Hoping for some improvement. The good and mediocre. Ordered for pickup two of the two crab cake platter meals, total cost was $129 + $20 tip. Order was for one with curly fries the other with onion rings and each with coleslaw. Crabcakes were of good size at 8 oz each and the coleslaw was just like mom's. The onion rings never made it to one of the platters, just ended up with shoestring fries on that one and not very many. I could see the foil lining the container through the pile of fries. Curly fries were OK, seemed like more were there than the shoestring. Also never received the ordered tartar sauce for either meal. The crabcakes had good flavor and very minimal shells present (9 out of 10 on that) but didn't seem to have been cooked long enough. I realized this when the next day I decided to eat the second crab cake and cooked in my convection oven for an additional 30 minutes and THEN it was very delectable. Would like in the future for the crab cakes to maybe have the option to fry or broil and cooked a bit longer, receive my order correctly and maybe, when someone is spending $67 on average per meal (minus tip) to not be skimpy with the sides. I mean really, how much do fries cost? A one pound frozen bag in the store is $8 at most, I got maybe 4 ounces. I know in the same general area there is a burger store whose name that starts with a number guys, hint hint, that gives double your order of fries when you pay $5.99. Next time I will be more cautious and maybe not go all out thinking it was going to be a smash hit. The restaurant is really close to me so I hope it will be a better experience next time. For those with disabilities, there is accessible parking in the lot but the restaurant itself is up about 6 steps and through a 90 degree alcove with two doors and very liitle room to navigate. There is no apparant accessibility for those who use walkers or wheelchairs. The ramp you see here is for access to the kitchen and through the window, it doesn't seem like a safe passage. I am very sure however that if asked, the staff would bring your food out if necessary. They seem very nice and willing to accomodate.

We wanted to love this place but there were just too many problems. Things started off great. It was busy but we were seated right away. We ordered soup and an appetizer but took a few minutes to decide on entrees. The fried pickles were excellent and the cream of crab soup had lots of crab meat but needed seasoning. We eventually managed to flag down a server to get some crab seasoning and that helped a lot. Things went downhill from there. Half an hour went by and we noticed that people at the tables around us who had come in long after us had ordered, gotten their food, eaten it, and were now paying their checks. We asked our server what was going on and after a few minutes the owner came out and apologized. She said our ticket had gone in right after some large parties and that crabs come out faster because they come from the steamer but she didn't really have a response for why the table behind us who sat down about 20 minutes after us had finished their burgers and crab cakes already. Eventually our entrees came out, 40 minutes after the apps. We could smell the ammonia from the fried catfish. Pretty sure the oil the hush puppies were fried in wasn't hot enough because they were really greasy. My stuffed shrimp was supposed to be a crab cake over broiled shrimp with cream imperial on top. The shrimp was fine and the crab cake was good enough but nothing special. The problem was the "imperial" sauce. It was half an inch of hot mayonnaise sprinkled with J. O., no cream, no lemon or worchester, just mayo piled over everything. Both entrees were basically inedible. The owner came back and apologized again but also tried to tell us that they sell a lot of catfish so it couldn't be bad and that everyone loved their crab imperial. She was very nice about it and did comp our whole meal but it really felt like she didn't believe us that our food was bad. It's entirely possible we just got really unlucky with a bunch of kitchen mistakes but there were just too many for us to want to try again.

They have closed their trailer in Laurel and are now open in Dayton where Floyd's Crossroads Pub was. Some of the same employees and all of the good food as before. We recently stopped in on a lazy Saturday about 3pm for some soup, onion rings, steamed crabs & cold beer. Thats how Marylanders roll! All very good. Fantastic wait staff, very friendly & knowledgeable. We will return often. Thank you!

