If I could give a NO STAR - we would. We have used Emerald Lawns for over a year and have continuously had to call them back out for service. We canceled the lawn service because they couldn't get rid of the weeds but were still charging us. We paid extra for their Mosquito treatment and again had to continually request them back out because the mosquitoes were so bad. We watched on our back yard-pool camera the last couple of times they stated they came out and no one ever showed to service the canisters in the back. We had a bunch of family in for the 4th of July long weekend and it was miserable with all of the mosquitoes. We have canceled and will not be recommending this company for any of their services. read more

I hired Emerald when I first moved into a new house (knew nothing about lawns/trees, etc.). I had a few miscommunications based on a misleading sales guy, but the management took care of me and were fair in the approach. Recently the team ran over a septic tank lid and it broke the casing. Greg was the regional manager and came to look and was really friendly and communicative about the issue instead of trying to make me feel like I was a pain. He's one of those guys who has a ton of potential and likely will end up moving into upper management soon, but until then, Emerald is lucky to have him. I mistakenly took that to mean that it is pesticide free. Not true. Their only solution for weeds is to use Round Up which contains glyphosate. Emerald Lawns has become our resource for advice which is followed up by prompt execution of their recommendations. Over the years they have dramatically improved our lawn, shrubs, and trees. Today, Brad and Clayton arrived to inspect our sprinkler system after the snow storm last month. They performed a comprehensive evaluation of our entire watering system with great attention to detail. They adjusted head coverage, and reprogrammed our timer to meet watering requirements for our specific lawn as well as the City of Bee Cave. We are good to go. Was looking for help with our new lawn. Requested a quote on aeration and their fertilization treatment. Had a technician come out (she texted me after 9p to confirm when she was able to come out the next day). Estimate was pretty thorough and listed pretty much every service they provide with pricing which I appreciated. I took a couple of days to review the info and responded with the services i was interested in. Didn't hear from anyone for a couple of days so I asked if I needed to call the company directly. After 3 days of trying to purchase a service that I was interested in, I called the company only to be told that they don't offer the core aeration only liquid. This was not explained to me and the lack of communication is a factor as to why I will just pass on this company. I am in nearly $3,000.00 to Emerald lawns. My lawn has went from best to worst in almost 3 years of svc. Its a weed factory now with patches of dead everywhere. There is grub damage on top of who knows what else. They have had various managers out here all with the same promise to make it right.....they have not made it right. I have asked for contact from the owner....a visit to talk through what is going in and how we can fix it. I have given chance after chance.....nada. I am the guy that will leave glowing reviews if treated properly and would still change this review...but doubt it will ever happen so here I am. I see many people leaving reviews of the same thing....seems like a pattern. I work for Dell in services so understand what good service is. The guys thay have came out were very pleasant and seemed sharp...but after multiple visits and treatments...it just gets worse...weed killer seems to grow weeds and the whatever they are or arent doing is killing my grass or at least no helping AT ALL! All in all....horrible experience...do not waste your time and hard earned money. read more

I have been using Emerald Lawns to take care of my lawn and trees and shrubs for over a year now. Michael Morrison is my current lawn technician. I am proud to say that I have one of the nicest lawns in my neighborhood. I was actually told this by the guy that mows my lawn and so many others in my neighborhood. Michael makes sure to contact me to let me know the day before that I am scheduled for a service. I have 4 dogs so it's imperative I know what time he will be out. He then calls me and gives me at least a 15 mins heads up that he will be at my home which gives me time to ensure that my dogs aren't outside. Once Michael is done with the application, he sends me detailed notes on what was done and any special instructions needed such as if the application requires to be watered or not. Michael has always been very professional and helpful. I highly recommend Emerald Lawns! read more

Used Emerald Lawns for over a year but never got my yard to look as good as my neighbors. Pointed this out to the service provider several times. Finally decided to cancel. Emerald Lawns returned twice more to try to make the service good. Still no improvement. Yet Emerald Lawns expected to pay for the two additional service calls made to my home without my authorization. I refused to pay for service that I did not authorize and for service that did not work. Emerald Lawns turned me in for collection. Don't use Emerald Lawns. They won't let you quit even if their lawn service doesn't work. Big waste of money. read more

We had a great experience with Ryean who came to checkup on our sprinklers. He was very knowledgeable and patiently answered all our questions and concerns. He made some adjustments and reported that our sprinklers were in good condition. He was honest as he didn't try to charge us for extra services we wouldn't need including when we asked him if we needed an extra sprinkler for the new peach tree we planted and he answered that our current sprinkler coverage was enough. read more

They are very good at adhering to their schedule of service, making sure you're promptly billed, and being completely inept at taking care of your yard. I can easily say my yard is far worse off after more than a year of their service and all I have to show for it is an empty bank account. I'm posting specifically to praise Emerald's lawn tech specialist Trai Jefferson. He visited me two days ago, phoning ahead & making a point of arriving before I had to leave home for an appointment. I wanted to talk with him about a bad patch in my back lawn. Trai diagnosed it very well & told me exactly what to do. His explanations were very clear--even eloquent--a long way from any such workers I'd ever met who weren't clear or whose English wasn't great. I was very impressed with Trai. Horrible please don't not trust anything tge company says my trees and shrubs are all dead , fig , kaffir line leaves , orange , crypt myrtle. The agents come sit in the car for an x amount of time and then go away without doing any applications. Am forwarding you photos of my lawn which is filled with weeds instead of grass , and I pay them 1200 or 1300 annually. I would love to post the pictures but am not being able to. read more

