Over the past 9 months we have ordered empanada loca. For the first 7 months they were great but after our 4th bad experience in the last two months we are never ordering from here again. The food has been delayed over 2 hours three times in the last 2 months, including a driver ending up in Manhattan for a delivery somehow. Tonight, it took them 2 hours 40 minutes to deliver, had 3 empanadas made incorrectly. I stopped in today to get lunch; there were 2 customers seated and eating and 1 customer waiting on an order. I proceeded to the "please wait here to be served" sign directly in front of the cash register where a man with shaggy brown hair in his 20's was standing. He didn't acknowledge me. Not even a "Hello". I assumed I should wait for wait staff to be seated. One waitress passed by me and said nothing. I continued to wait. I ordered 3 empanadas and 1 Arepa Huevo for delivery for breakfast. It was all disappointing. The Reuben Wheat Flour Empanada contained 'pastrami' but it was not edible. There was fat and the texture was really off. The Arepa Huevo was an overcooked fried egg between what I guess was supposed to be arepa bread. It was sad. The other empanadas were okay. I recently came here with a couple friends. I'm not a big fan of empanadas but the food here was amazing. I had the cheeseburger empanada and a chicken quesadilla and it was excellent. The servers are so nice and helpful with the menu. My server was Demetri when I went and he made my dining experience so enjoyable. This review is mainly for the poor communication and delivery experiences that I've received every time I've ordered for the past few months (I order quite frequently). One time, the delivery driver demanded that I tipped them after refusing to come upstairs so I had to come down in the middle of working, only for them to rudely have me run back upstairs to get a pen because they did not have one. On multiple instances, the delivery is later than advised which results in the tacos I ordered being soggy (I am only two avenues away, less than 10 minutes away); the food is not being delivered properly and is a mess in the container when it comes to you; the cashier gets my information wrong (phone number, card number, etc.), and most annoyingly, having an unapologetic or nonchalant response from one of managers most of the time when you try to follow up on your order. I appreciate that they cater to vegans with a small vegan selection, I usually order vegan tacos to my job which are really tasty. It's not entirely a bad experience since some of the people that work there are very nice and the food is yummy. It's just unfortunate that the delivery service is consistently awful and the communication from the team could be better which takes away from the whole dining experience. I am only two avenues over from the restaurant so it's perplexing to me how the delivery can be so complicated every time. I was debating if I should just stop ordering from here and today I gave them another chance but received the same poor delivery/customer service from the staff again. Personally, I don't think going through the hassle of poor customer service/delivery is worth it for some soggy tacos. read more

I'd like to say the empanadas are delicious. They truly are but the reason why my rating is low is because EVERY SINGLE TIME I go here to pick up food, all the empanadas are not in the correct bags. For example if it's a cheeseburger empanada it's in a bag labeled "mamacita" which is their shrimp and crab empanada Or vice versa which has been very scary for me because I have a high food allergy to shellfish. And not only did it happen to me but I recommended my friends to go here (which I felt stupid doing so) and the same thing happened to them where both their orders were mixed up in the wrong baggies. Good spot for empanada cravings. They have a large variety of empanadas and some other foods. I personally love the Angie empanada, their guac and chips and their grilled corn. Two things to keep in mind though: 1. it adds up and some other their dishes are a bit overpriced compared to other places 2. I've found them to be inconsistent with their dishes. Sometimes they're delicious, other times they're average. But I must say, they are good with their customers when they make mistakes and customer service seems to be important. I quickly ran to devour my food but was a bit confused, where was the flavor? Most of the Ones I tried: Tommy , Andes, Caliente lacked a very important thing- SALT! Did they run out? The El Nino packed with shrimp, scallops and Crab had the most flavor followed by Big Boy which I think only had flavor due to the cheese. A lot of the so called spicy empanadas were not spicy at all and almost dry. Why High Stars? Service was wonderful and I still did enjoy trying out the empanadas. I will give this place another shot. I've been ordering here for a few months and finally decided to give it the five star review it deserves. The empanadas always taste so fresh and delicious. I always order delivery, and it's always on time and the delivery person is always friendly and prompt. The empanadas are always labeled when you order to-go, which is great because that way you know what you're about to bite into! I've had almost all of them and they are the best empanadas I've had, ever. (Bold statement, but true). For my last order I had the Kale Salad and it was delicious. Some of the reviews that say the food is so disgusting I find really hard to believe after receiving my order. I ordered two empanadas, one beef and one chicken, chicken nachos and cafe con leche. The beef empanadas was delicious, the chicken one was very bland in flavor so I'd pass on that one. Nachos were delicious, their guac is really good too and their cafe con leche is sooo good. Had to lower down to 4 stars since you don't deliver to my place all of a sudden..I order from you guys a lot, why would you cut me off from your food **12/9 I order from this place A LOT, but they just lost my business. I put in an order, and after waiting an hour and a half, Grubhub tries to call them but no answer. I call and they pick up, the girl tells me that she can't get a hold of the driver and the food should be there soon. I wait ANOTHER 30 mins and call Grubhub and the rep tells me the order was marked as delivered! I live less than two miles away, and they COMPLETELY disregarded my order and now they won't pickup the phone!!
