So gross and disappointing. I've loved EM for a long time but now will never go there again. Three of the empanadas were dissolved. It looked like someone put them In the bags then stepped on them but packaged them anyway. One red sauce, one of green sauces and the rest were some super gross white cream that tastes like it's gone bad. The bag was fine when I grabbed it. When I got home 20mins later and went to pic it up it DISSOLVED on my passenger seat and then onto the floor. So on top of everything will have to get my car cleaned. read more

The crust on these are absolutely bombastic so insanely crispy you may as well put a picture of these empanadas in the dictionary under the word crispy. The Desayuno Colombiano was super delicious, although couldve had a bit more meat I think like two of my bites had any. The Bombay had much more meat but flavor was not as on point. This location seems much smaller than the others, and there's really only a handful of seats available -- this seems more like a grab and go location. There was a lunch special deal that came with 2 empanadas and a side of beans and rice, so we got that. The two empanadas we chose were the Wheat flour Bombay and the Shredded Chicken. I thought they were both pretty good and the sauce it comes with compliments the empanadas well. The rice and beans were good too, but nothing special. Looking back, I feel like the food was a bit pricey when considering the size, but nonetheless it was good. I would recommend checking it out at least once! read more

I have ordered Arroz Con Pollo from LES and TS and it's usually so filled with chicken that my hubby and I end up sharing it. This location's Arroz Con Pollo had a lot of rice and practically no chicken! This new location is small and clean with a few stools if you want to eat at the high-top by the window. I had two of my usuals, cheese (corn shell) and Viagra (wheat shell), and tried the eggplant (baked wheat shell with tomato, oregano, basil, red wine, parmesan and mozzarella) which was a revelation! I really like this place. Since i started traveling to this area, they have had that Grand Opening sign outside so I'm unsure of exactly when it opened. The place itself is tiny. I appreciate that they have self service machines to place your orders. It helps those of us who rather explore the menu on our own and at our pace. The drinks are off to the side and can be picked up the customer. I love that idea however, I already witness a homeless person actually take a drink without paying. So thats the only down side to having the drinks available to anyone. The empanadas here are good. Theres only one that i have fallen inlove with. The reggaeton is the name of it. It has rice and peas inside and pulled pork. It sounds crazy but it WORKS. They put a bunch of flavor into this empanada. Its not dry but very juicy. I highly recommend it. I did get the Toro one and it came with oxtail and sweet plantains. I dont recommend that one. The plantains were NOT sweet and i did not enjoy the flavor on the oxtail. The beef empanadas are good. I've had both fried and baked. Baked is delish. I took a gambled and ordered the fried pork with tostones. It was horrible but wasnt the best. It could of been crisper but then the meat would of been burned. The tostones were perfect!!! Thin, crispy. I did not enjoy the sauces i ordered. The garlic is really good but i didnt like the pink or green sauce. I tried the homemade lemonades here. They need to be more consistent. I bought two and one was soooo sour. I tried the next and it was sweet and not sour. So i wouldnt personally try it again because its almost $5 and still needs to be adjusted. I got the cherry lemonade and i couldnt taste the cherry in it at all. Just sour lemon. Nothing in here is cheap. Not even the empanadas. Overall, i will continue to come here and order empanadas. If I had to choose what to eat as my last meal, I would say Viagra empanadas time and time again. I drive out to the city just to eat these and I buy them by boxes of 10 (it's cheaper that way and I usually get at least 20). They freeze well (bonus points) however, they usually never make it to my freezer cause I end up eating them all. Their green sauce is fantastic and I they usually give a good amount. My husband and I also visit the Hell's Kitchen location when we catch a broadway show nearby. I even buy these as gifts for the holidays or appetizer for family and friend events and they are always a crowd pleaser. Downside: they are getting super expensive but worth the quality! It's not really a location to do dine in from but more of a pop up but it's right off 14th Street and 1st Avenue + was conveniently located near my computer repair place. I HAD to stop in since I'm not nearly as close to one as I used to be. While I was here, I tried a new baked empanada that had chicken and red pepper in it (not the hot kind but the bell kind that I like). No Belgian and banana empanadas on the menu that I saw but the Nutella and banana one which is also good and got that instead.
