I've gotten 3 tattoos here. 1 was a few years ago (can't remember which artist) and my 2 most recent have been in the last 2 months by Bobby. All experiences have been awesome. Bobby does an amazing job and really takes the time to make sure you are happy! Bobby and all staff are so friendly and welcoming! I usually am a bleeder and peel a lot after a tattoo. But both tattoos by Bobby healed BEAUTIFULLY and didn't peel at all which was amazing! I will definitely be back and definitely recommend Bobby. My ONLY complaint... is the shop is cash only... which isn't a huge deal... BUT their on site ATM only dispenses (I think) $300 at a time... and tattoos aren't often less than that price... so you have to do multiple transactions and pay multiple transaction fees to take cash out from their ATM. So, plan ahead and get cash out elsewhere if you can. read more

My daughter and I have been planning to get tattoos for quite some time. Every time we went to another place, they would cancel or just won't be available. So last Saturday after a couple of appointments, I asked my daughter. Do you wanna go get tattoo. We ended up at Emerald in Manteca. We walked in we felt welcomed. Anona was the artist that they hooked us up with. I totally loved her ride from the moment we met her my daughter shoulder what she wanted I explained to her I wanted to show a little draft of the cross. She told us to give her about 25 to 30 minutes. She came back with the drawings. It was exactly how we envisioned them. They were beautiful. She started to work on us in the conversation with her was awesome. She understood what we were looking for. May feel really comfortable. As well as the rest of the team did as well there was another family and they're getting tattoos together also and I think we all bonded over our tattooing. The work here is phenomenal. The place is clean. There's a love great artist there. You definitely will find someone that meet your vibe and what you're looking for. This is the second time I've gotten piercings from this place, the first time everything went smoothly, sadly not this time though, it is a clean environment and everyone was very friendly but they failed to let me know the risks of getting pierced with bigger jewelry, I had to go to another piercer to get it removed and change the jewlery, I woke up to my nose and piercing covered in blood, it was never touched moved or bumped, the new piercer let me know the jewlery is what was going to irritate it, as much as someone wants bigger jewelry if it isn't good for you, professionally advise against it. I went to Union Tattoo in July 2020. I received a forearm tattoo and loved it. Flash forward to 7/6/24, I called and asked if the same gentleman was still working there. I was told no. But John, who I spoke to was really friendly on the phone. My 18 year old son wanted to get his first tattoo done we came in anyway. I also wanted another tattoo as well, super small on my wrist. We met Tristian, the tattoo artist. He was very friendly and accommodating. He was super knowledgeable on what would look good on my son's arm for his tattoo. As he was tattooing my son, I decided to look online for inspiration for my tattoo. I found what I liked but I wanted it more "girly". Tristian went to draw up my tattoo. His vision for my tattoo was spot on! I went way bigger than I expected to! And I placed it on my back, not my wrist. While Tristian was tattooing, it was a relaxing visit. I felt completely at ease. a sad story with a modern-day hero: Phil the piercer is the MAN. Phil is kind, compassionate, professional, informative, and made me feel very at ease. 100+++ STARS FOR PHIL!! Definitely give a follow to @piercingdrphil on IG!! the shop owner, "JOHN" disappointed beyond compare. I came to his shop with the happiest vibes this past FRIDAY, for a helix hoop. He showed me this beautiful Rose gold-colored hoop without hesitation. I trusted him as a knowledgeable shop owner and jewelry seller. He was recommending this for my helix, so I happily paid $30 & a $10 tip. FOUR days later, my beautiful helix hoop is tarnished. (See pic) I had NO chemicals near it, and was very careful not to touch it. Honestly I wasn't worried- I believed John would help me out. I came in today, TUESDAY, and explained my situation to him lightheartedly, with a smile, confident that he would sympathize. NO. He abruptly told me , "it's not my problem". But I kept my chill, and gently asked if he'd be willing to replace this tarnished hoop I bought from him, ((four days ago)) with something of lesser value. He defensively said, "it's not my problem, you chose novelty jewelry. It's gonna tarnish in the shower." I responded, "but NO ONE removes their helix jewelry, man. You yourself wouldn't be happy with this. And your shop is so clean and beautiful, I trusted you were selling me quality jewelry. And I tipped because I was happy." He showed zero compassion or kindness. As the shop OWNER, he had NO desire to help my sincere request. I had to beg, unfortunately. He finally gave in, very irritated, and offered a bare basic stud. He warned that he would still charge me a service fee. So I decided to not take ANY more service. He truly lacked all professionalism. His pride completely interfered with his ability to keep a solid customer. I feel disheartened.. big time swindled of $40 for undeniably garbage jewelry. Man, what a sucky experience. I went here last Saturday for my first mole tattoo and Marilyn Monroe piercing and I had the best experience ever in such a wonderful establishment. There human relations skills are all on point! The manager was very professional, which I appreciated, but I didn't feel the same level of care from the tattoo artists. Just got my Tragus pierced! Got there 3:10 walk in on Saturday got called in around 4:55pm so be ready for a wait! Next time I'll set an appointment maybe for a weekday. But no complaints went very smoothly, the piercer used the same technique I do when I need to start an IV on a patient, deep breath in and breath out as I push the needle in. So it didn't hurt much just felt the warmth. They also give you the size of the earring so you know what to get when putting in a replacement. read more

