I found Lake Country and decided to drive over to see what inventory they had. Driving up to the store immediately made you wonder if you were in the right place as it was a well manicured farm, farm house, outbuilding for another business and the stand alone jewelry store. Country looking building. Walked in to see show cases outlining the front room and in the back was the repair equipment. I was treated immediately by Michelle and she asked me all sorts of questions to try and narrow down my search. Showed me many options and explained the differences. I needed something special for a birthday that would also be used for an upcoming wedding and eventually I found exactly what I was looking for. Never any pressure. We discussed pricing and they wrapped it for me. And the gift...her eyes were wide as saucers when she opened it, and she loves the earrings. Great experience and I will come back here for other items in the future. It is worth the visit if you are looking for high end jewelry.

After 3 months, I called and they weren't ready. After 2 more weeks, I called again and they were supposedly started but not done. A couple more days went by so I called again. One watch was done, the other one was not. After 'hemming and hawing', Michell gave the phone to Jeff. He said it would be at least 2 more months if they could even work on the second watch. It turns out he didn't have tools or access to parts for that watch. It was like pulling teeth to get him to admit that! His work seems to be good, his communication is abysmal. We had him close up the second watch and took it across town to another jeweler to get this one worked on. Very disappointed!!

You want your white gold bridal bands rhodium dipped, you will pay per ring. So the way to get this cheaper is to solder them together, which you will pay for. By the way, because they don't tell you this, when you solder them together they may not fit. You should consider getting them resized. Oh and they charge for that too. You want your appraisal updated, it's not free. Over the past year I have apparently chipped three diamonds. I did not know diamonds chipped, apparently that's a thing. I understand paying for them, but find it funny that I have had these rings for several years and never had an issue until recently. I have another ring from a mall jeweler and they stand by all the work. I lost a diamond and they replaced it for free. They rhodium dip my ring for free. Recently they resized it for free. They also reinforced the back of the band that I thought was thining for free. I am supposed to get this ring checked every six months for the warranty to be valid and have not because I have not been wearing it, it just sits in my jewelry box. That's okay, they recently checked it and re-validated the warranty. I have also purchased jewelry at Kessler's. Kessler's is amazing! They have a great warranty and stand behind their work and all your purchases. If I need anything done in the future I will be going to Kessler's. We will never go back to Gold Creations. They have lost our business. I used to tell everyone to go there I will now be telling everyone NOT to go there! Word of mouth is a great marketing tool!

When I showed my watch to one of the associates, he admired how unique the bezel looked and commented on it. You can tell the employees here are passionate about jewelry and watches. While I was waiting for my watch battery to be replaced, I took a quick look at all the gorgeous pieces that they have at the store. I noticed unique antique pieces as well as gemstones and diamonds. A gorgeous pink tourmaline piece caught my eye and I fell in love with how unique it looked. The next day I found out that the ring had a spot on the metal and I brought it back where the amazing jewelers fixed it up! I will definitely be returning to Sullivan and I'm really glad small businesses like this exist! It's about care, selection, and the quality of the pieces. Thanks again!

I compared their rings to many other big-box stores and I found that at Sullivan's, you could customize the bands and it would be more cost effective. More importantly, you wouldn't be getting something that EVERYONE else has. The service was great. Over the course of a couple visits, we had a few people help us, including the owner Jeff. Jeff was friendly and personable in our experience. He even polished up my partner's old ring at no charge after we purchased our new ones. I'm surprised there aren't any reviews yet for this shop. I definitely recommend checking it out before going to department store.

The big box jeweler had a guy come once a month to do it, and of course I just missed that date so I had to wait a whole month. The whole time I was afraid that something might happen to it while it being uninsured. After getting it appraised, I was shocked to see how much they charged me for the appraisal. They definitely didn't let me know that it was going to be that much when I talked to them on the phone. It was like a monthly ring payment. Now, this year I had bought a wedding/anniversary band for my wife. And I was faced with the same issue...where to get it appraised. I had to wait for the date this guy would show up and they charged an arm and a leg. For a $1000 ring they wanted $150 to do the appraisal. So I decided to look elsewhere. I stumbled upon Midwest Gem Lab, Inc on Yelp. I went to their website, and their business looked very professional. What I liked best about them was that they offered their rates up front (no hidden costs). And their rates were half that of what I would have paid anywhere else...either from where I went to last time, or anywhere that I researched. So I decided to give them a call. They answered the phone promptly and were very polite and very helpful answering my questions. I asked them if I could make an appointment to drop the ring off. I started to look at my calendar for dates that were two weeks out. But she told me that I could stop by today and it would only take an hour! Wow, that is great. I wasn't expecting that. I decided to stop in the following day. Their building was very easy to get to. It's right on Bluemound and Calhoun. As I entered, I was politely greeted and taken back to her office. I gave her my ring and then left to run an errand. I came back and she was already waiting for me with my ring and the appraisal. She explained the appraisal and informed me what she did to come up with that value. Fantastic...last guy never explained anything. I took a mother's ring in to Kelvin Schroeder's to be resized - from a 9 to a 10. In the process of…read moreresizing my ring, one of the birthstones was broken. Initially, the replaced stone extended below the ring sharply poking into my finger, and the holes on the inside of the ring, where the 4 stones were set, were not uniform. I asked that it be repaired so the stone didn't scrape and irritate my finger. I heard more than once from Kelvin it was costing him so much to make the needed repairs (Keep in mind his goldsmith fractured the stone). Kelvin called me and asked if it was important the stones be in the same order as they were when I initially brought the ring in. I replied yes - they were in my children's birth order. When I picked up the ring, Kelvin had me hastily sign a paper releasing them of any further repair obligation. He was condescending and couldn't get me out the door fast enough. Quality of workmanship was poor - ring is not round as it was before. And, the stones are NOT in the correct order. I'm very disappointed. I will take the ring to another jeweler to have it made right. I will NEVER use Kelvin Schroeder Jeweler for any of my jewelry needs again.

I always kept up with the cleanings for the warranty. Within the last 3 years I have had it repaired 4 times by Kay's and every time I got it back I would either lose the same stone or another one would come out, to the point where they said my warranty was voided and I was paying out of pocket for the repairs. The last time I had worn it one day after they had fixed it at Kays and another stone fell out....so frustrated. My husband after that refused to get it fixed anymore and I thought this might be hopeless. I really love this ring so I decided maybe it's not me maybe it's just not getting fixed right. And what do you know I was right! The gentleman at Mid Continental Gems said that whoever I had taken it to before did not fix the post right for the diamond to stay in place.
