We've used Emerald Lawns for treatment of our yard for over a year now and it looks great. After the snowstorm, we had Emerald Lawns come out and do an assessment of our irrigation system and they found an wiring issue with one of the zones. We were given two repair options and we opted for the more expensive option to avoid more issues down the road. Brad and Jake did an awesome job and completed the repair quicker than estimated. They also fixed our drip lines in the front yard that I somehow managed to hack holes into while doing yard work + set our irrigation schedule to better fit our watering needs. A++ all around - so grateful to have the system in working condition again! read more

I've had a few lawn services, and thus far, I've had quite a few disappointments. Overcharges, folks not showing up for service, and yet _still_ charging, and strangers actually lying in my lawn, making personal phone calls. I mean, some weird stuff. None of these things happened with Emerald, so... that's a plus. But, after months of service, and trying to get with the folks who sold the package to us to come through on their deliverables, we just weren't happy. In truth, our lawn looked _terrible_. Weeds all over, and despite contacting the office, and despite our tech coming out and giving us free re-treatments (a really wonderful benefit of this company! When they say they guarantee their work, they truly do!). Despite all the hard work, though, we were just left with a bit of a mess. When Jen came out to sell us the package, she went into detail about their molecular-green-weed-munching products, and how sometimes it could take _weeks_ for weeds to break down. For us, it seemed like nothing ever broke down. On top of that, when you're getting the hard-sell, all you hear about is how if you go with a company that combines both mowing services and weeding services, you won't get the bang for your buck (I can say that's the case for most lawn care services, as others had said the same). Since we switched, though, and combined service, we've been more than satisfied. A little less ($-wise) for the treatments, same or better quality products, and still green (and, now, weed-free!). I think it's important to note that Emerald Lawns doesn't mow, but they will give you a recommendation; keep in mind that the recommendation only mows a certain area, so it may not be useful to you, as it wasn't for us. In total, for a service that's going to run you at least $55 to upwards of $100+ in 8 different installments, you might as well find a good fit. It was our experience that Emerald wasn't, but they do do all they can to meet a customer's expectations, and in the service industry, we all know how hard that is! Look, there comes a point, at least for me, when it comes to deliverable services where... if things just aren't matching up, it's better to let go (try to find another service) than it is to continually gouge the company you're not matching up with for free stuff. If you know what I mean? I would feel terrible taking free lawn treatments until I found my happy. ;D Especially if it's something with my lawn being inordinately difficult! Yes, I think our records match up. Honestly, I thought you guys had come out for _3_ services, and then the tech set up _3_ (one on his own, two on Jen's recommendation), but I could be off on that. When you have more than a few things going on, it's easy to lose track of lawn events. ;D Regardless, though, every time I was able to share the situation, you guys always came back out to re-treat. Sadly, my issue was that even the re-treatments didn't seem to do any good. After reading your reviews, I'd venture a guess that people either LOVE your service (because the chemicals match up, and your staff are genuinely and generally very sweet, and even if it is sometimes difficult to get a hold of someone, when you do, you get quality service), or people DON'T (because the chemicals don't match the lawn's needs, or the weather is causing havoc with stuff, or what-not). It just sounds like EL's service is either a REALLY good match, or it isn't. For us, I'd say it just isn't. I really appreciate the offer, though, for the continued service. When a company is willing to go that far to win back a customer, that's really something in my book. For that, you've earned yourself another star. We had the worst crab grass and weeds when we moved into our house. We used another company for an entire year and it seemed our crab grass doubled. We decided to try out Emerald Lawns for the past year. Our lawn specialist, Mike made it his mission to rid our lawn of all the crab grass. It took a few rounds to start to see the crab grass start to die out. Mike was real determined throughout this past year and I will say he did a great job. Received free quote and accepted contract for weed treatment, fertilizer, and pre-emergent for the front yard only. Price was as agreed but they did not finish the service. My cameras showed they only treated one side of the yard. I called and the agreed to come out again and perform the same for the other side. They treated for weeds with did not fertilize the other side as evidenced by the yellow grass. The other side is as green as can be. The third call resulted in their claim that it had been and thus I have severed all future use of this company. Three stars for completing 3/5 of the job. I wish I had a before and after picture to show you what Emerald Lawns has done for my yard in a little over a year. I moved into a home where the backyard had been allowed to run to crabgrass instead of bermuda, patched here and there with rye grass, clover, and various pasture-like weeds re-emerging from the upset of a new-house build. Now my lawn is 100% bermuda, lush and green and even soft, and the occasional patch of clover or thistle can be pulled up whenever I see them. I now use them on just a maintenance schedule instead of fire-fighting a losing battle against weeds, and I'm so glad I chose them instead of even trying to do it myself - I wouldn't know what to apply when, and the proof for me is in the results. Always great at communicating, allowing discounts for paying in advance, and offering follow-up surveys to make sure they're still on the right track, I think this is a great lawn-care company. read more

