My meal was a lamb platter. What you see when removing the cover is small cubes of lamb covered with a white sauce. When you dig in you first taste a very tender tasty lamb which is spread very generously in this platter. Underneath is a good portion of seasoned rice your next find may be a mixed salad which was so moist and tasty. Foodie ordered the chicken platter. It had a red sauce and looked very appetizing. The lamb gyro and chicken over rice plate feel more like European ones except meat is not shaved but diced. The dishes have cleaner taste, particularly less cumin-dominated and less greasy comparing to other halal stores on LI. The portions are on smaller side. The store is clean. read more

I read some reviews here before I headed over. Here's what I ordered with my opinions on each item. (: LAMB OVER RICE PLATTER: I loved it. I was pleased with the rice because good halal rice has been hard to find lately, but it was pretty greasy for me. (I don't know if it's usually like that or if that's a popular opinion, lol). The meat was cooked PERFECTLY & the white sauce isn't too thick. The green sauce is amazing! PHILLY CHEESESTEAK: My fiancé was impressed. I ordered it with "meat & cheese only" but he got some sauces on it. (I think they were ketchup & mayo). He wasn't very happy about it but said the sandwich itself was really good. He's always on the hunt for a good philly. GYRO: I dropped it off at my mom's but took a bite and it was good! FRIES: YUM!!!!! I love their type of fries! Flaky and crispy... so so good. I got a free can of soda with my order of the fries & gyro, cool! I also grabbed us each a 'birthday cake ice cream bar' for us for dessert. $2 each? Nice! And yummy!!! Big portion, lamb and chicken are very tender and flavorful even without the sauce, maybe a bit too flavorful that I found myself drinking lots of water afterwards. As previous reviewer mentioned, you can definitely taste the mayo in the white sauce. Also the cumin really shines through. I love cumin and I think it goes well with lamb, but if you are not a fan then might want to consider getting salad instead of rice. Decent n quick meal but is it good enough for me to return? Like the rest of the Island, I've been on a halal rice platter binge. When I saw that Naz's opened up near my house, I went to try it. And I was blown away. It's located in the shopping center with King Kullen and Starbucks, so there's parking space usually available. The inside is kept really clean, not a formal restaurant-y vibe but it is well lit and there are a few tables if you're going to stay to eat. I like that the counter and kitchen looks wide and open. The food is dang good. I had the chicken over rice the first time I went and the the combo rice platter on my second time. The rice is seasoned and cooked really well, which I was pleased about. I felt the fennel come through over all the sauce. The veggies don't look super fresh because they are not vibrant but once you bite into them, you feel that fresh crunchy cooling sensation. They give you a heaping portion for the price (an equivalent Halal chain I went to had half the amount of food for the same price). The meats are juicy and flavorful as well. They'll put the sauce on the platter but they also have sauces packaged and ready to go if you want it on the side. Both times I went, the place really hit all the marks- good location, good price, good people, good portion, and good flavor. I will definitely be back to try more. read more

Food: I ordered the combo rice platter (chicken and lamb, pictured). The portions are quite large given its price and very filling - I wouldn't be surprised if 2 people who eat on the smaller portion size could share one. The meats are grilled perfectly (moist, juicy, flavorful) and the vegetables add a great balance. Be sure to pick up or request their sauces. I love the combination of barbecue and spicy sauces. We tried a combo rice plate and a falafel wrap with the tricolor sauces. For the falafel wrap, we liked how well the falafels were fried. The pita was soft and the whole combination was quite good. The combo plate came with rice, salad, lamb and chicken. I even got a skewer of their kofta for an additional 2 bucks. I absolutely loved the taste of all the meats. Tip: Their platters are delicious but expect to get charged $2 more for each platter if ordering from Eat24/GrubHub. Felt a little ripped off - will describe more below. Was looking for dinner and saw this "Hot and New" place with a solid five star rating on Yelp so I was intrigued, (particularly since I had a meh experience at the new Halal Guys in Farmingdale at their grand opening). Saw they had online ordering via Eat24/GrubHub so I got a chicken rice platter for me and a combo (chicken and lamb) rice platter for the husband -- platter basically is meat, rice, and fresh diced veggies. Was given 20-30 min est ready time when I ordered, but the emailed confirmation (which came at the same time) had a 10-20 min est ready time, which was confusing. The Eat24 email also had a typo in the restaurant's ph # (416 area code instead of 516). Arrived about 20 mins after ordering. The food wasn't quite ready yet but only had to wait 2-3 mins. We were able to check in on Yelp to get a free drink (canned soda or water), which was nice. We were given 3 white sauces and 2 red sauces (and was asked if that was ok, so I assume we could've asked for more if we wanted). Food was piping hot and smelled really good in car. Was able to dig in 15 mins later. At first glance, was nervous that the chicken would be spicy since it was reddish orange color, but it wasn't. Was a little disappointed it didn't come with pita bread like I'm used to from other places, but it was still good. There was a good rice to meat to veggie ratio. Really liked the long-grain rice. The veggies included shredded lettuce and diced tomatoes and cucumber, which worked well. The sauce was pretty good, but I was able to distinctly taste the mayo - I think the Halal Guys sauce is a bit better. I was able to make do with 1.5 little containers of white sauce, but probably could've used 2. Didn't try the lamb (which were cut into big cubes) or the red/hot sauce, but my husband enjoyed both. He typically doesn't use the Halal Guys red sauce since it's unpalatable to him, but was able to eat this. He thought the platter was good but didn't think it was better than 53rd/6th Halal Guys. I don't know if I was that hungry or if the food was that good, but for the first time ever, I finished all my food by myself. Like every bite. Felt uncomfortably full after but that's totally on me. After I finished eating, I took a look at some of the pictures I had taken at the store, which included their menu. It was only at this point that I realized the platters actually cost $5.99, but I was charged $7.99 on Eat24.. which made me feel a little ripped off. I know restaurants probably have to pay a fee to make themselves available on Eat24, but a 33% upcharge is pretty ridiculous. At the end of the day, it's just $2, but I'm not a fan of restaurants charging different amounts depending on the mode of ordering for the same food - feels deceptive. The food is good so I would definitely return but will not order online in the future. read more

Okay, i have came in around 3 or 4 times to order food here. I love halal and i love trying foods from different cultures! However my experience here was ruined with the rudeness and lack of professionalism from the workers. The workers were rude upon entering and it seemed as if they didn't want any customers in there. They took really long to make the food which is ok but when i simply asked how my order was coming they responded very rude and told me 'asking doesn't make the food come out quicker'.