I've been with this company for last 2 years and they have been providing good service up until last month, but all of a sudden I see their service has turned to worse and no one shows up even after calling multiple times to treat my lawn even after scheduling a call. Also I noticed they that are charging for the services multiple times that they should be doing only once a year (grub worm control should be done only once and they were doing it twice which is expensive for me).   When I confronted them, all I get is a response that they've got some new people and they are messing the things up. I had contracted Emerald lawn to take care of my lawn while I was away so that my wife didn't have to worry. After contacting many companies I could not decide on who to go with. Emerald lawns stood out to me because they were prompt and showed up when they said they would be there. Recently I had to contact Emerald because they put down weed control and it damaged my St. Augustine. Within four hours of contacting Emerald they had a technician out to assess the problem. Ryan from Emerald Lawns came out to my Orchard Ridge house to do the irrigation audit. He gave me advice and recommendations on not just the irrigation, but also everything else regarding my lawn and drainage issues. I'm still waiting on the estimate and quote for everything. But other than that, it was a good experience and Ryan knows what he's talking about and I can tell he loves what he does. So that made me feel comfortable about everything. He didn't rush me and didn't make me feel like he had to go. so he took his time with me, I had a lot of questions and requests and he was patient with me. great job, and I'll be sticking with Emerald Lawns. read more

I initially hired Emerald Lawns for support with our lawn. On our initial consultation, I advised our consultant that we were having issues with our sprinkler system. The lawn tech advised Emerald was building out their sprinkler support, and they stated their guy Brad would be able to help. Brad was very helpful with the sprinkler system so when he mentioned his availability for side work, I took him up on it. That side work went mostly well, but he did not follow through as expected. Lesson learned, I will stick with companies who will follow through on promised work. As for the lawn services, after about 6 months of using Emerald Lawns I have decided to discontinue using their services. Each month someone from Emerald would visit and put down various treatments, one being something to abate my weeds. Ironically each visit the technician would comment that I had too many weeds that should be addressed. There are still numerous dead spots with my lawn as well. As a result, I no longer see value with the monthly lawn services. I have decided to lower my review rating as I have not seen the improvement I thought I would with my lawn. read more

About 2 months ago we had our yard treated for ants (1 year treatment). When we called to schedule the treatment they were here in 2 days (of course because we had to pay), but after 2 months the treatment stopped working. When we called back so they could come and retreat our yard they told us it was going to take 3 days. It's been a week and no signs of anyone coming out. My daughter is allergic to fire ants and even though I let them know, there response was, well I can expedite it, but that doesn't guarantee anything. I was like What? It's been a week! I am not pleased at all. With not being able to take your kids anywhere because of covid, it was awful to hear there response more incline to this is our process and we will get to it when we can vs how can I make this better for you. I would not recommend them at all. On a different note they also treat our yard and we have a piece that is in pretty bad shape and when we asked the technician why it was like that he said oh that's because it's been very hot and this type of grass (Augustine grass) does not like the sun. If you are thinking of using emerald lawns to install mulch, I would think twice and ask lots of questions. Get their promises on paper. I hate leaving bad reviews, but I feel I have to. In summary I paid $996 for a $400 quality mulch install. For me this was the classic bait and switch sales technique. The salesman promised that for $996 they would: 1. Remove the top layer of old mulch before installing the new mulch, but they didn't. (They just used a blower to blow whatever was loose away, which doesn't pick up the old mulch.) 2. For $120 extra, they would pull up all the weeds in the flower beds. Well they pulled up a few for sure, but a great majority of the weeds are still there because they only yanked them from top, instead of pulling up the root. 3. He said if I left a few potted plants out, they would plant them where I position them. Well they didn't do that either. I lost about $75 of plants that died waiting to be planted. 4. The mulch is low quality with little nutritional value. It looks great painted though! It came in clear, non branded bags, so I'm guessing they got it on the cheap. 5. It took them about 3 weeks for them to come out, with many emails from me asking for a date. I emailed the salesman I worked with to try and resolve this, but I was ignored. So buyer beware! If I were you, i'd stay away, but if you do go with Emerald Lawns for mulch, get them to write their promises on paper and sign it. They also require full payment up front for the mch (probably because they know they are going to screw you) read more

I agree with other posters here. I believe good service should foster good reviews. This is not one of them. "If you would like a response when you fill out requests for a service call, hire another company." Customer service and results have gone way down hill for us too. I'm constantly requesting service calls and constantly following up on those requests when days go by and I don't hear back unless I complain. I pre-paid over $1200.00 for service this time around to get the discount. BIG MISTAKE. They have our money, so it must be on the the next sucker instead of taking care of the customer. They recently started sending a new kid over that has no idea what's going on. I've watched him. I'll update this review when I get a call back and service at the house. read more

Got a very high water bill recently, I believe due to some broken sprinkler heads. Jake and Blake came by today, did a full inspection, and repaired the heads. They just scraped some grass off the top and threw down some sod. That of course did not root because they didn't replace any soil underneath. Let me say, I really wanted to be able to give Emerald Lawns a better review . This company came out with what I considered to be a quote that was high, but I wanted to try to allow them to improve my lawns health . Upon treatment beginning in March they initially were able to green my lawn but after scheduled treatments through early May 2019 they did not continue treatment until early July. Various weed and crabgrass persisted .I literally had to call them to come to retreat the weed and consistently got one excuse after another or just told they would comeback. Months would pass while weeds continued to grow .Fast forward to early July weeds currently persist many excuses and no shows . Recommendation: stay away from this company ,unless you want to have you lawn maintenance cost you many times more than you could pay to do it yourself . I treated my lawn myself for the past decade and it looked much better and cost soo much less without the hassle of having to deal with Emeralds poor service / poor execution...