Honestly I wasn't even going to bother with a review but a whole week later and it still doesn't sit right with me . I came in with my sis , kids included , as we are moms and they usually aren't an accessory you can just leave behind haha . We both wanted piercings so we were each watching each others kids. She went first and was able to get done and I had to wait because the IPAD was down and that's how the signature for consent is done . I waited well over 20 min while they tried to fix the problem and the owner was on the phone with the workers through FaceTime trying to get to a resolution. . Unfortunately with the kids they started getting hungry and fussy and we weren't able to wait any longer. I kindly asked if the shop would be willing to give me a sort of deal due to the inconvenience of having to come back but I was ignored by the piercer and the woman behind the counter on the phone with her boss. She brushed me off and said that she would "remember me" assuming I was coming back but that made me feel like an empty promise . The owner was on the line and she could have easily asked to kindly go a bit above and beyond for the technical issue but instead she hung up and even got catty with me . Used to love this place have been getting pierced here for years and even tatted a couple of months ago here. The ball fell off my nose ring and so I went in to have someone please help me screw it back on (I have the ball saved even) and the owner wouldn't help me out without paying a $15 fee. I got it pierced here!!! It's no like I was rolling the ball around myself it just wasn't securely fastened and still he wouldn't help me correct my two second problem without paying. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I will never go to another shop now that I have been to Union. One of my best friends is in hospice and losing his battle with cancer and I wanted a piece that incorporated a microphone, his hashtag and notes from our favorite song to sing at karaoke. I came in on July 7th to get my nose pierced. I had called the previous day to ask their policy given everything surrounding COVID. I was told that I could just walk in. I was able to do that. The staff was very friendly. They informed me of the cost ($30) and explained to me the different rings I could get. I was given two options, a stud ($30 total) or the ball ($20 total). I chose the stud. They told me I did not have to wear a mask in the lobby area, but I wore it anyway. There is a sign on the door that specifies that if getting a tattoo or another service, you are required to wear a mask. The piercing was quick and easy. The piercer wore a mask and in less than 20 minutes I was out of there. I was very pleased with my experience and I would recommend this place and return for any other piercing! read more

Union Tattoo has always been my go-to for tattoo and piercing needs. I initially contacted them years ago for a tattoo with a specific artist but she transferred to their sister location in Lodi. The manager at the sister location contacted me promptly and I ended up going to that shop for my tattoo. Then I wanted a cover up done on a large piece in my back but was advised to get it removed so it would be light enough to tattoo over. It was too dark to tattoo over at the moment (it's literally a giant black block of ink). They recommended a place in Fremont that has been great (review for them pending). My tattoo is now faded enough to tattoo over but I'd rather just remove it completely. Then I had a piercing I need corrected because it was completely slanted from when I got it at the mall at the Piercing Pagoda 20+ years ago and it always bothered me. The piercer at Union was very gentle and it didn't hurt at all. Finally, I wanted a tattoo in, what I thought, was a sensitive area and it would hurt like hell. The manager reassured me that the artist would take care of me and make it painless. Boy, she was right. Anthony tattooed me and jokingly told me that was just a test. It literally was the tattoo and it felt like nothing. He made me laugh the entire time and it was over faster than I could have imagined. I've recommended Union to all of my friends for years because Union will take care of you even if they aren't the ones doing the work. My friend finally made the leap and got a tattoo the day after I got mine. It was also a great experience for his first tattoo. Thank you Tristen! Honestly, can't ask for better people.
