We've been using Emerald Lawns for a couple of years. Most recently we received an irrigation audit. It gave us piece of mind after the winter storms to know our system was in good shape. We had one small break they repaired. They also programmed our system with a watering schedule specific to our lawn's needs and left us a written copy of the schedule. We also use their monthly plan for lawn treatment and tree/shrub care plan. We've received compliments from neighbors about how weed free and green it is. Their plans are flexible, you're not locked in to a contract. This is why I first decided to try them and have been very happy with the service. I don't have time for calls during my work day so I like how they leave a message to let me know what day they'll be by. And if I need to contact them I either email or leave a message with their after hours service. I've even texted the techs before. Great service for busy people! read more

Rudy is an outstanding employee and I have nothing but praise as the whole time , what I have been asking for is an open line of communication between the parties requesting the service and the parties servicing. Ryean Colby did an OUTSTANDING job servicing our sprinklers and more importantly training me on how to correctly operate our Rainbow sprinkler control system. He also expertly 'educated' me on the types of sprinklers we have on each of our zones and how they need to differ from each other depending on what types of plants/grass they're sprinkling. In doing all of the above, Ryean also showed me how we can save a lot of water and $. Because I had forgotten to ask him yesterday, at my request, he came back again this morning and quickly sourced a leak and fixed that. We've been using Emerald Lawn with great satisfaction for all of the almost 8 years we've lived in this home. Had been using them for a couple of years. They used to be great but they have started indulging in shady practices recently. Firstly they started advertising on the lawn without consent. Secondly, they do not respect postponement and will try to push for a service prior to the agreed upon date. Recently they started notifying us of an upcoming service just a day before and that too late in the afternoon. This leaves a very small window for rescheduling. These practices leave a bad taste in the mouth and i would not recommend them going forward. read more

We've used Emerald Lawns for years now. In addition to taking care of our yard, their customer service is exceptional. Their technicians go above and beyond and do "little" things like blow leaves off the porch when they're done working. These "little" things tell us how they approach the "big" things -- like applying fertilizer, weed and pest management, aeration and even managing our holiday lighting. They also take social distancing seriously, which is an added bonus. Today, our technician Silvestre Salgado took the time to explain our aeration treatment and exactly what was being done. He was especially helpful, courteous and knowledgeable. Additionally, Brooke H. is always very helpful with helping us add services, schedule service and answer technical questions about treatments. Friendly technicians that service your yard, but after a year (15 months), have not seen the results I was expecting. They've come back out to retreat and the results are still the same - weeds, pale looking, no improvement. Finally gave up when I asked to speak to someone other than the technician for help. I was looking for someone that didn't just want to sell me up, but rather someone who could help me understand why the yard wasn't getting better after 15 months. Called the office and they told me they would get a manager to contact me. Got an email from Rudy, their resolution specialist, a week or so later who told me over email that he would get the area manager to contact me. A few days later, someone called while I was driving and asked if I wanted to talk to a manager, I said yes and then the call ended. After a few days, emailed Rudy back and he responded that Jesus had called me twice last week on two different days. I don't know who Jesus is, was that the area manager? Office, Rudy, Jesus, who is the person that would be able to help? Went ahead and cancelled the service. For what they charge, you don't get the results you expect. I just wanted a weed free yard. Good company, their chemical really works. They uses a nice blended top soil and liquid aeration, so no damage to my sprinklers. The people who came and treat the lawn are all very respectful and explain all my concerns to be very detailed. I really like to read their reports and what they did on the lawn. We've been using Emerald lawns for about 4 years. In that time our lawn has gone from the best looking lawn in the neighborhood to the worst. Last year I called several times and got excuses like the technition diluted the week killer too much. They kept saying we'll have a manager come out to meet with you. I kept getting more weeds and no manager ever kept an appointment. The final straw was when I got a warning from the HOA to do something about my lawn. I never agreed to additional services that you're charging me for. I agreed to $386 in services in which I have paid $200 worth as I reached out to your service team and let them know I was dissatisfied with the services in October and no one followed up. (I will HAPPILY pay the $186 if you actually do your job that I'm paying for). I also did NOT authorize services to continue in January as I was specifically told to resign up in the Spring for what I wanted. Shady business practices. No transparency on billing. Zero follow through on the supposed "customer service". This is an update to my original rating of Emerald Lawns. I contacted Aaron Carter of Emerald Lawns to discuss my concerns and issues with the condition of our lawn. We arranged to meet at the house so he could walk the property and decide what should be done. The meeting was very informative and productive. We decided to do the next scheduled service and see if things improved. The service was done a few weeks ago and fortunately, we received some much needed rain. Bottom line, the lawn looks great, it's thick and healthy with just a few thin spots near the road. A technician was sent to the house a few days ago to inspect the condition of the lawn. He didn't find any problems but did add fertilizer to the thin areas to help stimulate growth, no charge. I am happy with the results and very impressed with Emerald Lawns excellent customer service. I can now say that I have one of the nicest lawn in the neighborhood, thanks to Emerald Lawns. read more

