Went to get crabs and ended up with additional menu items because it looked so good. They weren't taking phone orders so I got there at opening on Saturday Father's Day weekend. Ordered a half bushel and they were ready in just under an hour. They were mixed medium and large and they were great! Down to the bottom of the box they were excellent. I also got some of their deviled eggs which were a little sweet but tasty and a pint of their shrimp salad which was good. Spiced shrimp came in 3 different size shrimp for you to choose and they were also great. I sat in the parking area while waiting for it to all be ready as the shop is big enough to accommodate folks ordering but if you stay you'll be in the way. My regular road side stand is only open on weekends, so tried J&T for the first time. And very impressed...and I have high standards for crabs! I got Lg and XL both good size and heavy, even picked and saved some for a crab cake(first time). Will become a repeat customer for sure. I found this gem searching for something to eat after picking strawberries at a near by farm, and I'm so happy I did. We come back year after year for this amazing food. They have their top combos or you can build your own. They also have blue crab of course and make sure you place orders in advance as they sell out especially on holidays. There is nowhere to eat inside or sit so you can order to go prior or stop in and get yours to go as well. The staff is wonderful and it was nice to talk with the other customers as we waited for ours. It's not big inside just a couple counters with food options to choose from and you take with you to go. This was my first visit to J & T but it definitely will not be my last. I searched for steamed crabs on Yelp and knew I needed to try J&T based on the multiple 4 and 5 star reviews. Service was friendly and I always appreciate when given the option to order crabs over the phone versus in store only. Once home we immediately started our picking party and the crabs did not disappoint. The large crabs were deliciously sweet filled with lump meat and definitely the star of dinner. The mediums were good and priced nicely. The crawfish and shrimp were pre-steamed and packaged chilled. The crawfish was the meatiest crawfish I had in years. I can't wait to return! read more

I'm leaving 3 stars because this business does. Bring crabs to the mountains. I ordered 1/2 bushel mixed large and medium crabs. The average is 3 1/2 dozen crabs. I paid $150.00 for these and received 1 crabs less than 3 dozen. That made it hard to distribute to the other people that chipped in. When I called to inquire, I was told it's "give or take" on the number of crabs, with someone in the background yelling the same. And then hung up on. I also purchased 1lb of "lump" crabmeat. Attached is a photo of the crabmeat I bought. If you can find a single lump, I'll give you the $30 it cost me. read more

The family's been going here for more than 14 years or so. Couldn't recommend this place to anyone more than i already have. Out of all the times we've gotten crabs or more recently crawfish, 9.5/10 it's great quality for a great price. The seafood that comes in always fresh and never really a dud to the batch. I heard about J & T from neighbors and decided to try. Put in a phone order a week prior to the day of pick up. Earliest I could pick up was 10am which was agreed upon. I get there few minutes after 10 and when they check on the order, they say, sorry it's not ready, it's gonna be another 30 min. I was not familiar with the area and it didn't seem like anything commercial was nearby so we waited in the car for the 30 minutes. I finally got the steamed crabs I ordered and left the place at 10:40. The crabs themselves were meaty, for the 1/2 bushel it was mostly mediums, with a few smalls. The family enjoyed working the crabs and my 7 year old had a fantastic time cracking crabs for the first time. I was glad I had the patience to wait around but wondered if this was a typical occurrence at J & T. The 1/2 bushel was $145 which seem to be the going rate at other places. read more

We ate at the restaurant across the street called The Woodbine Inn, the crane came form J&T thought (maybe co-owned) anyway the extra large crane were phenomenal! Well seasoned like Baltimore Crabs should be and very heavy with delicious meat! Our waitress was prompt and followed up multiple times. Highly recommend and I will go back myself! The stars are based on ordering process not food quality. Forget getting crabs over the weekend unless you are a regular. You can't place advance orders, but it's clear they set aside crabs for their regulars. How else would they be sold out at 11:20am when they start taking calls at 11am? The crabs here are always heavy. I typically order them when dining at Woodbine Inn across the street. Last weekend was our first time picking them up. I called ahead and was able to reserve a dozen and a half extra larges for $ 95 a dozen. I also got some Fisher's popcorn and crab paper. Total was $ 151. Service was friendly on the phone and the crabs were hot and ready for pick up at the time I requested. Will definitely be back! read more

