The food was SO yummy and inviting! We ended up ordering more than we could eat because the display case of pastries was so beautiful and the flavors sounded too good to pass up! I ordered the Irish coffee, hot chocolates for the kids, regular drip coffee, kids breakfast waffes with sausage, Emma's stuffed French toast, a cheeseburger, a bacon egg and cheese burger all with fries. The food arrived in a timely fashion and was SO good! The staff were friendly patient and helpful. The atmosphere was very homey and cozy. There was plenty of space for everyone to be seated and others to walk around and there is seating outside in two different sections which was great! It's a lovely spot that we plan to revisit :)

Decent tiny bakery in a one-room saloon type dining hall. This was an okay coffee stop. The cinnamon twist was destroyed to mush in a microwave. Grizzly Adams cook lounging at the counter.. Ordered a $7 egg breakfast and asked for shredded cheese; got a half-melted slice. Stools are wobbly. Ketchup bottle empty. Ambience needs a revamp!

I stopped in based on the pic of all the yummy baked goods, & I'm glad I did. The raspberry mocha latte was divine--I could taste the flavors and not just coffee. The cranberry orange scone was also pretty darn tasty. The star of the show was the pistachio muffin, however, with wonderful pieces of nuts and a lovely green color. Honey feel and friendly staff. Can't wait to return when it's warmer to enjoy my goodies outside on the porch.

Great breakfast spot! Wonderful pastries and warm dishes served up from the small kitchen. Regulars hang out here to catch up on news. A sign reading "Life is uncertain- Eat dessert first!" is placed above a wonderful array of muffins, pastries and cookies at the counter. Full breakfast and lunch menus with sandwiches, soups and salads available. Lovely and quaint inside with friendly walk-up service.

I was in the area on a business trip. My customer recommended Emma Cleary's for lunch. The Impossible burger and onion ring basket was awesome! The onion rings were dipped in a nice batter that had a slightly sweet taste. The portion was about 2x what I could consume. If I was staying overnight I would have taken them with me. The Impossible burger was cooked just right (it can get dry if cooked too long). The bun was fresh and had a buttery flavor to it. The food was great. But I really liked the genuine, warm country charm of the staff. They made me feel welcomed and comfortable. I'm angling for another visit to my customer. If I get back to this area I am definitely eating at Emma Clary's again. PS: As I was leaving I had to get a picture of their sign at the register!! It said everything about their attitude. I loved it. Ron

Great cafe in Slingerlands. Drove by so many times but never stopped. What a mistake! This place is great. A simple, homey joint serving great homestyle cooking. Fabulous corn beef, great breakfasts. Look forward to coming for lunch and trying pie.

Small cafe specializing in fresh baked desserts, sandwiches, wraps, subs, salads, and seasonal soups. The cozy and spotless dining room had many windows to provide an inviting dining space. You can eat outside on the spacious front porch in nice weather. Rest room was very clean as well. They do offer take out. Open 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM daily but closed on Monday. I had the Empire Sandwich which was served with CRISP homemade potato chips. The bread was grilled to perfection, turkey sliced thin, apple slice crisp, and cheddar melted nicely making for a very good sandwich. Took 1/2 home. My daughter had the Gyro with Chips which she enjoyed very much and a bowl of soup. They serve several varieties of superior Chris's Coffee which tastes great with the assortment of fresh, nicely presented baked desserts--brownies, cup cakes, cookies, and deluxe scones! We shared a Blueberry Scone that was packed with fresh blueberries and got cupcakes to take home. They were delicious we were told. Efficient ordering system and friendly, prompt service.

Wanted a casual breakfast with my niece, but also wanted great food. So happy I listed to a friend and went here. Staff is friendly and welcoming, and the food was delicious. We had stuffed French toast, a cranberry muffin and hazelnut decaf coffee. Looking forward to going back...

How adorable was this place? Our local friends took us here after a short trip to Thacher park. We didn't have a lot of time and all wanted different things, perfect. Since it was a lovely fall day we sat on their lovely patio. They also have a porch. Portions were quite large, watch those French fries. They are very crispy and delicious so you will Eat too many. Yikes. Service was quick. Two small critiques: EVERYTHING is disposable. I have a very hard time eating somewhere that creates so much waste. It's 2019 and I take conservation very serious. The other issue is my salmon burger wasn't so good. I'm pretty sure it had lots of filler in it (bread crumbs?). It wasn't a great burger. My friends' lunch was so large they took half home. Good for a quick bite and I would certainly try it again. Although the disposables would give me pause.

