I recently made an appointment to see and test drive a VW CC used car. I sent a message from…read moreCARGURUS on a Wednesday to see the car on Friday. When I drove the 90min to the dealer to see the car, we had to wait almost half and hour to be seen, despite texting with who I thought was an agent the entire time about my arrival time, even when I arrived. I finally sat down with Stan, who was very nice and accommodating and was setting up the test drive for me. Upon doing that, he showed me the car info pagar and much to my surprise the price of the car was almost $1000 more than when I inquired about it. I was told they use AI pricing, and the price fluctuates and that they had been having problems with CARGURUS. I should have walked away then, but I wanted to give Stan a try and see if they might honor the original price. Long story short, despite the sales guy being super cool, it was a bait and switch situation. I was texting with AI, that made me feel secure and special, but it was all a sham. 2 days after purchasing a car from a different dealer, would you believe they sent me an email telling me the price had been dropped! Deception is not a good look when you're asking a customer to trust your business.

Drove 4 hours to look at vehicle here I found on Cars.com and made an appointment to come out. I…read morebrought along a $20,000 cashiers check and would finance the remaining IF I wanted to purchase. I got there and the salesman and a lot attendant couldn't find the vehicle after 15 minutes of looking. I did see one that looked like it by their entrance on the street. But it looked a bit different than the posting I saw online. So I went online and I searched their inventory and sure enough they showed a 2016 AND a 2020 model of the car I was looking at. One post was photos taken of the car inside and the other pictures were of what appeared to look like another car taken outside and 4 years newer. Eventually we all gathered at the one on only car in the model (in the entire lot and inventory) sitting in front of me...listed as a 2020! (With a windshield sticker showing that) I dismissed that as I was happy to have found it. Didn't really think too much of it at the time. Took it for a test spin, LOVED it, wanted it. Came back inside and talked numbers. And they were nowhere near what I was expecting. So then I learn that they disguise a 90-day warranty into the "fees." Which by my calculations came to around $3700. Which is NON-NEGOTIABLE, (because it's "a package deal") Went back and forth with the salesman (who was very nice btw) and his finance officer 3 times. Came back to counter-offer me. AND then had me write down on paper what I WOULD be willing to pay AND initial it. Came back again and they said it was a no-go. I took my check and put it back in the envelope and got up to leave. The salesman took a last ditch effort to talk to his manager and that took a hot second. Basically told me to pound sand. So that was fine by me; there'll be other cars out there, they didn't want my business. So my take is that they have a 3rd party "extended warranty business" that's in cahoots with them that they get a kick-back from of every car sold with the "mandatory" 90-day warranty. In which I'm sure any kind of claim would be denied by them going by the reviews I've read. AND, $3700 for a 90 day warranty?! You can, you know what! From Cars.com "Additional fees may apply since a price breakdown is unavailable. Be sure to confirm the all-in total price directly with the seller." Do your diligent research before trying out this shady outfit. I wasted an entire day of my weekend traveling here only to have them trying to bamboozle me. I leave it at this. The follow-up texts from the manager asking for feedback was a slap in my face. Why ask for feedback when you declined to sell me a CAR, not a BS "90-day warranty" to tack onto the price of the vehicle? Ridiculous business model.

It is unheard of in this business about this kind of small, at home feeling type of company. He cares about his reputation and doing right for his customers. I am a passionate person and came off fairly abrasive because I expected to be ripped off or to haggle. But there really was no need. He was kind, calm, cool and just had a sense of authenticity about him. He was very calm and respectful. He answered all of my questions and I didn't really have to negotiate or bargain with him. He was able to really sell me a great car for an amazing price without the extra stress that you can expect at all the other car dealerships. This is where you go to buy a car, don't waste your time with other places because what ends up happening is other places will waste your time, waste your money and sell you sometimes not the best car. He's pretty close, he's in a good area and he's just a good guy Thank you for all of your help Adrian. I have attached a picture of my beautiful car.