I've heard good things about their crabs, but I never got that far to find out. I couldn't find a website so I called to get pricing and availability. The girl on the other end of the phone was unpleasant and short. When I asked what their prices by size were she said "same as they always are." If I knew that I wouldn't be calling! This place sucks! This is the 2nd Mother's Day in a row that we could not get crabs from this establishment. We are locals like a mile away & my husband called on Wednesday & they said to call on Friday to reserve 2 dozen large crabs. He went there in person Friday & they said they weren't taking orders until Sunday at 11am. My daughter walked in there in person at 11:05 am & they told her they were sold out. They open at 11am! They are nothing but arrogant liars! I am so aggravated & will steer everyone I know away from this place. I was really disappointed in the customer service this time. I had 8 people that we were inviting for crabs so I wanted to reserve a bushel. I called on Tuesday to reserve crabs for Saturday. I was told to call back on Thursday or Friday. I stopped in on Thursday. I only live a couple of miles away. I was then told to call Saturday morning to see if I could get a bushel. The guy told me he could get me crabs by the dozen but, he would not guarantee a bushel. Bought steamed crabs here on June 9. Had them steamed to order. They didn't have any Chesapeake Bay crabs but they did have crabs from Louisiana. We ordered a dozen Extra Large at $80 per dozen. They were big, fat and heavy crabs, not as good as Chesapeake Bay crabs, but still very good just the same. Steamed and spiced just right. I am going to order a bushel for this weekend and if things turn out differently, I will update this review. But all in all I would recommend this place. They also have a good deal on Wild Caught USA Gulf Shrimp. This is a carryout only. The Woodbine Inn is right across the street. As people order steamed crabs in the restaurant, you can see that J & T Seafood will steam them up to order and walk them across the street to the restaurant. read more

Picked up a bushel and a half of their "mixed bushel" crabs a few weeks ago for co-workers and myself. They were true to their description- some were slightly smaller and some genuinely large crabs. Overall, they were meaty and delicious. Everyone enjoyed the crabs! I will definitley be returned to J & T in the future. read more

Worst experience ever. Great crabs. After spending $150+ on crabs, I asked if I could add in a roll of table paper for my crab feast. The worker got upset with me stating he had NO time to make me a roll of paper, that he was too busy. Then he tried to hand me a square of paper and said that's all he could do. When I said I would need a little more than that to fit my table, he threw it to the ground and yelled "Fine, I'll make you a roll", proceeding to make me a roll of paper (which took all of 20 seconds), which I paid $4+ for. Paid $65 for dozen large crabs. Price is reasonable around this area. I was able to call in the day before to reserve my order. They had the crabs ready when I came in as promised. Service was pretty friendly. They are a little short staffed but I didn't have wait too long cuz I went there early Sunday(11:30am). Crabs were really tasty and smothered in old bay. I had one crab though that was very dark compared to the rest. I don't know if this is because it was at the bottom of the pot or because it was a dead crab when they cooked it. To be safe, we didn't eat the darken crab but then that's $5 wasted as a result. read more

J & T is excellent we have had ordered crabs there several times been very pleased we generally order a bushel and they are medium to large mixed Spiced Right the only thing I don't like it's sometimes it's difficult to place an order they sometimes make you wait until the day of to order and I don't like to cut it that close specially around holidays I also want to add we have ordered shrimp steamed and it's perfect and juicy and my wife also orders sometimes different grades of crab meat all have been good let's face facts this is a small business in Woodbine Maryland and sometimes they get a little short especially when it's extremely busy we love them nice to have so close to home the restaurant across the street that's a whole nother story read more

Very busy crab house...good crab quality and is relatively consistent whether you carry out OR dine in unlike other crab facilities in the area. Customer service is good but, not great. If the employee tone and service would have been consistent over the 4 times we have used them this summer - 2 for dining in and 2 for carry out - I would have probably given J&T a 5. read more
