Good empanadas overall. The flour shell is always my favorite because it is flaky and easy to eat. The shell was the best part. We ordered a breakfast (egg cheese bacon and ham), beef, chicken, and a spinach ricotta. All of them came in their perfectly fried shells. The fillings, however, were all a bit bland and definitely needed the salsa verde. I would go back if I am in the neighborhood but I think the flavor of the empanada offering at east elmhurst stood out a bit more. read more

What a hidden gem! They offer a variety of empanadas and have a vegetarian friendly menu. The organic flour veggie, spinach, and guava and cheese were definitely my favorites! I've had all types of empanadas in NYC and I remember on the days when I didn't have a vehicle, I'd take the bus just to get to this spot. Now I drive over occassionally during my lunch break. These empanadas are heaven. Ive tried mamas empanadas in the past and this place makes them look disgusting. The empanadas are so flavorful and crispy. I love all the different flavors that they offer but my favorite is the spinach and ricotta. I also love how the name of the empanadas are stamped of the rim of the empanada shell. We've eaten here a few times. Every time we are in the area. Those little fried pockets of deliciousness are a vice needing no apology. What's real fun about eating here is the variety. So some tips. I honestly can not believe I have taken so long to write a review for this spot. The attention and care put into this place makes me smile and the taste of these fresh to order gourmet empanadas is pretty remarkable. Don't be a square and get the same old beef ones u can get anywhere else (even though these will probably blow the other out of the water). Co-worker and I went for lunch today. Parking is difficult, but well worth the time to get a spot. Called ahead for beef and plantain flour empanadas. Chorizo in organic flour and jalapeño with cheese empanadas. They were all good and fresh, but the best was the plantain one it was fabulous. I won't get the chorizo again, I didn't care for the organic flour, fries up too hard. Oh and the homemade hot sauce, delicious which has little bits of avocado. I would have given this place 5 stars but the reason it's a 3 star review is because of the rude girl taking our order. Customer service has never really been this places thing. I really like the empanadas. My girlfriend got the jalapeno and cheese which was really, really good. It was kind of spicy but had good taste. I had 2 chicharron's in corn but I was really disappointed. The taste was very bland and not impressive. The nutella was amazing and the plantain and cheese were so good and probably the best thing they have on their menu. Parking here is horrible so expect to walk to come here but it is good. I grew up on empanadas, or empanadillas or pastelillos or pastelitos (depending on where you're from). The white flour beef, the chicken, the plantain and cheese, all super goood. The pesto is good (even though I'm not much of a pesto person). It's a very small space so it's good to call in advance and be prepared to take it to go. I love this place. read more

This place is clean organized and cozy. But don't let the size fool you they have one of the best empanadas you will ever taste. The guy that takes your order is very friendly.