The car had a stain near the roof that the salesman brushed off as "just a stain." Other Fiat owners told us it's usually a sign of a leaky sunroof. When we started the car, multiple warning lights came on for lamps/lights being out. The vehicle wasn't even cleaned -- there was garbage in the console -- and we also found rust on the subwoofer. For a car that supposedly passed a "safety check," these issues should have been caught before showing it to a customer. While I may not be an expert on cars, I do understand that stains typically don't just show up on the roof, and that warning lights on the dashboard shouldn't come on without reason. We declined to buy the car and explained why. A few days later, the dealership called to negotiate on price, saying they were addressing the sunroof. But the problem wasn't just the sunroof -- it was the overall lack of care and transparency. When I said this wasn't the right dealership for me, I meant it. Buyers beware: if obvious issues are overlooked before you even drive it, imagine what else could be missed.

This made it akward when we went to another dealership for the service. The service department was also rude when explaining their confusing service interval, which contradicts the recommended service interval in the manual. Almost everywhere recommends every 6 months or 6k miles. Their plan is for 6 months or 7.5k. I would advise not using them for anything, and at this point, we are considering not even trying to use the service plan we purchased for thousands of dollars and simply paying another dealership to service the vehicle altogether. Very disappointed overall. To add insult to injury Napelton had trouble finding thr prepaid service plan the first time we tried to use it. Having the associate stumble around trying to find the plan and finding out we couldn't use it till 7.5k miles instead of the 6k miles I was at was very upsetting. This is a new used car for me and my research shows that waiting till 7.5k can damage the engine. Really wish we hadn't purchased our car from here.

Here is a copy of the text within the final email I sent to Mark - Despite repeated requests, (via email and phone conversations) you have failed to email me various information regarding this vehicle. Namely, the price (a written quote showing all costs), confirmation that everything is working correctly, and details of the cosmetic condition. All of this is very basic information - what are you selling, and what is the price? This missing information is either intentional, and/or is a lack professional competence. The fact that you don't seem to want me to know the condition of the vehicle, or the price, is extremely concerning. It is therefore not possible for me to trust you or the Dealership, and for this reason I will not be purchasing any vehicles from your dealership. Trust. Honesty. Integrity. Basic customer service... Non-existent in my opinion. He did not reply... My advice - NEVER EVER set foot into a dealership without first doing your research about the vehicle you may be interested in, and ALWAYS get the basic information in writing, via email, beforehand. Otherwise you may be subjected to the typical time-wasting games.

Unfortunately, he did not. The owner showed very non-professional and non-businessman manner in my recent 2014 Mercedes body repair experience. Due to the big cost, I have to split the payment. After I paid 2/3 cost and gave him the 2nd credit card for the remaining, He forced me to accept to pay an extra charge for his adding fluid to that he promised not to charge when we dropped car to his shop because he said it is nothing compared to a couple of thousand dollar body repair. When I was trying to negotiate with him to stay with previous agreed costs and to expect more incomes coming-soon from my engine repair and my friend's car repair (they already talked and plan to bring his car in), he suddenly lost control and dialed police and lied to police that I do not want to pay him (a few thousand has in his pocket), then yelled me with "F-word", his middle finger, racist language, smashed my key..... Another bad character from him was that he did not care his promised words and made me loss of items in my car. After dropping my car to his shop, the next day I realized I forgot to return 2 special expensive drill bits used on metal surface that borrowed from a businessman. I texted him multiple times and asked him to take care of them and take out from my car to his office, he replied he would do every time. Two days later when I went to pick up the car and asked where the drill bits were, he said they should be in the original place of my car, but they were not there anymore. I asked him to go with me to his shop to look for them and he refused to. I lost 2 expensive bits and have to pay back to my lender. Mostly I lost my credibility. In summary Aldrin's behaves and language, plus being unable to honor his own price and promise, did not respect customer, and is not a good businessman to work with, opposed to what I thought to be. Hope people to be careful when doing business with him.
