nice and lots of empty spots this time. However, one of the things we don't care for is ending up with 30amp instead of 50amp. We were just thankful it wasn't hot. The one BIG negative is that the rules state no ATV driving around the park. However, they don't enforce that at all. We do like this park and know we will return next year. read more

We've been members here since 1998 and absolutely love our time there. The RV spots are good size and several have bbq's. The store is stocked with everything you might need, the Tiki Bar has great food and drinks and there is always something going on. It's a fun escape away from the rat race. read more

My family and I booked a cottage for a week at their resort. A couple of them came from Washinton for the trip. A few days beforehand my mother who booked the reservation injured her back and is unable to go. I called to inform the resort of this change. They informed me that even though I am a signer on the account and allowed full access I am not able to check in for us. Apparently if I had made the reservation there would be no problem. They would not change the reservation name or allow me to cancel the reservation and remake it in my own name. I asked to be transfered to Robin who is the office manager. I know she has the ability to do this with no trouble. The lack of compassion and level of callousness shows me she has no business being in the customer relations compacity. My Mother is in tears right now with feeling responsible for ruining everyones trip. We really wish we has stayed clear of Colorado River Adventures and their timeshare as well as Emeral Cove Resort. We feel like we are connected to a company that doesn't care at all for their owners. We are still going on our trip! We are just going to have to pay someone else to give us what we already pay them for. I am emailing Robin the hospital receipt to prove my Mother was admitted otherwise she said we will still be charged for the week. What a pain stay away! There is clearly a lack of maintenance and care from management. The bar/clubhouse/restaurant which used to be and was advertised during the selling process as open. Is now rarely open. Many spaces are only 30 amp in a location in the desert. Why they have not been all upgraded to 50 amp is unknown and frankly a reasonable expectation. The "cabins" and trailers that can be rented are old and unkept. read more

What a great resort! Yes, we did listen to the sales pitch, and yes, we did buy in but we didn't feel pressued, it was more of a info session. We were Thousand Trails members in the past so having a membership is nothing new to us. This park blew us away and we had the best time. We had brought our 4 year old granddaughter with us and there was a ton to keep her busy. There is a really clean and organized kids club, pools, hot tubs, mini golf, excellent arcade, covered jungle gym, dog parks, restaurant (inexpensive and good), tiki bar. The park is right on the river, we did not take a river spot just for safety for the 4 year old. We also looked at a park model and was pleasantly surprised, very nice. Only downside were the very loud jet boats going up and down the river at all hours. They didn't bother us too much but we were not right on the water. The other RVers and kids were very respectful. We are looking forward to going back, maybe without the 4 year old ;-) read more

