Super fluffy and soft. The pumpkin spice filling tasted like pumpkin pie. It was perfectly sweet. So good. The employee at the register was kind and helpful. We got the Ube sourdough, which was delicious, but there wasn't too much of an Ube flavor, which is fine. But the purple color of the sourdough was beautiful. They have full sourdough breads, and sandwiches as well as cute little jams and other bread toppings available for sale. They close when they sell out so we recommend going early-ish as they do sell out sometimes!

I don't like wasting my time on people like this, however, I would like to save anyone thinking of having a cake done by her, the disappointment I went through on my wedding day. First of all, yes this did happen awhile back. I only recently started yelping, and reviewed Gold Country Cakes as soon as I thought about it. Tina was contacted 3 weeks prior to the wedding, which is fairly last minute, BUT if she did not have the time she could have easily said so. As I stated in my first review I had been planning to do my own cake, but my parents wanted to do something nice for me, and thought I had enough on my plate before my big day. Tina is flat out lying about the rose petals. As I stated above, she was given the picture I showed, I told her if she could not complete it I could decorate it myself on site. To be perfectly honest the lack of rose petals was the least of my worries. The horrible ganache work, and lumpiness ruined the appearance of the cake, and rose petals would not fix that. The "dingy warehouse" she delivered the cake to was the Auburn Events Center. While it may not be the Ritz, it is a lovely, clean, well run establishment. My family does not have deep enough pockets to host a reception, with dinner, for 150 people at a winery. We have a large family and a lot of friends. We chose to host a dinner reception at an events center and include our full guest list of 150, rather than cut loved ones out of the experience, so we could hold it at a more upscale venue. But I fail to see what that has to do with her shoddy work. Is she implying that since I had my reception at an events center I deserve a crappy cake? In the same vein, I do not understand why it matters that we had a Day of the Dead theme. We got married on All Saints Day, we honeymooned in Mexico, we thought a Day of the Dead theme was a fun way to tie it all in. I fail to see what the theme of my wedding has to do with her joke of a cake falling over. Tina also says "the client was no where to be found" um ya. It was MY WEDDING DAY I was having my hair and makeup done and went straight to the ceremony. Why would I be at the reception site half an hour before my ceremony started?! My mother was on site and said Tina was rude, and in a very big hurry. Tina again outright lies about people running wires and cables for the DJ. The cake was set up in the front right of the room and the DJ booth was set up in the rear left. Furthermore, the venue has all the equipment and sound already set up. We simply had a friend who DJs bring a record player and plug into the existing DJ system. She outright lies again, stating the room was extremely warm. This was a November evening! It was actually a bit chilly in the room. The attitude she has taken here, is the same attitude we got after complaining. Extremely rude, and unwilling to take any responsibility. Anyone who saw this cake, or pictures of it, can see it was terribly done, falling over aside. It is a far cry from the beautiful svelte cake I asked for. It obvious she is grasping at straws. Im posting another picture of my hideous wedding cake (at Tina's suggestion), where you can see it leaning to the rear left. It also shows a portion of the "dingy warehouse" Tina claims she delivered the cake to. She asks you to overlook the ugly faulty cake she delivered me and instead to look at her cakes she made on her website. I wish someone had warned me abut this crooked cake baker before my wedding, but I hope at least my review will save some folks from having to go through what I did, and spend hundreds of dollars on a cake disaster.

I paid because I only had an hour for lunch and needed to eat. I got my mocha and sat down to wait for my sandwich. As I waited, I noticed several people who ordered after me receiving their food while I was still sitting there. About 15 minutes later, I finally received my to-go sandwich. When I opened the container, it was obvious it had been sitting there for a while. The sandwich was sweaty, and half of it was soggy. Apparently, they had forgotten to bring it to me. By that point, my mocha was already gone before I had even started eating. The BLT itself was made on regular-sized sandwich bread, and the tomatoes and bacon were good. But $34 for a basic BLT and a small iced mocha is outrageous, especially considering the wait and the condition of the sandwich when I finally received it. I will not be going back. The prices are simply far too high for what you get.

They were very busy, given the holiday weekend so it took almost 15 minutes by the way. When they finally called the drinks out, they had only made mine a dirty chai, so they had to add espresso to hers. Fine. I was excited to drink it but both my friend and I took a sip and made the same exact disgusted face. There was nothing redeeming about the drink, and it tasted like chalk. The stars for this place were for the scone, which was delicious. That said, the chai was awful and I wouldn't recommend.
