Chef Emily is a remarkable blend of talent and skill with a sunny personality. She came to our house and worked magic with her culinary abilities in our tiny kitchen with its sensitive smoke detector. Within minutes of her arrival she had cleared the cluttered counters, and the peels went flying. She made crab cakes, pork satay, mahi, smoked vegetables, and a strawberry panna cotta. And with the exception of the dessert (which needed previous refrigeration), she produced everything, including all the exquisite sauces and salsa, on the spot. And she did the chopping, cooking, and cleaning up in only a couple of hours. What seemed to me as magical as her culinary abilities, was her easy, friendly manner in the kitchen and quiet grace in the dining and living rooms. It is important to bear in mind that such service is costly, as one would imagine. And one ought to have a full understanding of the costs involved: food, services, and tax. I will always remember the evening, a rare event in itself with my family and a few dear cousins and friends. But there is no doubt that Chef Emily brought such joy in her bags of tricks to all of us. read more

Chef Emily and Michelle were absolutely wonderful and made my friends 60th birthday celebration and reunion spectacular. They prepared a wonderful meal starting with appetizers: crab cakes, prosciutto-shrimp rosemary skewers and lump crab toast, following with a pear and walnut salad (roasted pears, toasted walnuts, baby spinach, goat cheese, cranberries with an orange herb vinaigrette). The entree was the most delicious pan-seared beef tenderloin filet with blackberry herb red wine sauce, creamy stone ground grits and bacon crisped shredded Brussel sprouts. The dessert was heavenly-- chocolate berry molten cakes with raspberry ice cream and chocolate covered blueberries. This experience was amazing! We got to watch Emily cook and she taught us many different techniques. She let us help whenever we wanted. The food was fantastic! Chef Emily and her crew were amazing. They were our families personal chefs over a week in Isle of Palms and they became part of the family. Lots of chefs in the industry can cook, but very few can add the personal touch we received over the week. The food was second to none as well, all fresh and local items and the taste... Oh man, words cannot describe how amazing each and every dish tasted, and the deserts, they were so refreshing on 100 degree days. Our group was 31 with the majority kids under the age of 13. Chefs Emily, Brian and Jeff were amazing with all the kids and the adults ta boot! Emily was amazing! She came to our rented home while we were on vacation in Isle of Palms and made us all a wonderful dinner. In addition, she explained what she was doing as she was doing it, plus a ton of other helpful kitchen hints, and then she shared her recipes with us afterward. She set a beautiful table for us to enjoy our meal, served it to us, and cleaned up after. We felt so special and pampered. And, to top it all off, she made an amazing 60th birthday cake for my mom, who we were celebrating, which was just the icing on the cake for a perfect evening. Brown Family -December 2015 Emily and sous chef Sara was the very best!. They prepared a Christmas dinner that we reheated on Christmas day and a cooking instruction on Christmas Eve. Our while family of seven participated and it went so smooth and was so much fun. The experience was great. The food, even though we helped, was the best meal we have ever had. We talked about it the rest of the evening. Then we warmed up Christmas dinner, and I couldn't believe how wonderful the food was. I would highly recommend Emily. What an amazing treat to experience Chef Emily's incredible cooking class! As a birthday gift for my husband, I hired Chef Emily to come into our home for a hands-on cooking lesson with friends. This was our second experience with Chef Emily as we met her at another cooking lesson and enjoyed it so much we had to do it again! Best meal of our 11 day trip to Charleston and Savannah! Chef Emily came to our rental house and prepared dinner for 14 of us. I was able to work with her to come up with a menu everyone enjoyed. This was the first time we have had a personal chef. I was hopeful the evening would be a big hit and it exceeded expectations. Emily was fantastic! We hired her to do two dinners for our family reunion and the food was sooooo good. She was amazing about accommodating the various dietary issues and creating scrumptious multi course meals for us.