Reservations need to be addressed, due to the lack of consistency. We are members and this is our second time here, not an encouraging experience. The park has very muched aged. Pipes are old. Pedestals are old and only 30 amp. Most spots are very tight. The park was not full, but we were told we were unable to get a spot on the lake. The smell of sewer (methane) in the air was bad! None secure internet, which was very spotty, if it worked at all. The security and maintenance guys were very nice. The manager TIM could use some advice from them on social skills. Any future visitors BE AWARE OF TIM, he is ABRUPT, OVERBEARING, CONFRONTATIONAL, And DOWNRIGHT, RUDE!!!!!!! The most disgusting part regarding this park are the lack of attention and cleanliness to the restrooms. We were lucky to have seen them cleaned once a week. We will Never be back. Update: So this visit was disappointing. So surprised by how things have gone down hill since last summer. Had one of the cottages for a week. Don't get one on the end in same lane as the dog park. First the air conditioner in C14 was awful. Yes it was extremely hot, 114, but our friends were in C16 with a newer A/C and definitely was cooler than ours. Next: The parking on this row is bad only because some people don't think it's important for others to get out if there is an emergency. Picture is posted of my son's truck that he couldn't get out when my grandson had to go to ER because of bacteria in his eye from the River. His doctor told them to take him to ER to have it looked at since it was so swollen and red. So lucky our friends were there and we were able to use their car to take him. Later in the day I spoke to security and they said they would take care of it. We came back and nothing. I went to the people that were blocking the truck and they of course said they didn't know whose it was. Yeah right. So called to see if someone would come back to help us and was told my a woman that answered the phone, what do you want me to do? Wow!!!! Really???? Do what you are supposed to do, you're supposed to have everyone check in so you should know where the car belongs!!! So people working were useless. Finally one of the men went out and moved the car, oh yeah remember he said he didn't know who owned it. Parking 3 wide isn't supposed to be allowed anyway for fire and emergency vehicles. So sad the water was also the filthiest I have ever seen it in over 20yrs in this area. It was gross, but it was wet and cold. So definitely if your kids want to swim underwater just have them wear good goggles so they don't get bacterial infection like my grandson did. Doctor at ER said that the River at Emerald Cove is the worst with bacteria this year. Now for the Tiki Bar at the pool. Why haven't they fixed the ice cream machine since Memorial Day????? We all have paid a lot of money for our memberships and I would think either fix it or get a new one. It is hot in the summer and the families want ice cream, not the kind from the store. Ok so enough of my bitching. I really love to go to Emerald Cove but it was just sad and disappointing from the grounds to the staff. The working staff seems to be very pleasant and helpful. However, sitting here at my campsite, it smells like a sewer farm. There's bright lights everywhere. garbage cans are lit up. The Wi-Fi is terrible. The tiki bar is a beer and wine bar with deep fried food. You would think if they were trying to sell me a timeshare or whatever, they would have put me in a much better spot, I can't wait to get out of here. There's no actual security here. Thursday through Sunday loud neighbors and belligerent drunk partying until 3 am. Office pretends like they care during the day promising it won't happen again but won't actually do anything about it. Go zero sleep thanks to the rednecks need for everyone to hear them and security to be friends instead of doing their job. Would have taken the membership here had this been different but it's obviously a crappy spring break hub 24/7 and not an actual R&R retreat. There's also unsafe ATV driving in the park and loose dogs at any time with zero fencing and no one respecting the no dogs on beach rules. What a waste of time. Save yourself the frustration and go to literally any other RV lot on the river, maybe stay at the casino parking lot for free before you find out these people can't actually keep up with the 800+ site here and it just makes for a frustrating week read more

Stayed as a guest of a member in the resort provided trailer campers. Pros: everything seems clean despite it being very outdated. The AC in the trailer worked well. Cons: The trailer smelled like septic and the interior was very outdated. The pop out sloped hard downward and was awkward to sit on. It didn't feel safe but that's where they place the tiny couch and seating area. No pillows or linens provided. Bring your own! Tiki bar only serves wine based "mixed" drinks or beer. The website says that they do watersport rentals on site. They do not. They can give you a piece of paper with a few numbers on it for third party companies but that's it. It was impossible to get ahold of anyone from the resort beforehand to answer my questions and the website has outdated information. I tried via phone and email. Didn't realize that we had to bring pillows and linens so we had to sleep with rolled up beach towels all weekend. read more

Been a member for 20 plus years. Everybody is speeding in this park. Speed limit suppose to be 5mph. Even the employees sped tru the park in golf carts and their personal cars. First off I really ever post or complain.....I have been a member for 10+ years. Normally I have my rv or a 5th wheel out here. Recently decided to stay in park model rental. POS!!! I paid the same for this POS as I do for a cottage. Which btw I tried to rent only to be put on a waiting list. NO ONE came into the cottage I requested. Also there were a number vacant!!! As for the POS, sleeps 6. A queen and 4 bunk beds! The bunk beds only had a 2inch piece of foam, not memory foam either!!! I'm 60 and seriously sleeping on foam sucks!! I put 2 down not better. The other 2 didn't even fit the beds hung over the edge by 5-6 inches. So not happy !!! I will also call the management. However from past experience it falls on deaf ears. horrible customer service been a member for years, always have problems with robin and the booking staff. they are the rudest people I have ever dealt with. The parks are beautiful but they often mess up and will book you into a small cottage even when you have told them that you need a lrg cabin multiple times. They do not accommodate and they will tell you that your membership alone is an accommodation. Robin has no problem giving attitude to you if she has to take your calls, in fact she will down right belittle you. if there was a better booking staff 5 stars but for the staff alone who really determine where u stay i would never recommend staying here until it's fixed. they will rob you into a membership (that can be bought for over half the price cheaper online and then transferred) and will jack up your booking that you'll have to get a hotel to even enjoy the stay with your full party (speaking from experience - no accommodations given other than being a member I'm told) read more