Second time I've terminated services. The only way to treat a 1 acre lot in 16 minutes is to do it poorly. Last time I cancelled got a call from a "manager" who instead of helping wanted to argue with me why I was wrong. Let that sink in - the business had an unhappy customer and they took the time call to the the customer why they are wrong (despite that customer,me, having video from 3 separate cameras validating the complaint). I purchased a new house in Pflugerville and started using Emerald Lawns back in 2016. Got lots of referrals from Friends on Emerald Lawns. I decided to try them out. I was very happy with the results and used them for 3 years. I have had some concerns when I might get an occasional weed here and there, but all I needed to do is call customer service and they would send someone out to take care of it. At the end of 2018 I discontinued my service thinking that i could take care of the weed problem myself. Boy I was wrong and the weeds came back with a vengeance. Requested service on my sprinkler system. Had a few problems scheduling the service, but when they assigned Jake to my case things went smoothly. Jake was great he found two line breaks and fixed them, as well as tuning the sprinkler heads. Service was painless and he explained the cost of the repairs up front. Horrible service! I have paid--and then paid some more--for services that were, in my opinion, done so poorly that there was no benefit, or perhaps even worse. One example: I paid more than $500 for lawn aeration, but there was no way to tell if it had been accomplished. And about two weeks later, when a different service team came out, they told me that grass wasn't growing in one spot because it needed aeration. What?? I guess they wanted another $500 to (not?) do it again. I've communicated with different field teams, managers, and customer service, each of which promised to fix things, but nothing was done. I have begun to communicate with a legal expert to attempt to resolve this financial fiasco. read more

He seemed to sincerely care about the negative review and was willing to do more than I expected to allow him to change my opinion...and tbh, the review. He wants to be successful and that means satisfied clients. He offered a couple of free treatments. The treatments were effective. The service program itself appears to be very good. My mother's lawn, in a nearby neighborhood, is near perfect. I feel the problem was with the technician. We asked for a different tech but the answer was no. So we made sure we were here when he came to do the treatments and make sure he hit all of the areas which was a huge problem previously. It all worked out. Hired to treat weeds in my lawn but instead of killing the weeds, they killed my grass. A bunch of bare spots were created by them and the weeds remained. Brought this to the attention of Chris and was told it would be taken care of when the weather got warmer. Warm weather came and nothing, I then called the main office and was put in touch with Aaron(VP of Sales). I then expressed to him that when they fixed the damage I would gladly continue paying for the treatments. He said he would contact Chris. I was told that when they did their first assessment of my lawn that the technician wrote that my lawn was 90% weeds..,if that was the case, my entire lawn would be a bare field of dirt. Chris told my cousin when he came to sprinkle some grass seed that he would return with sod...I'm still waiting. Fast forward to now and I've been sent to collections for $152.52 and they still haven't fixed the damage they've done or kill the weeds they promised. Horrible service, so much for "Satisfaction Guaranteed"...should probably remove that off their website. read more

