After the big windstorm last year, a rep from Emerson asked if we'd like them to inspect the roof. We knew there had been some damage after finding roofing material in the yard. Our contact, Jeremiah, arranged for a crew to replace the roofs on our house and detached garage along with downspouts and guttering. He communicated with us throughout the process, which was great, since roofers were really busy. They completed the job quickly and professionally and did an outstanding job of clean up. A Very Disappointing Experience I strongly discourage anyone from hiring Emerson Roofing based on my experience. My insurance claim was filed in March, and now it is August, yet the promised work still has not been completed. I have exhausted every possible way of trying to reach them and get answers. Grant Havner was extremely disrespectful, did not return my calls, and repeatedly ignored my attempts to communicate. The secretary was also very rude and actually hung up on me before my concerns were resolved. What makes this even more frustrating is that they brought materials to my property, damaged my property, and then took materials that I had already paid for without my permission. I was promised that the job would be completed, but months later, nothing has been delivered. This has been exhausting, frustrating, and completely unacceptable. Think twice before hiring this company. I would not recommend Emerson Roofing to anyone and strongly suggest doing your research before trusting them with your home or your money. read more

EVERYTHING HERE HAPPENED WITHIN 5 MINUTES OF THE INTERVIEW BEGINNING: I interviewed with Emerson for the Project Manager position I walked into a group interview (unexpected). The upper management that was interviewing, was late. Then started by saying that he doesn't tolerate tardiness. He opened the interview by saying "I know this says project manager position, but this is not a project manager position. You are a door-to-door salesman that climbs on roofs" He also stated, "We don't care about the employees that are making less than 100,000 a year" When I told him that I broke my spine a few years ago and I can't be on high slopes, he clapped his hands and pointed at the door, extremely disrespectful. Especially after misleading everyone there into coming to an interview for a FAKE position. BOTTOM LINE: They literally said that they don't care about their employees unless you are a top salesperson. They will lie to you to get what they want Extremely disrespectful Hypocritical It's a 6 week training that pays 1k/wk. after that it's 100% commission based (no salary) I would never work here or anywhere that has upper management like this. It was a disgusting experience, a waste of time and energy. Highly recommend that you go in the EXACT OPPOSITE DIRECTION of this place...as fast as you can. Our roof looks awful, they were rushing through the job like they were just completing their quota for the month. I did my due diligence. I checked Google. I checked BBB. I checked casenet. I asked for proof of insurnace from the salesman. At first, salesmen were great. Super responsive, answered all my questions, Presented professionally and.represented well. All went well until they put 3 men on top of an unsupported overhang/car port type shelter on the detached garden shed. I came home and found a portion of the roof laying in the yard with no explaination. I called the salesman..who believe it or not was "just getting ready to call"...no worries...they'll "make it right" Except they didnt make it right. They fought me tooth and nail for 17 months. They refused to provide proof of insurance when requested. They disputed my BBB claim and even denied responsibility at all until I showed screen shots from our cameras at the house of it happening. After over a year of arguing about it, they eventually agreed to send someone to repair it...after the section of the roof was laying in the yard for juat over 17 months and was partially rotten..their solution was to re-nail it in place..but suprise....it no longer fit correctly. 20 months after the project started Emerson ended up dropping a portion of the bill so I could hire someone else to do it right. An absolute nightmare. I understand mistakes. Genuinely..and when one happens all you can do is apologize and make it right - Emerson refused to do either. To the customer looking for their roofer: Look elsewhere. I am a business owner, and I don't like to give out negative reviews because I don't like receiving them. So please understand what I say next is important to read. I hired Emerson Pros to replace my roof after hail damage and was left with a subpar experience. I am a first-time home buyer and had Emerson Pros contracted to replace my roof, and they were going to subtract a gutter company. After the installation, I had contractors at my house for unrelated work and then for gutter work (as they pawned off hiring the gutter company). Luckily each of these professionals told me unprovoked that my roof was not installed correctly. I hired a roof inspector to put together a list of things that were not right. Below are a few items that were lacking on my roof install: -The salesman had sold me on a valley that was different from the standard metal valleys, each person who came out to my house after told me I should've had metal valleys. -The nook of my house did not have ice and water shield and poor flashings. They came back ripped off the shingles and then installed it again. During the winter months (less than 6 months after the installation) I had ice up under my shingles and I now have water damage in my house. They will not do anything about the damage. -They reused step and counter flashings -No calking or secondary covers on plumbing vent pipes -Multiple window screens torn from tear off -Wall runs on building weren't torn off properly, poor job cutting back my siding to install new step flashings I informed the quality control representative from this company, and they lacked significant customer service skills. They worked around their contract to do the bare minimum on the install and only reinstalled the front shingles with the ice and water shield. In the end, I am grateful that I had to hire a gutter company and had contractors all tell me that this was not installed correctly, I'm not sure others would have the same opportunity as I did. These are just some of the significant items I experienced. I would not trust them to put another roof on for my family or friends. read more

