Stay away - left spots on my carpet that weren't there before, and carpet felt stiff and gummy. Called Stanley Steemer to clean up the mess left by Chem-dry ... carpet is no longer gummy from whatever toxic chemicals they use; spots remain. They ruined my 18-month-old carpet. Update: Gwendolyn - thank you for your useless reply: as stated, the spots YOU caused remain after Stanley did their best to remove them. This was the second time I used empire chem-dry for a move-out cleaning. Costs were very reasonable and transparent, the service was great, and Dale was on time and very professional. He got out 2 stains to the point of me not remembering where they were in the first place. I had to run an errand while he was working and when I got back he had even fed my cats and filled their water bowl! Total time was about 3 hours for ~1400 square feet of carpet, and that includes the pre and post cleaning walkthrough. I grew up with my dad using chem-dry and now I go to them first for my needs. The dispatch staff was also nice and accommodated a last minute reschedule due to oversight on my part. read more

They are no good! Would give them 0 stars if had the option. Don't think the guy even cleaned my carpet since I wasn't present at my Auburn home on January 24, 2020 at the time of service. However, one week after I moved in on January 31, 2020, I went over areas in the house with my lil ole Bissell Crosswave and when I was done, the dirty water was black. It's as if It was never cleaned. I found cobwebs on the carpet in the corner behind bedroom door and thick layers of dust still in the carpet along the walls. Wasted $108(see attached receipt for proof of service), will never use any Chem-Dry franchise again. To expand on my Chem-Dry experiences, I've used Chem-Dry of Seattle since 2013. I know exactly what their basic cleaning can do to even the filthiest of carpets. So it goes like this, the minute I find a new home to move in, I call them every time to clean the carpets before I move into the place. Beth there is awesome, she is very hands on with customers and always polite. Had one complaint and she was on it like white on rice. It was like it never happened. I only called a different location this time because I was no longer in Seattle. My mistake, I should've called Beth anyway, she probably would've sent someone out anyway. I am OCD and because of this experience, I can't even go back to my original Chem-Dry location. Lost trust in the company as a whole. This is my initial complaint with this location. Never called them to discuss or gave opportunity to resolve. This is because the technician named Cole (name listed on receipt) knows exactly what he did and it was clear and blatant deception. This company is super UNPROFESSIONAL! The customer service rep my wife talked to was condescending and argumentative. When my wife asked to talk to a supervisor the gentlemen said "I am the supervisor". If this is the guy setting the standard then don't waste your time calling this place. Not to mention that when we had them come last year for our yearly service they did a subpar job. They had to clean it twice. Just because they are cheaper than the rest, YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!! Just had our whole house carpet done by Empire Chem Dry. The cleaning was done by Dale. He did it in about 2 hours and it looks like new. Called because of the ValPak coupon. The techs were professional and friendly, explained the process and thoroughly went through all of the pricing options with me beforehand. I was satisfied with the final quote, $275 for an 800-plus sq ft house with stairs. I don't know that I would go with a Chem-Dry method again. Whatever chemical is used brought out the ghost of everything that had happened to that carpet for 6 years. It smelled worse than before! To be fair, I had been adequately warned, and turned down the extras that would have fixed that issue. Still, I think next time I will just find a steam-cleaner, or be prepared to buy the whole package. I was pleasantly surprised with how fast the service was, and I thought the price was more than fair for what I was getting. The carpet looked great, and it was pretty bad before. There was an issue with the billing, but Brent called me personally to discuss the issue and it has now been resolved to my satisfaction. read more

The tech is cleaning now and I am writing this review now as he is cleaning. I am a real estate broker and i do a lot of carpet cleaning as a perk for my clients. I've always done the steam cleaning companies but because of time sensitive, I have to use this company with the Chem-Dry cleaning method and man I am regretting that I have did this. He cleaned the first room and the carpet didn't look much different. Granted the carpet is in good condition and not very dirty. In other cleanings, the carpet would come out looking like it's brand new. He ran the machine and I asked "what about the corners?". He replied "that's all the machine can get to." W T F??? There's a sitting area about 2 feet above the floor. Area is about 3 feet wide and 6 feet long and he doesn't clean that because "he can't put the machine up there". Another W T F??? Went to second room and I took picture of before and after. I can clearly see that it is about 20% difference. I wish I can post the pics here so you all can see the difference for yourself. I don't recommend this company at all. UPDATE: I called the company and talked to a manager. He told the tech to go over it again. The tech brought in a bonnet and ran over the area. He didn't even hit all the areas I complained. For example: the complained area is square, he ran an oval area leaving the corners untouched. I didn't bother to tell him to run through the area because it did not seem to help at all. Again, I don't recommend this so called Chem-Dry cleaning method nor this company. Waste of my money. If I had another day, I would have gone with my regular carpet cleaning company. UPDATE AFTER EMPIRE'S COMMENT: It's pretty sad how you twisted my words. You asked how you can make the situation better. I said I don't know how you could make it better. I have moved on. I then asked you about a partial refund and you said I have already given you a 1 star, how would that help you. I told you I will change to a 3 star and add comment that management had tried to make the situation better. I did told you that I will not give more than 3 stars because the other 2 stars is for the performance of the job. You asked me how much I wanted in refund. I had chemdry clean my carpets a few years back and I thought they did a good job. I needed my upholstery cleaned and thought of chemdry again since I had used them before for a different service. Unfortunately, this time they did NOT do a good job. They left my upholstery with a HORRIBLE chemical smell that I can't get rid of no matter what I try. I wish I had never called them. I was better off smelling dog urine than whatever awful chemicals they used on my furniture. Definitely do not recommend and I will not be calling them again. read more

These guys do a great job cleaning carpets. They are thorough and friendly. There were rings under 3 plant pots about 10 inches in diameter. I doubted the rings from years of water seeping would come out. Empire Chem Dry tackled the job- dark rings gone!!! Couldn't believe it. I was amazed. I love the way Chem Dry tackles dirty carpets and leaves it clean and presentable for entertaining guests for family parties. I thought Prices reasonable, friendly service, fast and easy to set up an appointment. Give these guys a call they can tackle that aged grime like under indoor pots. I have used Chem Dry in the past and my carpets always came out wonderful without any up charges. Two out of the five rooms were still stained, I asked him about it, and told him before the guys would spot treat the areas first and use a lot of spray, the rugs would stay wet for a couple days....not this time, the two rooms that were bad still were DRY. I actually went around after he left and used my spray spot cleaner from the last visit and cleaned the carpet with a rag and my foot and a reacher tool as I am disabled. I picked the wrong one thought this was the truck mount since the coupon said DEEP CLEAN, or I guess I needed to request it on the phone. It was only like $10 more per room. Check all the Coupons closely from the different Chem Drys. Although I have never had to have the truck mount one before. They would have had to reschedule to give me the Truck Mount one. I did not want to have to reschedule since I was ready. I still had to pay over 200. It would have been 200 more for a better job. JW The owner Brent called and came out the next day and recleaned the bad rooms. Wonderful now. read more