When I called them to come help take care of my yard, I had very view weeds, just wanted the help to maintain and grow the yard. But now my yard is bare and full of what I believe to be crab grass(which I was told by them it was winter rye). When I had a manager come out to look at the yard he continually tried to tell me things I should be doing with my yard, which I responded with "yes, I've been doing those things." I asked "when your technicians come out to spray the yard and other work, if they see something I should be doing, are they supposed to report it to me?" The response was, "well, yes." But I never got that. With the terrible customer service and treatments I now I have to spend a lot more money to fix the mistakes and try to get my lawn back to where it was. They're clearly very nice people that built a solid business and are having issues scaling it. I wish them success and luck in doing so, and hope in the future that they can partner with vendors and staff that will care for their business and customers as they do. -------------------------------------- Wishing I did not pay in advance for multiple treatments! The first few months were fantastic and we were happy loyal customers. Then things started to slip, and the stellar results they helped us achieve started to disappear as weeds took over despite our following their every direction. After two weeks of getting multiple assurances that someone would be out "the next few business days" to look at our lawn, we are still waiting. Zero concern, zero apology, and zero accountability has been taken by Emerald Lawns when I brought this to their attention. They really just don't care. Spend your money elsewhere on a company that wants to keep your business. An example of what I am talking about...after multiple back and forth emails with their assurances that someone would be out I receive: "we do our scheduling one day in advance, Therefore I cannot tell you what day will be out to treat your weeds again we will text you the day prior" Complete lack of punctuation and grammar aside...if you schedule one day in advance then SCHEDULE ME FOR TOMORROW?! Can you even comprehend the nonsense, absurd brush-off of a response you just sent me? I've already been waiting by the phone, keeping my gate unlocked and my dog inside with your empty promises of a text the day before-- so I guess I work for you now since I am still hanging. I finally sent them the following email: "There clearly has not been anyone out in this month despite my being assured someone would be out "the next few business days" 13 days ago. This is incredibly disappointing as things were going so well with this partnership in our lawn care. It is not acceptable to me to trust that you will come out as you have not held up to your word to me in doing so thus far. It is unacceptable to me that despite me articulating this to you, there is not a single word of apology or accepting accountability from Emerald Lawns in not holding up your end of our agreement. Nor will you even guarantee a day for my service at all! I have no idea what happened since January to cause this gross lack of customer service and reliability, but consider this my termination of your services. I would either like a refund for the remainder of the year that I paid for in advance, or your confirmation that you understand that our professional relationship is terminated upon our last treatment." David from Emerald came out and took a look at my yard. Turns out the weeds were worse than I thought. It wasn't going to be a quick fix, and start of winter was not the time to do anything drastic. Rather than try and sell me something now anyway, David just recommended I perform routine maintenance until spring and then he'll come back out and we can start a treatment plan. I would like to give 4 or 5 stars but over the years Emerald Lawns has made it difficult. I have been a customer for many years and their staff are always kind, professional, and customer-service-focused. In addition, their prices are quite reasonable and competitive. The primary reasons behind the 3-star rating is their scheduling process. As mentioned, over the years I have been a loyal, regular quarterly customer. Since I started service with them there is only one day I am available as I want to be home when treatment is done. Regularly I get/got calls about scheduling on a day that I am unavailable. I would phone back and mention and the person I speak with would check and sure enough the notes were there. I believe I came to learn that notes are service-specific and not customer-level-specific. Meaning, there are separate notes for the trees & shrubs service vs. regular maintenance vs. some other service. So, I think we finally have that all worked out (hopefully it has been about 6 years now, haha). The related issue that is driving my rating is how calls are made. I can get three different calls in one day/week about people coming out. So, as in the example above - I received one call to inform and confirm that someone was coming this week for maintenance. Then I receive another call that someone is coming out for a separate, one-time treatment. If my trees & shrubs were due this week I would receive a third call. I understand that their business model/practice is that different people schedule these services which is why there are separate confirmations. TBH, I don't care and shouldn't have to care. It seems this process was developed without the customer as the focus. I should receive a single call to confirm any and all services for that day/week vs. 2+. It main seem trivial but (1) it is an inconvenience (not matter how small or large) and (2) results in me making multiple calls because I don't answer the phone if I don't know the number due to all of the SPAM/phishing/spoofing calls that I get regularly. The bottom line, I am still a loyal customer and appreciate the work they do. I just wish these scheduling processes would be revisited. read more

Beware! I had them for a year. Didn't notice any improvement. In fact, my lawn got worse. Full of weed. After every "treatment" I would get this elaborate email about everything they added and did to my lawn. But their emails didn't jive with the actual state of my lawn. I wasn't home during most of these treatments. So I decided to check on my cameras what their guys were doing. Apalling! Their "specialist" was in and out in less than 5 minutes. Another time he didn't even step on my backyard. Parked his truck, sprayed a little on my front, and then drove off. Guess what. I got a lengthy email with all the "treatments" they did. It was just a canned response. No wonder my lawn looked like no one was taking care of it. I could have done a better job myself. My neighbor had the same experience and also canceled after the first year. If you read all their negative reviews, you will find the same thing. Many other customers who checked their cameras discovered the same thing. They do an excellent job mass-mailing and advertising everywhere. They sign up thousands of houses and bill them $60 a month without doing anything. Nice profitable business model. I switched to Real Green. So far, they have been great. After my 1st year with Real Grean: night and day difference. I am on my 2nd year with them. I have checked my cameras a few times. They actually spend the time and trouble going over my entire lawn, front to back. Completely weed free and lush green grass. I hope Real Green stays this way. read more

I wish I could give them even more stars when I had the pleasure of meeting Brad L. when he came to the house to fix a couple of valves that had sprung a leak in our irrigation system. TREE & SHRUB: My first experience today with Emerald, 4/14/21, with Technician RYAN and his Apprentice KOREY. They were wonderful; I learned so much and they did not hurry at all with my service. Today they applied tree and shrub treatments to my landscape that will help protect against attacking insects and control any fungus. The formula also has micronutrients to help and stimulate the plants. No additional watering is required. It was great talking with them both today, I learned so much and asked a bunch of questions. I'm happy with the service and especially their customer service! Essential! They are part of a contest at work and HOPE THEY WIN! They deserve it...
