The lamb gyro and chicken over rice plate feel more like European ones except meat is not shaved but diced. The dishes have cleaner taste, particularly less cumin-dominated and less greasy comparing to other halal stores on LI. The portions are on smaller side. The store is clean.

False advertising. Prices shown on the menu for a Philly cheesesteak $6.99. Prices charged $7.99. I had a Groupon which wasn't accepted. I was told by the gentleman behind the counter that the boss wasn't picking up the phone. All in all, disappointed.

I read some reviews here before I headed over. Here's what I ordered with my opinions on each item. (: LAMB OVER RICE PLATTER: I loved it. I was pleased with the rice because good halal rice has been hard to find lately, but it was pretty greasy for me. (I don't know if it's usually like that or if that's a popular opinion, lol). The meat was cooked PERFECTLY & the white sauce isn't too thick. The green sauce is amazing! PHILLY CHEESESTEAK: My fiancé was impressed. I ordered it with "meat & cheese only" but he got some sauces on it. (I think they were ketchup & mayo). He wasn't very happy about it but said the sandwich itself was really good. He's always on the hunt for a good philly. GYRO: I dropped it off at my mom's but took a bite and it was good! FRIES: YUM!!!!! I love their type of fries! Flaky and crispy... so so good. I got a free can of soda with my order of the fries & gyro, cool! I also grabbed us each a 'birthday cake ice cream bar' for us for dessert. $2 each? Nice! And yummy!!! They also have other ice cream snacks in a freezer next to the beverage cooler. Both have a nice variety of options. I would rate Naz's a 5. I would DEFINITELY RECOMMEND giving Naz's a try. Great prices, very generous portions, great staff & taste. We have been twice and I can't wait to go back! PS, thanks for staying open during this time! Stay safe!!

I ordered from here using Uber Eats pickup. They had a BOGO deal going on so I decided to give it a shot. However the name on Uber Eats they used is called "Hummus Bowls". The food was above average and tasted fresh, their hummus is not bad. In the future, I like to have the sauce on the platter instead of on the side. I would come here again if they had the same BOGO deal.

Big portion, lamb and chicken are very tender and flavorful even without the sauce, maybe a bit too flavorful that I found myself drinking lots of water afterwards. As previous reviewer mentioned, you can definitely taste the mayo in the white sauce. Also the cumin really shines through. I love cumin and I think it goes well with lamb, but if you are not a fan then might want to consider getting salad instead of rice. Decent n quick meal but is it good enough for me to return? Maybe when I really crave city food truck halal.

Respectable for the genre, we ordered a lamb over salad and chicken gyro. The platters the way to go here The gyro was very messy, so if you're on a date or trying to snack on the way anywhere think again Overall I would go back and probably get the lamb over rice. green and white sauces were tasty as usual the red sauce is super spicy If you're in the area check it out, for dessert red mango is next door!

Like the rest of the Island, I've been on a halal rice platter binge. When I saw that Naz's opened up near my house, I went to try it. And I was blown away. It's located in the shopping center with King Kullen and Starbucks, so there's parking space usually available. The inside is kept really clean, not a formal restaurant-y vibe but it is well lit and there are a few tables if you're going to stay to eat. I like that the counter and kitchen looks wide and open. The food is dang good. I had the chicken over rice the first time I went and the the combo rice platter on my second time. The rice is seasoned and cooked really well, which I was pleased about. I felt the fennel come through over all the sauce. The veggies don't look super fresh because they are not vibrant but once you bite into them, you feel that fresh crunchy cooling sensation. They give you a heaping portion for the price (an equivalent Halal chain I went to had half the amount of food for the same price). The meats are juicy and flavorful as well. They'll put the sauce on the platter but they also have sauces packaged and ready to go if you want it on the side. Both times I went, the place really hit all the marks- good location, good price, good people, good portion, and good flavor. I will definitely be back to try more.

Intro: Though you might associate NYC proper with delicious halal food like Halal Guys, if you venture out into the suburbs of Long Island, you are bound to find this hidden treat. I ordered this two separate times during a 10 day stay. Getting There: This place is located in a huge plaza so parking is not a problem. Best advice is to order ahead for pickup. Food: I ordered the combo rice platter (chicken and lamb, pictured). The portions are quite large given its price and very filling - I wouldn't be surprised if 2 people who eat on the smaller portion size could share one. The meats are grilled perfectly (moist, juicy, flavorful) and the vegetables add a great balance. Be sure to pick up or request their sauces. I love the combination of barbecue and spicy sauces. Final Say (tl;dr): It is a shame that this hidden gem is off the beaten path in terms of tourism, because it is very good and 100% worth the price.

