We've also tried the caramel empanadas (can be topped with powdered sugar, Nutella, or condensed milk) but we've had it plain. With Mike's suggestion, we added vanilla ice cream on top- and it did need it. The caramel is super sweet, so the vanilla ice cream cut the sweetness a lot. He kept insisting I had canceled the order, blamed me repeatedly, and refused to move past that point no matter how clearly I explained the situation. He eventually got rude and hung up on me. Yes, he actually hung up. When a restaurant chooses to partner with DoorDash, they take on some responsibility for how delivery problems get handled, particularly on large orders. The right response is not to interrogate and blame the customer while a ready order sits on the counter. There was no attempt to help, no offer to make it right, just defensiveness from start to finish. We ended the night with nothing. A large group of people, no food, and an experience that left us worse off than if we had never ordered at all. If something goes wrong with your order, this is how Che Empanadas will treat you.
