Terrible experiences everytime we've gone to this clinic. One dog was misdiagnosed with an "upset…read moretummy" and died 3 hours upon returning home. Another dog last week was given antibiotics for a UTI after waiting 4 hours. A week later, blood was still present in her urine and she had no UTI. We took her to our local VCA clinic where we were told she likely needed emergency surgery for pyometra. Not trusting VCA Emergency to handle any continued care, we took her elsewhere and after extensive bloodwork, tests, ultrasounds and xrays, it turns out she did not need emergency surgery and it was either a cyst or an ovarian remnant missed during the spay (also performed by my local VCA clinic). We are waiting for bloodwork from the lab to confirm. All this testing only cost $1400 at Emergency Veternary Care Center Kalamazoo. Don't go to VCA Emergency unless you want to pay hundreds to thousands of dollars for multiple misdiagnoses on multiple dogs and have one pass at home. Go to EVCC for emergencies. The care was quality and they provide payment plans.

Our dog underwent surgery earlier in the day at Paw Paw Vet, and we were given VCA as the…read moredesignated emergency contact if anything went wrong. Around 2:00 AM, our dog began experiencing severe breathing issues. When we called VCA, we were told there was only one veterinarian available and they were in surgery, and that we would need to drive an additional hour and a half to Byron Center for care. We attempted to find a closer emergency option, but ultimately began the drive to Byron Center. Shortly after getting on the highway, our dog's condition worsened dramatically--she could not breathe and was in distress. In a panic, I called VCA again, begging them to allow us to bring her in. They eventually agreed to have a veterinary technician examine her. When we arrived, she was taken to the back immediately. We were later told that her throat was swollen shut and filled with blood and mucus. They were able to place an oxygen tube and initially said her breathing stabilized. Tragically, she then suffered a heart attack and passed away. I strongly believe that if she had been allowed to receive care immediately--when we first called--her condition could have been addressed sooner and the outcome may have been different. Being turned away during a life-threatening emergency cost us precious time. Adding to this, we were charged $350 for CPR, which was never discussed or authorized. We specifically requested oxygen support--not resuscitation efforts--and this lack of communication is deeply concerning. For a full week, I have attempted to speak with a practice manager regarding this situation and have yet to receive a call back. Each time I contact the office, I am given vague responses with no resolution. Additionally, I was told by a staff member that this situation was "basically my fault" for not immediately driving an hour and a half away, rather than seeking care closer. This response was both inappropriate and hurtful. Finally, I question why Paw Paw Vet would recommend this location as an emergency resource if they are unable or unwilling to provide immediate care when it is critically needed. We are devastated by the loss of our dog, Rosa, and deeply disappointed in how this situation was handled at every level.

It was just a little bit after they lifted the Covid restrictions. However, this hospital had not lifted the restrictions yet, which forced me to give them my baby at the door. I was delivering campers at that time, so my roommate/bestie took care of everything at home for me. I left out that day. They called me and said, "We have the seizures under control. However, we'd like to keep him overnight for observation. In order to do that, we would need $2k today." I called my bf and she gave them $1k. After a little bit they called again, "We can't stop the seizures and we recommend euthanizing him, if you can't afford it!" I added my hubby to the call, he's an otr truck driver, and they told him the same thing. I told them to give us few, to let us talk it over, and I would give them a call back. We decided to have my bestie go get him. That way, WE know, that we'd done EVERYTHING we could. That was 4 1/2 years ago!! They told us to euthanize our baby!! I will tell EVERYONE/ANYONE "DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET TO THIS PLACE!" As you can CLEARLY see, he's happy and his seizures are controlled by medication from Whitehall Vet Practice. This Animal Emergency Hospital NEVER listened when I specifically told them "He has never been separated from us! He has a Mommy & Daddy and he has a Mommy & Papa. He's been with us since he was 9 weeks old and he's been with us or his other parents! He doesn't even get left home alone! He was TERRIFIED! He was shaking uncontrollably! I can confidently say that all the doctors, nurses, and staff that I have encountered truly care about our pets. I spent hours in the ICU comforting my cat while he was fighting to recover and I saw tears in doctors eyes for other patients & clients; I heard the unfiltered surprise and determination in their voice when they would be called away on (another) emergency, and I felt their professionalism as well as compassion in every interaction. I wish I could name everyone to whom I am eternally grateful for taking care of our sick pets, but I know there were people on my pets' care who I never even met because they were behind the scenes! And I'm just as thankful for them as I am to the doctors and nurses who I did have the pleasure to meet. I trusted them with my pets' lives and I know they did everything they could to keep them healthy, even when circumstances don't always follow the path we'd wish. My emotions were taken advantage of and almost scammed. They took him away to examine him and came saying he had a heart murmur. They wanted us to pay nearly $500 to sedate and examine him. At that point I was beyond tears hearing the possible state of my dog. As were figuring out the next steps words were exchanged between my mom and the vet which they refused us service and left my dog on the ground. As I'm leaving, I asked am I good to leave and the lady says yes so, I go to my car, and another comes out of the building very aggressive and pointing her figures at me saying I have a fee to pay but I was unaware because the other lady said I was good to go. Keep in mind I am in the car trying to collect myself and find alternative veterinarians during this moment. Also, we had concerns about his eye that were never addressed. During the same day we visited another vet, and he did not have a heart murmur and was perfectly healthy besides his eye needing eye drops. Overall, please be careful of scammers and get second opinions. We do not recommend this vet. We've NEVER had issues with them until this visit.

From the moment we arrived a little before 10pm, the staff was kind and professional. The facility was clean and well-organized, and intake was handled promptly despite the holiday rush. Linda at the front desk was especially sweet and kept me updated throughout the visit, which really helped ease my anxiety. Our Vet Tech, Rachel, was fantastic--thorough, knowledgeable, and had a great bedside manner. The only downside, if I had to mention one, was the wait time (just over two hours), but given it's an ER vet and they were clearly busy, it was understandable. Overall, I had a great experience and would absolutely recommend EVCC to anyone needing emergency veterinary care in the Holland, MI area.

The pond is deep enough and contoured enough to provide a lot of variation and slope. The physical build of the docks is top notch. There is enough shade at the pond for humans to be comfy. The bathing facilities are so "Temple Grandin" with full length windows at each of the very clean walk-in tubs, and they all look out over the park! My pup LOVED IT. Be prepared to state your animal's positive and/or challenging behaviors in written detail, and give yourself enough time to really read the community guidelines and education. Last but not least, it doesn't hurt to have an attached dog-friendly tavern which occasionally has food via one food truck or another. It's almost worth moving there for this park!

I have found a really nice smaller dog park in Kalamazoo. There isn't the stress of Meadow run. There's a centralized area where people and dogs socialize with plenty of benches so people can sit and watch their dogs easily. There are objects like trees, benches and a fire hydrant to help get a visual on area to look to pick up poop bags available ! The park isn't enormous so dogs disappear! People are very friendly.
