I did however enjoy the half-mile walk to and from the store. I was not the only person who was disappointed. There was also a couple standing at the door for a minute who were reading the notice of the new location posted on the door. I didn't have a chance to speak with them before they drove away. I have been to several Latino bakeries in the past and always enjoyed the pastries and coffee so maybe I'll try this business again if I'm in their new neighborhood.

The fillings come together nicely (who doesn't love meat, cheese, and beans) and the plantains add a perfect sweetness that elevate the flavor profile. We each had the Patacones: crispy green plantains with tomato and onion sauce, cheese, and choice of protein (we each chose chicken) and the Empanadas Colombianas: fried corn empanadas filled with choice of protein, lentils, cheese, or spinach cheese. The plantains were crisp and the protein was incredibly flavorful. However, it was the empanada and the accompanying sauce which captured our hearts. The empanada shell was so crisp, contrasted with the ooey, gooey melted cheese, perfectly complimented by the green sauce. Although I like my food a little spicy, the green sauce was made the traditional way. They do have a spicier sauce, if you ask. It was a busy Thanksgiving weekend. They are located across the Farmers Market. Got two each of the beef and chicken empanadas. They are both tasty and delicious with lots of flavors but they are unreasonably priced at $8 a piece which wasn't stated anywhere on their menu board and only got the shock when I paid for them but the beef is made with lean ground organic beef and the chicken with organic shredded chicken breasts. Maybe that's why? I dunno, organic tends to be more expensive. Each beef or chicken empanada was garnished with onions, garlic, olives, pimientos, raisins, eggs, red & green bell peppers, some yummy spices and sauteed in olive oil and butter... that's a lot of stuff crammed in those empanadas. We had a reservation and arrived on Sunday evening for dinner but still had to wait a while before a server came even though there was no line. There was a water bottle on the table and it was not free so keep that in mind. The restaurant is cozy, but the light could be brighter from my opinion. The menu has many options from small to large and shareable dishes. We went for their famous lamb chops and squid paella for two people. The lamb chops were great and paired well with the potato. It really took a long time (the menu said 30 minutes) for the paella, so take that into account before ordering, but the flavor was worth it. This is our first time trying Spanish food but these were really good. The rice was well mixed, flavored, and came in a big portion. Only one thing is that the meat and seafood were a bit less given the price of this dish. In general, this restaurant is a decent place with great food and location in the heart of Bellevue. I would highly recommend it if you crave for Spanish food. The price is a bit on a higher end but at least you will leave with a good mood and a full belly.
