Gary Emig was an incredible man that dedicated his life to racing and spent every single day feeding his passion for it. He was grumpy, customer service probably was not his perk, but he was the best when it came to racing and fabricating the winning bike. To the man that left the most recent review; Gary passed unexpectedly well before you left this not so nice review so while i'm sure you did receive bad customer service (there was literally nobody running the shop anymore, he lost his life) - given the circumstances I am sure you could be a little more understanding. Emig racing has, bar none, the absolute worst, most incompetent, essentially useless customer service I've ever even heard of. I purchased a set of fork clamps and a steering stabilizer, and they took around 2 months to arrive. I understand if there are issues, parts are backordered or what have you. I'm ok waiting, but don't tell me you will ship out my order the next day, when it won't be for a whole month. That's just bad business. After feeling like I've been totally scammed I asked for my money back, and my parts suddenly arrived. OK, cool. But a couple problems: I specified in my order for the black anodized finish on the forks, which were bright silver, and the steering stabilizer was missing a screw. I contacted emig and after leaving several messages, spoke to none other than Gary Emig and informed him of these problems. He told me that they were having issues with their anodizer, and it couldn't be done for a couple months. He offered to take the forks back and send them back to me once the process was done, but I declined, given the headaches I already suffered with emig. He also promised to send me the missing screw, but here I am a month later with nothing. I'm really not a tough customer. I just like getting what I paid good money for, and not being strung along with empty promises. And I like decent customer service, especially after spending $1200 on their parts. Seriously the worst customer service I have ever experienced. If I could give a negative review I would do that. -10 or something. Definitely should have read the reviews up here before I sent my stem to be worked on over a month and a half ago. Called a few times after a month for the status of my part and Gary got mad stating he would return my part as is and hanged up. He then sent me a text stating that I need to send him a call tag for the return of my items and that he does not want to waste anymore time on it. I sent the call tag via ups like he requested and also had a ups driver go to his shop to pick up my parts and was told by ups they were not ready. Seriously why tell a customer you don't want to work on their part and also refuse to return their parts to them. This has been such a set back on my project there are more reputable companies out there with better customer service. Do not waste your time or money with Emig racing they will not meet your needs. I am sure they do go work but they don't care about their customers. They have zero communication. My time is way more valuable than good work. The time I wasted with Emig racing I could have definitely had it completed by a different company and installed on my bike. Honestly if there was some type of communication this would not be a problem as it is now. I currently don't know the status of my part or if I ever going to get it back. While searching for a set of triple clamps for my 250, I asked a coworker if he knew of any businesses that mill custom clamps. He was quick to recommend this business. Took some time off of work and upon my return heard this horror story: My coworker sent his forks to Gary in a custom box. They were bubble wrapped and packaged properly. After Gary finished making the triple clamps he stuffed them in the box that the forks had been shipped in without the proper packaging material. Upon receiving the package, my coworker opened the box to find that the triple clamp was damaged from hitting the forks in transit due to poor packaging. The package was insured for the price of the triple clamp only. The forks were not insured. A claim was filed with UPS and it was denied because of the improper packaging. My coworker sent the triple clamp back to Gary to be repaired. Shipping back to Gary was 22.00. Not a lot but 22.00 that actually should be reimbursed due to Gary's negligence. My coworker called Gary and asked that the shipping be reimbursed. Gary was appalled at the request. Absolutely no remorse over the improper packaging or the complete inconvenience experienced by my coworker. I will NEVER do business with this company and will recommend to every one I run across to run the other direction from this establishment. This has been an ongoing issue for several months. If you need your parts within a week or 2. Or even 2 months, enjoy your wait. Upon further review of The Emig Racing Web page, my coworker found that Gary used his parts for photos to advertise for his business. Conned my coworker into sending parts he didn't need to send for the convenience of a photo shoot for his business. He's a snake. Absolute money hungry snake....