I have lawn weeds and I asked emerald lawn to come out to take care of the problem. This is specifically crab grass that is very stubborn and hard to cut. The technician was informed to treat this specific weed and said he has a specific solution for it. After the initial treatment I asked him to retreat it two more times but it did not work. It turned a little yellow but came back. I called the office to cancel my service and told them why. The female staff told me it takes more treatment to take care of the weeds but I was not convinced because nothing changed after 3 treatments. She got frustrated with me and hung up the phone. Not only they didn't take care of my weeds problem but was also rude and unprofessional. I wish I didn't waste my money for nothing. read more

Today we had our very first visit for tree and shrub treatments because we suddenly have some problem areas that look really bad in our shrubs. The tech (named David Royce) arrived right when he said he would. He was very friendly and professional and listened closely to all of my concerns. He walked through my front yard and backyard and inspected the trees and shrubs. He pointed things out to me and explained what was happening and how he would treat it. I was blown away by how knowledgeable he was. He explained things in terms I would understand. He told me when the next visit would happen and what would be done on that visit. I have spent over $200 with this company. Their visits will be : your soil is compact, there is a lot of weeds, here is what I applied. Then next time, same observation. I see technician walk around just to do spot treatment. For a 7 weeks of span, no improvement at all, completely waste of money. We've been a customer for well over 5 years. The first 3 years were great but beginning last year, service really slipped. My lawn filled up with weeds and the Bermuda thinned out considerably. I had them out for several reapplications but it didn't help. The techs routinely told me it's because they used safer, more organic treatments. Also, over had their shrub and tree services for 3 years. This year our last treatment was in late March and nothing was noted. The 2nd week in April I had to dig up all my box roses due to disease that our local nursery (McIntires in Georgetown) said we're beyond treatment. Emerald treated 2 weeks prior and didn't say a word. That was unacceptable. We cancelled and switched to Real Green. We should have gotten this service a long time ago. We had a lawn service - mowing, etc. But lawn mowing services don't necessarily take care of the health of your lawn or even warn you about problems. And because we had a lawn mowing service, we didn't inspect our lawn on a regular basis. Our lawn was almost dead. It was our second lawn. We had brought in yards of good quality dirt and pallets of healthy sod. We decided to give the lawn one more chance with Emerald Lawns. The turnaround in two months is pretty incredible. Our lawn is truly emerald. We still have some bald spots but they are growing in. The service is comprehensive: fertilizer, pesticides, herbicides. You have to cover all bases for a decent lawn. And the pricing is completely reasonable - especially factoring how much time and water the service is saving. We used to drive through the neighborhood wondering what the heck was wrong with us. We are intelligent. We read. We know to do soil samples. But we couldn't get the lawn right. Now our lawn looks just as good as anyone else's lawn. read more

I never really saw any amazing results from spending the money over the last 2 to 3 years. Nothing spectacular happen. Paying for recommendations of aeration and topsoil and still nothing special. But what I can tell you is don't cancel your service for one year and think that it applies to the next. Because they renew the service every year. So I got bill In the mail that I wasn't expecting during the whole Covid time frame. Offered this amazing new rollout of having irrigation services where they send you an email and ask you if you're interested in doing it and of course why would I not get a bid and make sure that my irrigation is working properly. I wasn't told there was a charge until after the fact. Granted the guy was really nice and Was accommodating with the cost. If I could give a NO STAR - we would. We have used Emerald Lawns for over a year and have continuously had to call them back out for service. We canceled the lawn service because they couldn't get rid of the weeds but were still charging us. We paid extra for their Mosquito treatment and again had to continually request them back out because the mosquitoes were so bad. We watched on our back yard-pool camera the last couple of times they stated they came out and no one ever showed to service the canisters in the back. We had a bunch of family in for the 4th of July long weekend and it was miserable with all of the mosquitoes. We have canceled and will not be recommending this company for any of their services. read more

