Pet Supply Plus consistently has the best service, they have fun promotions and good prices. They also are very well stocked. The only improvement might be adding a dressing room so clothes can be tried on in private. My Winnie the wenier dog was so embarrassed trying on clothes in the store right in front of other dogs male dogs. it's a great store. locally owned I think so they make mistakes. I've almost missed a pretty good deal from the stores lack of attention. What I can't stand. is the for sale sign for puppies. I have no idea why a pet store that doesn't sell animals would enter into that environment. dog/cat breeding now is not beneficial when we have so many dogs/cats needing homes. read more

Everybody was so nice and knowledgeable and our dog really loved it. She got to pick out her own toys.

While in Kalamazoo we figured we would bring something home to surprise our doggo. We got her a new pink harness, some treats and 2 toys. I appreciated being able to get in and out quickly, though the employees didn't greet us when we came in or ask us if we needed any help finding anything. Thankfully things were well organized so we had no trouble finding things on our own. This is a pretty average experience from a Pet Supplies Plus, nothing spectacular. Glad we were able to find some things but I don't know if I'll come back. read more

I have always loved coming to this store to browse and spoil my dogs, and because they carry my current go-to dog foods which are a little harder to find outside of ordering. However, after an unsettling experience today, I unfortunately won't be returning. In the past, I've noticed employees being overly attentive--asking if customers need help repeatedly, in a way that feels more like surveillance than genuine service. While this has been mildly annoying, I've just brushed it off. But today crossed a line. It began when an employee struck up a conversation with me and, after noticing the two very small items I was carrying, offered me a basket, which I politely declined. Shortly after, as I browsed the collars, he positioned himself directly next to me, completely pretending to fuss with the leashes. He wasn't looking for a price or helping another customer; it was obvious he was just pretending to do something nearby to keep watch. I don't believe I give off the impression that I would steal, nor would I ever do so. I've been in the store many times before. His behavior felt passive-aggressive, which can feel bullying, and I can imagine how triggering such actions could be for some people. It made me feel so uncomfortable that I quickly cut my shopping trip short despite having wanted to browse more and headed fast for the checkout. Just as quickly, he followed me to the register, further adding to the discomfort. I chose a different cashier and left feeling disappointed and deeply uncomfortable. This was truly unacceptable. read more

It worked out really wonderfully for us that our pet store offers 1st visiting vet services E vet services every other Sunday. Our regular veterinarian is booked out pretty far in advance and and our new family members needed their 2nd set of puppy vaccinations, and I noticed a sign at Pet Supplies Plus while we were shopping for treats and toys that said vaccination services were offered here every other week. I admit I was a little nonplussed when I arrived at noon, which was when the staff member on the phone told me I should come, and the sign said the clinic didn't start until 1:00 p.m.. Staff members told us we could go ahead and get in line since the line tends to fill up early. We probably actually save time by arriving early, since we were out the door by 1:05 and there was a line wrapping all the way through the store. We realized it was probably a pretty smart idea for them to offer these services, because of course while we are waiting for our appointment, we took turns strolling around the store and picking up extras of some toys the dogs had really enjoyed and some extra treats. Tons of people - ourselves included - wanted to pet all the puppies in line. It's super important it was important to sanitize your hands between snuggles, however, since most of these puppies are not fully vaccinated yet and are vulnerable to communicable diseases. This is especially important currently as there have been outbreaks of both parvo and kennel cough in our region lately. Our kitties are our babies, and they deserve the best! Pet Supplies Plus has everything our three babies need -- litter, wet food, dry food, toys, brushes; and their favorite, catnip! We have been going to Pet Supplies Plus for years and are part of their rewards programs. We have gone to some of the competitor's shops, but like the friendliness and "personability" that you get at Pet Supplies Plus. For example -- Gavin is always ready to carry your bags out to the car and put them in your car with a smile. He is such a nice young man! I always love it when I see him there when we come to buy stuff for our spoiled babies. They always have great specials on dog and cat products, and they have things for those with birds or reptiles or small furry critters. read more

Yet, over time we have grown to love the great customer service and delightful staff. The employees here are seriously so nice you will walk out of there on cloud 9. They will carry your items to your car and work their hardest to assist in any way they can. The employees are also very knowledgeable of the products sold here. I highly recommend this store. I have had two issues with this store that management refused to help/fix claiming that it was my problem/fault and there was nothing they could do about it. Both instances where with dog food. BOTH times I left that store really upset. I called the Gull Road location and although I got it from the Westnedge store Bob was quick and professional and fixed both issues in minutes without complaint. I will not recommend this store I highly recommend the Gull road store they are more professional and willing to help even if the mistake was on the buyers end.Very disappointed in this store and will not go to it anymore. read more

Love this pet supplies plus. I've gotten my stuff delivered twice now and both times I've had a great experience. I live in an apartment complex so sometimes delivery can be difficult. However, with both deliveries I received a text from the delivery driver asking if the place they were leaving the delivery was good. I also received a picture via text of my packages and where they were left. The second time I ordered 70lbs of cat litter and a couple other things, and the driver offered to help me carry it up the stairs! Will continue to shop at this store and order delivery - I know my packages will be delivered promptly and safely. read more

I just really don't know how to say this but I was walking around this supplies store and there was a fish aquarium and there was SOOOO MANY fishes in one , it wasn't a clean aquarium either it was small for that many fish, there was almost 1000 plus fish in that one tank and it was so sad, the tank wasn't even cleaned properly it was really dirty. I had an interview at this specific Pet Supply Plus, so I suppose this does not pertain to the typical shopper. I needed a ride from a friend in order to arrive to this interview, which unfortunately resulted in me being a little under two minutes late. When I entered the building the women who was suppose to be meeting me angrily threw a few sentences at me, and quickly retreated into her office. Her words did not point to any reasonable explanation for her behavior and she was clearly somewhat impassioned, which immediately made me suspect she was pulling my leg (she was not). Eventually, I got a staff member to explain their strict policy on any form of lateness. I can not help but feel like I dodged a real bullet on not having this job. Overall, the staff had a pretty sunny disposition, but I simply can not forgive the unprofessional way I was treated by this particular staff member. read more

I also have lots of toys and collars and things you might want for your patent not realize that you would want.They are very knowledgeable. Lots of young people who are friendly and very helpful. Buy 9 bags and your 10th is free, or is it 10 and the 11th is free, damn I can never remember but sounds pretty damn good to me. I've probably gotten 3-4 free bags of Nutro already just for shopping at PSP. Stores are never overly busy and the square footage is not the greatest, so it satisfies 90% of your pets needs. My only concern is the supply at hand. My dogs aren't that picky but I know some are, so its bothersome that I can go in one week and find their flavor, but three weeks later, their all out. That's my ONLY con for this place, otherwise its all tail waggin for this dogg. read more

Been going to this Kalamazoo pet supply store for years. Suddenly it's a hard sell hustle in there. We've been using Earth Born dog food happily for our dog. The staff person started advising us on all matters from soup to nuts and contradicting herself. Then she pushes a competing brand of food. That's okay, but don't MISREPRESENT the amount of protein, fats, and calories to sway me. Once I started checking the packages, she unraveled desperately, but there's no getting around it--I was being hustled...HARD. The store looked over staffed. Possibly It's going to be hard sell methods from now on. Well, that's NOT what I'm looking for. On top of it, the clerk checking me out snapped at me a little when I asked a simple question about the frequent buyer's card I have that seems not to "save" me anything for the past year. Bye bye.
