I've been going to Empire Halal for a long time. Initially it was a backup place, but as all the good trucks have moved into storefronts, snd then franchises, Empire Halal has stayed true. They are one of the better Halal chicken, lamb and falafel vendors left. They are super quick on service, thanks to volume. Not friendly guys working there at all and while I don't completely understand their language, I did hear them using curse words from their native language. Shout out to another Yelper who informed that they charge extra for using credit card. I ate there on Saturday and thought I was being charged $7. I looked at my credit card statement and they charged me $7.60. They don't advertise anywhere that they charge extra for credit, and the dude didn't tell me this when I went to pay. I know it's just 60 cents, but false advertising is a fantastic way to lose customers. My platter was still excellent when I had it this past Saturday, but the bad taste this has left in my mouth has massacred this establishment's star rating in my eyes. I'm disgusted. read more

Today I picked up a mixed over half rice half salad and was charged 2 dollars more than normal. I totally understand, thats not a problem with the economy and covid. When we asked for a Diet Coke with our meal, the man began lecturing us about the negative effects Diet Coke has on our body. I stated I understood but still wanted the Diet Coke, and the man continued to roll his eyes at me and say how I didn't understand how terrible it is for me to drink. It's that good. But today marks the second time in the last few weeks that they were not there when advertised. There's only one guy working which was an immediate disappointment as the ppl in front of us ordered like 7 meals, so there was a little bit of a wait time. Once I ordered my food it took about another 7-10 minutes to get. I opted for the mix combo over rice, extra white, extra hot. The lettuce was fresh and green not wilted like I've seen at other places. I was not disappointed but i wasn't impressed either.