I have always passed this place for years so when I was on my search to order a bushel for my family reunion this past weekend, this place came to my mind. I called about a week prior to see if I can reserve & pay ahead of time but due to high demand for crabs & their availability, I was able to pre-pay 48 hours before my event. The customer service here is great, it's a family-owned food truck/trailer and ample parking. There are no tables to eat in their lot but there are 4 chairs while you wait for your items to be steamed. Ok so onto the crabs-- Crab-o-licious! I ordered medium male crabs and they were so meaty! My family loved them and couldn't stop asking where I ordered them from, even the out-of-towners. I typically can eat 8-10 but were full after 6. At the end of our family function, I was able to take some home for a late night snack lol. I'll definitely be returning to Emmerts Seafood Truck to try their steamed shrimp and crab legs before the summer ends.

We walked into the restaurant and stood at the hostess stand and no one came to seat us so we went to the bar to seat ourselves. The restaurant was beautiful and had a great nautical theme. The bartender was very sarcastic and didn't seem like he cared much about still being at work. We sat down at 8:30pm and by 8:45pm, we got the feeling they were cleaning up for closing.. at 10:00pm. I even asked if Google was correct about the close time because it was so off putting. We tried two beers from the tap and they were flat and awful tasting. We even switched one out because it tasted like a wet rag. We ordered our dinners and were surprised at how good it was. I got the "Spaghetti and Meatballs" which is shrimp and lump crab meat made into small balls over linguini with a garlic Alfredo sauce, served with garlic toast. My boyfriend got the Lump Crab Cake sandwich and fries. We agreed that the food was good and came out hot and well seasoned. There were only two other people in the whole restaurant besides us and when they left, it was as if we didn't really exist. Lights were being turned off, dishes and bar was being cleaned, they closed the entrance doors and I had to use my flashlight on my phone to get to the bathroom. The whole time, the owner was sitting at the end of the bar having loud private conversations with her staff who were ordering food from the kitchen at the same time as us. All very strange and not inviting. Probably not going back, and maybe this was a weird one off, but it was so off putting for us. Maybe they are more professional at a peak time of service but I was shocked they were treating it like they were closed at an hour and a half before closing.

These are the biggest crabs I've seen anywhere at a price this reasonable. That's the whole equation right there. Which brings me to the drive. I know it sounds backwards to head inland for crabs, and yes, when you've got friends visiting and you point the car away from the water, it takes some explaining. But compare it to a place like Bethesda Crab House, where you're paying for the real estate as much as the crabs. I would rather drive forty five minutes into the country and eat better crabs for less. Those of us in 20854 make this trip constantly, and this place gets talked about in country club circles all the time for exactly that reason: outstanding crabs, unbeatable deal. It's in the same category of open secret as the lobster specials at H Mart at $12.99 a pound, sometimes down to $9.99. Everybody in the know knows. The snow crab is the other reason. It picks clean, juicy, and not too salty. It comes apart fast. No wrangling with rubbery, bendy legs. And you can get it in the all you can eat too. The place feels like a biker bar. Nothing fancy about it, but that's exactly the room you want to be in when you're eating crabs and drinking beer. It also beats Mays, the other spot people mention around there. I've eaten at both. Mays has tiny little crabs. Avery's has some big ones. Not close. And if you're bringing people who don't do seafood, the rest of the menu holds up. The ribs and everything alongside them are outstanding. I've come here with folks who were just along for the ride and watched them go to town. I tried it myself and it was legitimately that good. Last thing: Wednesdays, the all you can eat blue crabs go on sale. Plan around it if you're price conscious.

It came with two waffles, probably three eggs (we added cheese so that was extra), 4 slices of bacon, and 2 sausage links, and hash brown. The waffles were such a cute shape and they were delicious. I can't confirm this, but I imagine it's their own special batter. They were very generous with the scrambled eggs and I didn't even have to add salt & pepper. I like that there were two meat options. I just wish my bacon wasn't all stuck together to form one piece. Also, the bacon could've been cooked a little more. It was a little fatty and I like a little more crisp. The star of the show was the hash brown. It definitely seemed like it was homemade. It looks shredded potatoes, mixed with green onion, and maybe some cheese, that was packed like a patty & shallow fried.