Not our cup of tea, but not the worst. We were invited to stay at Emerald Cove Resort after purchasing our RV from camping world (90 min CRA presentation required - my review on Colorado river adventure & the presentation is under their name). The camp spots are so small and close. Maybe 10 ft apart, less If your neighbors have pop outs. While it's convenient that each spot has sewer, water, and electric hook ups....its also not pleasant eating next to someone's poop hose. Just saying. We didnt hang out by our camper much, if we were there, we went inside. Some people did gather, and weren't as off put as we were. All the other guests were friendly, and some of the retirees helped us navigate around a few times. You could tell they all stay a while and know each other as well as the staff. Some amenities were closed when we visited because of Covid, so we didnt get to see the club house (arcade?), or hot tubs. There is a little mini golf course that was cute, and the Tiki bar food was good and fairly priced. Didnt stay long enough to need laundry etc. Overall, we would pay to stay here if other camp grounds were full and we wanted to be close to the water. It however, wasn't worth a membership in our opinion. As we would choose the state camp ground or even some BML spots before staying here. read more

This was probably one of our favorite places we stayed in our camping adventure. You don't need a boat or jet skis to enjoy being here because there's something for everyone. There's a kids club called River Rat and yes they do practice social distancing while they do their crafts my daughter loved it. There are 2 pools one side has water volleyball and the other side has the regular pool along with a toddler pool. If you are not interested in the pool there's the River where you can enjoy swimming or just laying on a floaty to relax. They also have Mini Golf if you are in the mood for something different. If you forget anything or run out of milk ,bread or need anything for your RV they have a General Store. They do have showers in case the RV shower is taken and laundry machines. As a CRA member this was a great surprise and one of the top camping grounds in the membership we have stayed. read more

I was recently employed by this Company..Talk about a mess internally! I see these complaints regarding reservations, and I have personally witnessed the lack of respect for customers from the top down! if you don't appear financially stable on you "FREE 3 DAY 2 NIGHT STAY" they immediately treat you according! The website designer is now in charge of the phone room, totally unqualified and incompetent for the position and it shows! You may have a terrible experience if they hapopen to guilt you into buying in and then BOOM! they trap you with contracts and leave you stuck with the bill! I personally stayed in the "CABINS" which in reality are in my opinion outdated park models, I was in #16 and surprise!!! no air conditioning, they moved me after one night of hot misery last year mid summer!! next cabin, same thing no air conditioner that worked properly! I would NEVER EVER ALLOW FRIENDS OR FAMILY HERE!!!! Lack of respect for the people, they've been in business 30 years and they use that as a badge of honor, I worked there for almost 4 years and its been shady and far from wholesome family fun in my personal opinion.... read more

I have been a member here since 1995. Always have a trailer in storage to get pulled on and off a site for $50 each way. Totally worth it! EC is a home away from home. This week is the first time I am using a cabin on site. First the good news - location is spectacular! We sat on the beach reading and playing boardgames all week. The cabin is spacious and well designed with a porch as additional seating outside. Bad news - the sofa in cabin 1 is atrocious! We did not need it as a foldout but we had to sit on our bed pillows to get comfortable. The DVD player only played movies in black and white - no idea how that is, but it was weird. The tv volume on the highest level was not loud enough to watch a movie without moving the sofa closer. Lastly, the place needed cleaning especially the blinds, ceiling, and window sills. Fortunately everything that is "bad" is fixable. I hope our next trip will be even better if these things are addressed. read more

