Emmanuel's Bakery and Taqueria is not close to me, but after trying a couple of their baked goods I can safely say that I will be back. I've always been a fan of Hispanic bakeries even though I'm more of an American donut kind of guy. This bakery is on the east side of town, and is worth the trip. They are not much to look like from the outside or inside, but do not let the looks fool you. They make good stuff. First item I tried was their Apple Empanada. It was tasty and fresh. Good amount of filling, and the price was more than fair. They were sold out of the empanada flavors that I usually crave so I cannot wait to the other flavors next time. Second item I tried was a wonderful surprise. When I pulled it from the case, I thought it was Cheesecake because that is what the sign said. Upon closer inspection and verifying from the employee, I was told that it was Corn Bread. I've never tried cornbread from a Hispanic bakery before so I thought about returning it, but I'm glad I changed my mind. That Cornbread was absolutely delicious! With their cornbread being so good, I need to try their other breads to see if they are even better. Yummy stuff. It was a cool 4 star experience for my first visit to Emmanuel's. Cashier was courteous and helpful. Parking was a bit difficult in front of the bakery, but I'll know better next time.

This is a sweet family owned bakery with even sweeter treats! Whenever I go, I get a dozen bulillos and I also like to try different types of pan dulce. I feel like there are always new options each time! Additionally, I'm always surprised at how affordable everything is for being so delicious and plentiful! 10/10 will definitely come again! Not only for the treats but to also support one of the few Hispanic family owned bakeries in Bakersfield. Brings back memories of the panaderia from my childhood that I would go to with my grandfather, and the brothers that work there when I go are always friendly and welcoming.

Best pan dulce I ever had, I live out of town so I had my nephew bring me some since his wife introduced our family to this delicious goodness on a turnaround trip on Friday and Sunday it's still soft and taste freshly made!!! I lived in Bakersfield all my life and had no idea... Bakersfield's best kept secret! Tell a friend they will love it !!!

This place is a little gem. I'm genuinely grateful it exists. Prices are reasonable, and while customer service was kinda "there but not there," I didn't even care because I was laser-focused on my desserts to go. They do have a few tables if you want to sit and enjoy your treats inside. I'll be back soon to explore more and I'll update once I discover my next favorite thing.

We tried a variety of baked goods, the honeycomb bread is sooooo dang good! Upon entry I was taken aback by the beautiful art that appears hand painted on the wall. It is beautiful! I wanted to get a feel for what Yemeni coffee is and how it differs from other regional coffees and I did not get that. We ordered a coffee and a matcha and I was able to try and enjoy both. I think it's good coffee and matcha I just didn't understand how their product differed from anything else. It's not bad and I would get it again but I didn't get a feel for the region. I remember when I tried Turkish coffee for the first time and the richness of flavor and strength, Salvadoran coffee and its rich aromatics, Palestinian and its rich nutty textures via spice, but here I was left wondering. Yes, this is a pistachio coffee, but what makes it different? I don't know. Yes, this is a pistachio matcha, but what made it different. Don't know. Good sure, but I can't really describe how it is unique. The baklava, certainly, provided this rich information. Compared to other baklavas it was drier and crunchier in a way that was satisfying and light. I would prefer to eat this baklava if I was watching my sugar and calories, which coincidently I currently am. Other baklavas are more decadent and syrup/sugar heavy. I was left with a want for more out of how light and delicious they are. I hope to try their cake offerings soon! Would return to continue trying their menu and would love to see a no straw option for the lid along with a more sustainable cup!

I ordered the strawberry cupcakes, chocolate cupcakes and lemon cupcakes with raspberry frosting and filled with raspberry filling. In my opinion they should give information on their website about all the flavors they can do or at least a few flavor idea suggestions, because when I called them to place my order I asked what flavors they offered and she had to name them off one by one and began struggling a bit to remember them all, so it was awkward, time consuming and harder for me to remember everything she was naming this way and just made it harder to decide which ones I wanted to go with... I ended up just randomly picking the first three I remembered her naming. Lol Good picks though ! So all the cupcakes were moist, creamy/velvety and delicious! The frostings were not overly sweet and I thought they were the perfect size too. My only complaint was that the toppings on the strawberry and lemon ones were candy, not a fan of candy and it kinda made them look like they were for kids and they were not. ( Noticed from others pic's that the lemon cupcakes usually have a raspberry on top...) Anyways, excellent prices, great service and delicious cupcakes! Would definitely try them again!