I hired Emerald when I first moved into a new house (knew nothing about lawns/trees, etc.). I had a few miscommunications based on a misleading sales guy, but the management took care of me and were fair in the approach. Recently the team ran over a septic tank lid and it broke the casing. Greg was the regional manager and came to look and was really friendly and communicative about the issue instead of trying to make me feel like I was a pain. He's one of those guys who has a ton of potential and likely will end up moving into upper management soon, but until then, Emerald is lucky to have him. I mistakenly took that to mean that it is pesticide free. Not true. Their only solution for weeds is to use Round Up which contains glyphosate. Had a technician come out (she texted me after 9p to confirm when she was able to come out the next day). Estimate was pretty thorough and listed pretty much every service they provide with pricing which I appreciated. I took a couple of days to review the info and responded with the services i was interested in. Didn't hear from anyone for a couple of days so I asked if I needed to call the company directly. After 3 days of trying to purchase a service that I was interested in, I called the company only to be told that they don't offer the core aeration only liquid. This was not explained to me and the lack of communication is a factor as to why I will just pass on this company. I am in nearly $3,000.00 to Emerald lawns. My lawn has went from best to worst in almost 3 years of svc. Its a weed factory now with patches of dead everywhere. There is grub damage on top of who knows what else. They have had various managers out here all with the same promise to make it right.....they have not made it right. I have asked for contact from the owner....a visit to talk through what is going in and how we can fix it. I have given chance after chance.....nada. I am the guy that will leave glowing reviews if treated properly and would still change this review...but doubt it will ever happen so here I am. I see many people leaving reviews of the same thing....seems like a pattern. I work for Dell in services so understand what good service is. The guys thay have came out were very pleasant and seemed sharp...but after multiple visits and treatments...it just gets worse...weed killer seems to grow weeds and the whatever they are or arent doing is killing my grass or at least no helping AT ALL! I have been using Emerald Lawns to take care of my lawn and trees and shrubs for over a year now. Michael Morrison is my current lawn technician. I am proud to say that I have one of the nicest lawns in my neighborhood. I was actually told this by the guy that mows my lawn and so many others in my neighborhood. Michael makes sure to contact me to let me know the day before that I am scheduled for a service. I have 4 dogs so it's imperative I know what time he will be out. He then calls me and gives me at least a 15 mins heads up that he will be at my home which gives me time to ensure that my dogs aren't outside. Once Michael is done with the application, he sends me detailed notes on what was done and any special instructions needed such as if the application requires to be watered or not. Michael has always been very professional and helpful. I highly recommend Emerald Lawns! read more

Used Emerald Lawns for over a year but never got my yard to look as good as my neighbors. Pointed this out to the service provider several times. Finally decided to cancel. Emerald Lawns returned twice more to try to make the service good. Still no improvement. Yet Emerald Lawns expected to pay for the two additional service calls made to my home without my authorization. I refused to pay for service that I did not authorize and for service that did not work. Emerald Lawns turned me in for collection. Don't use Emerald Lawns. They won't let you quit even if their lawn service doesn't work. Big waste of money. read more

We had a great experience with Ryean who came to checkup on our sprinklers. He was very knowledgeable and patiently answered all our questions and concerns. He made some adjustments and reported that our sprinklers were in good condition. He was honest as he didn't try to charge us for extra services we wouldn't need including when we asked him if we needed an extra sprinkler for the new peach tree we planted and he answered that our current sprinkler coverage was enough. read more

They are very good at adhering to their schedule of service, making sure you're promptly billed, and being completely inept at taking care of your yard. I can easily say my yard is far worse off after more than a year of their service and all I have to show for it is an empty bank account. I'll be going back to Trugreen, who I've used in the past and wasn't perfect, but did a far better job than this company. Avoid them at all costs, or your yard will die. read more