I have been a member for over six years. Today I called to get some membership usage questions and I ended up talking to Toni in billing. Of course I am expressing my frustration with Toni and she does not want to hear and basically said "have a good day sir" and hung up the phone. What happened to listening to the members? what happened to customer service? This membership is not cheap and your employees need to listen to the members and transfer me to the right department. Toni remember that if you do not have members like me your company will not have money to pay your salary. Emerald Cove needs to train their employees better. Some empathy and a solution to the problem goes a long way. Very disappointed, especially when Toni hung up on me because she did not want to hear what I wanted to say. Emerald Cove Resort is a membership based campground. This is not our regular campground but wanted to see what they offered as it is included in our membership. Can stay 2 weeks but stayed 9 days which was too long! This place should be called red neck central! It is located in California but is stuck on Arizona time? Why? If you complain about the "free" stuff, you knew what it was before you showed up! We arrived on a Friday and check in was brisk, no wait. We had never been here before and were surprised to get a beach front space to camp. The spaces are spacious and clean. The only eye sore was the rotting tires on the beater rental trailer next to us! Really? Can't afford to clean it up? There are a lot of old outdated beater rental trailers on this property. There is a weekly activity sheet that I got from the front gate when we came in but the next weeks sheet also had to be picked up at the front gate, which has NO sidewalk so you have to walk in the traffic lane. Had to wait for employees to stop yaking before I could pick one up. The proper thing to do would be to step aside and let the guests through! Why isn't the activity sheet available at the store? Resort store is large and fully stocked. Great variety and prices. We had kids with and hoped that they would enjoy the kids club, arcade and other kid activities however it was a holiday week so everything was shut down or hit and miss. Are you short staffed? Seems like they are. The miniature golf course was challenging but needed to be swept of old debris. Everything that was planned was well organized. There are NO I repeat NO activities close by to do or see, except the dam! Not ideal for kids, especially when everything is closed. Lets talk about the bar area! OMG! If you want to be or are a raging alcoholic and love BAD loud noisy late night music karaoke, then you'll love this place! Every Friday and Saturday 7pm to 11pm is bad karaoke time, so you can forget about enjoying the great outdoors or relaxing or sleeping! Bar opens at 11 am so you can get an early start. I ran into one person that was so drunk he could hardly walk and to top that off, he wasn't even staying at the resort. Obviously no security. I did go to member services to complain and was asked if I wanted to speak to the manager but hopefully he is involved, he knows and won't change anything! Corporate needs to know. The food was awesome, appetizing and served hot. Food employees were polite and knowledgeable. Prices were reasonable. Just before our last few days, I had to go to the store and buy water, which I can't carry back to our trailer, distance. I drove to the store and there were so many over-sized trucks and everyone was parked everywhere, I had a hard time driving through! This is the same street that everyone has to drive into the park on with their RV's. I was told that parking was bad because they were busy? Seriously? The only thing busy was the bar! You can drink then drive back to your campsite? There was a flotilla holiday parade on the Colorado River but nothing was ever mentioned by anyone! Why? Because I was told it was not affiliated with the park. So what? There's an awesome activity that nobody was told about! There was a golf cart light parade in the park but the flotilla parade won the night. I will scratch this campground from the list ... disappointed read more

Love this place! There is so much fun things to do here. They have an arcade, mini golf course, golf cart rides, and a pool with 2 hot tubs and a volleyball net. They also have karaoke night on Friday and Saturday nights at 6pm until 11pm! They also have a Tiki bar which is perfect for every meal. They also have very pretty cabins and the riverfront is super fun to play in. Highly recommended read more

I was there 3 nights and 4 days. The temps were over 100 everyday. Yet their electricity was not able to sustain all the RV's that were hooked up. You can't say it's the RV if everyone is having the problem. the bathroom were clean on Friday morning but sucked every other morning.! Dirty and gross! The food at the bar but the employees are not happy to be there. The store is good and employees are very friendly. I suggest not going during the hot winter months unless you can handle having no AC. Their Electric infrastructure is not updated and you will suffer. They really need to spend just a little bit of money and have the basics updated. A new shower head in the last shower would be decent. Having breakers work would be amazing... read more

Service wasn't great. I had to continually ask for service, refills, water, ordering food etc. I learned that this is a members only resort. I checked into the prices etc and was astonished at what you don't get for the price you pay. There's many other resorts in the area. I'll pass on this one for sure. read more