(Certainly a lucky neighborhood) It looks small from the street but once you walk in, it opens up to a sizable store. We were greeted by a friendly staff member, he took the time to describe their cheese selection and the other things going on in the shop. He then pivoted to giving us tons of help selecting the right cheese. We sampled a couple of things and then he dialed in three choices for us to buy. (With an assist from another customer that insisted that we would love the Delice de Bourgogne) Prices were reasonable enough for the quality. We added some gourmet crackers that were neutral enough to not overpower the cheese. The next day, we made the three cheeses the focus of our lunch. The Delice de Bourgogne was the star of the show, a creamy, earthy, and savory masterpiece. The two year aged Gouda and creamy blue cheese were delightful as well! The sandwiches looked delicious but we were there at the wrong time of day, alas, but we will 100% be back. If you like cheese, this is a destination location for the region.

I ended up leaving angry and literally cried.... Their online ordering has a Reuben with an option for $2 extra meat & a note box so I cld have written there asking for the extra portion on the side. EASY. Yet, I went in person to see what the specials were hoping for a great lunch, because Im here for medical procedures at the hospital and had fasted since the day before. Id never been to The Elm Street Market before, but it was close to the hospital, & love Vermont markets for all the years I have lived here. But THIS place :: T E R R I B L E mistake! The employee at the counter was as fake & uncaring as it gets, & shld definitely not be the customer guy. He would not just let the added side be $2 , but wanted to weigh it out & charge me for a deli style $6 sliced side in a package as an addition to the $14 sandwich. ($20 Reuben?!) I said I didn't need or expect a package of sliced cold meat, that I was just adding the side portion to share with my pups. For Lunch. He just becomes patronizing, dense, & fully lacking capacity or willingness to help and says he "can't bc it just doesn't work that way" unless I get it on the sandwich. I cld order it online but not with him at register. And for some reason he cant figure out a $2 portion of meat. Surreal Incompetence. The next level of downhill not-so-fun is seeing the tiny soup. A cup of soup for $8. A latte "special" that I cld not even taste the smoked maple flavor and was only 3/4 full. It's actually shocking- what happened to actually CARING about just helping ppl have a good experience if you are working in the restaurant business as a small local independent market? Hey Elm Street Market Fella, you cld do the simplest things like not try ripping ppl off & being kind! His patronizing attitude & lack of capacity really took it over the top- how am I supposed to enjoy this $36 ordeal? Supposedly he is refunding the meat, bc I explained I didn't order a package of meat. He took it out of bag & literally said "take your sandwich & drink & go". I was upset~ I said this is truly unacceptable ~ try some Kindness & Authenticity! And left. The other young lady who was working that day & witnessed this whole debacle seemed to feel bad making 'Im So Sorry' faces. She at least offered me a dollop of maple syrup & noted the drink was not filled~ but also was being oppressed by his attitude. I cld tell he was being an overbearing tyrant. Wtf - this is NOT Vermont as it should be DUDE. All it took was putting a few slices on the side for $2 & filling up a drink. Ridiculous.

The place offers a full service deli counter, snacks, cold drinks, coffee and a full service restaurant in the back section with 2 dining areas serving breakfast and lunch. They also offer pizza and wings on Friday and Saturday nights. I stopped by Hillbelly's for lunch recently and took a seat in the back dining area and given a lunch menu which offers hot and cold sandwich plates, soup, fried foods, burger plates, plus kids meals. The prices seem reasonable here. I ordered the Philly Steak Sandwich with Fries ($10.95 plus tax) and an ice water with lemon. The friendly staff offered me a complementary slice of pepperoni pizza since they launched pizza nights on Friday and Saturday. The pizza was decent which has a good sauce pepperoni slices and minimal cheese on a soft and chewy crust. They also were low on fries so they offered me an additional fried side and I went with onion rings. The food arrived very hot and the Philly Steak Sandwich was very big and thick, which had grilled peppers & onions, melted cheese and 2 grilled steak-ums on a thick soft artisan bun. The standard fries were golden and crisp and as were the battered onion rings. I barely finished my lunch. The check was $11.83 with tax and before tip. Overall, this is a good place to stop for food if you happen to be in Westerlo.

The ribs came undressed, but you could help yourself to as much sauce as you like at the counter. We tried both the apple and chipotle sauces, preferring the former, which was sweet and smokey. It paired perfectly with the tender, fatty ribs. When I think back on it as I am right now, I salivate. My husband also ordered their brisket sandwich (available only on Sundays), which looked just as appetizing as the ribs. We ordered the ribs, brisket, bratwurst, potato salad, mac & cheese, and fries. Of the meats, the brisket was probably the best--good bark, and not dry. The bratwurst was very dry and definitely needed the mustard. The ribs were far too salty, and I wasn't a fan of their peach BBQ sauce. The sides were pretty solid. The mac & cheese was okay, though it could've used a bit more seasoning. The potato salad was solid, and the fries were good. The pickles that came with the entrees were also tasty. All in all, a bit disappointing. When the sides outshine the entrees, it says something.