Can I give a zero? Do not use. Stay far far away from Emerson. They did not install flashing on most of our roof and in the rare spots they did, it wasnt sealed, and because of it, it left opening for bats to get in and infest our attic. Cost us 10 grand to deal with the removal and clean up and Emerson won't speak with us to resolve this. They did ask for the receipt and said they would get it to the guy who handles payments but won't get back to us anymore. We have the animal control people and bat clean up people saying 100% the lack of flashing caused the infestation. One lawyer we contacted even said that Emerson has a very bad reputation among roofing read more

My experience with Emerson has been terrible. Overpromise and under deliver. I was given and initial installation window that got pushed back many weeks. Once the roof was finally completed waited several more weeks for the gutters. After collecting checks for the majority of the work several months prior to starting work, the company harrassed me frequently to collect final payment prior to the settlement of two insurance claims. By harrassed I mean multiple contacts per week by at least 4 different people despite giving the same response that "you will get paid when my settlement is fully paid." They want your patience waiting for work to get done but offer none while you're waiting on insurance. There are too many options out there for roofing and these guys make too big of a profit margin to have to deal with being treated like you owe money to the mob when you're waiting for large storm damage claims to settle. No stars for a sub-rate business. I had to give 1 to post this review. Do not use this company, unless you want to be totally unsatisfied with your project. The sales rep changed the contract after we signed it because he made an errror. This company doesn't know the difference between a day/week/month. The labor tried hard, but had insufficient manpower and had no ability to properly clean up their trash and nails. As senior citizens we spent hours cleaning up nails and debris, cigarette butts, razor blades and tools left behind. There was no project manager from Emerson overseeing. And when they did show up promising to clean it up, they were no-shows to remedy the situation. The only prompt thing they did was demand payment. They charged us for work they did not do and now are threatening to put a lien on the property if not paid in full in 5 days. We've paid most of the money to them, but unless they respond to the dispute- I am not afraid of their threats. read more

Recently they have work with me and our insurance company on a new roof at our Edgerton Location. There was a hail event in our neighborhood. I contacted my insurance and had an adjuster out to examine the roof for damage. While the adjuster was on the roof, the day prior and a few days after, Emerson roofing came to my house to inquire. They asked what my adjuster said, acted like they knew my adjuster (which he said they didn't and were following him around) and even after I told them I wasn't interested AND HAD A NO SOLICITATION sticker on my door as my husband has dementia, they still show up and try to get me to use them for roofing. They say, "I'm not soliciting, I just want to know what your adjuster said". Really, dumb ass, look up Webster's dictionary of what solicitation is. Very pushy and wouldn't leave my property until I insisted. Would never use a company that practices "ambulance chasing" like they do. read more

This is the most unprofessional Roofing Company I've have ever seen. They take your deposit and then you don't hear from them for months. The entire staff is horrible to deal with - from the Office Manager, Project Manager, Production Manager to the Jr. Partner. No one returns calls or emails. No one will take ownership of the job. The work is shoddy and it takes forever to get it corrected. It took 6 months to get my job completed. I was nervous about having our roof and gutters replaced. They answered all of my questions, provided me with supporting documents. If I emailed them, a response was usually received within 24 hours. When it came time to do the work I knew what to expect and was happy with the decisions I had made. The gutters were installed a few days later. They suggested and I agreed to altering the position of two downspouts, to improve the appearance on the front of the house. I am happy with the job they did. Because of the shingles used, our homeowners insurance was reduced and with improved venting our roof should last a long time. read more