Probably the best halal food I ever ate. I wish the platter was actually filled and had more sauce... but the chicken had a lot of flavor so I still enjoyed it, especially with the cucumber part of the plate. I asked for extra lettuce, an extra fork, and green sauce on the side and the guy working was very kind. He smiled every time I asked him for something so that was a plus as well. Extremely kind workers and food was amazing! Definitely will be coming back

***INDO-CHINESE FLAVOR BOMB IN YOUR MOUTH*** ***SUPER…read moreFRIENDLY FAMILY-RUN RESTAURANT*** INDO-CHINESE? In the early 1800's a large number of Chinese citizens, immigrated to Calcutta, a city in the northern part of India, close to China. After becoming established, many of these immigrants started opening restaurants to support themselves. And then, because of a lack of certain ingredients, and to tailor the food to the palates of the Indian citizens, these Chinese chefs altered their recipes. And these new recipes, incorporated certain Indian spices, and a heavier use of spices and sauces - which made these new style dishes especially appealing - and created what is known today as Indo-Chinese, or Indian-style Chinese food. MASTER CHEF MIKE TENG Mike Teng, son of Hakka Chinese parents, was born and raised in India. He started cooking at 14, and eventually became a head chef preparing Indo-Chinese food in Mumbai. Then in 1984, he emigrated to the US and worked in the restaurant industry, until he became executive chef at the famous Jade Eatery & Lounge in Forrest Hills Queens. And it was here that he became notorious for his unique cuisine, and went on to receive numerous accolades. A DIFFERENT APPROACH After seven years of grueling work at Jade, Mike decided to take a break from the restaurant industry for a while. Then in 2019 he opened Teng's Restaurant, and set up operations in a way that would minimize work. As such, the restaurant would only open for dinner, between 4-11 PM, and there would be minimal table service. So let me explain how this works: You sit down at a table, and a friendly family member takes you order and helps with recommendations if necessary. And then you grab paper plates & cups, and plastic utensils from a shelf by the front counter. There's also a refrigerator here with drinks to choose from. And then the food is served to you at the table in take-out style containers. THE KEY TO ORDERING HERE There are a relatively large number of items on the menu, but most of the dishes can be broken down into a few different styles, such as Hakka Chili, Manchurian, Salt And Pepper, Orange, Szechuan, Basil, Kung Pao, and Ginger & Scallion. And the key to ordering here is to avoid choosing multiple dishes in the same style, as the meal & flavors can become one-note in nature. But if your vigilant, and pick some of the best items from each style, you will be rewarded with an Indo-Chinese flavor bomb in your mouth. FIRST TIME? GIVE THESE A SHOT So a few recommendations to try on a first visit, if you're able to enjoy spicy foods would be: - Hakka Chili Style Chicken or Beef - Salt and Pepper Style Fish Filets or Chicken - Orange Chicken or Kung Pao Chicken - Manchurian Style Fish or Chicken - General Tso's Chicken or Tofu - Ginger and Scallion Chicken - Szechuan Wontons or Momos - Orange Glazed Wings or Hakka Chili Wings - Basil Fried Rice - Hakka Noodles And here's a few vegetable recommendations: - Manchurian style Cauliflower or Salt and Pepper Cauliflower - Szechuan Potato or Potato with Black Bean Sauce - Spicy Stir Fried String Beans. - Mapo Tofu - Manchow Soup with or without meat YOU'RE PROBABLY GONNA LOVE THIS PLACE After many visits here with dozens of different people, I've noticed first-timers always react the same way when trying one of chef Teng's best dishes. Their eyes open wide, and the head starts slowly shaking side-to-side, and then I hear grunts of mmm! or wow! I mean really, it never fails to be a wonderful surprise for everyone. But don't get me wrong, not everything on the menu is a home run. For example, some of the Asian fusion dishes such as Pad Thai or Mango Chicken are just weird. So even though there are some things to overlook here, such as no lunch service, or the cafeteria style vibe, If you choose some of the chef's best dishes, for sure that flavor bomb is going to hit you right in the mouth, and you'll definitely be coming back here for more. I always do.

I ordered the mixed chicken and lamb over rice with a side of French fries, loaded with both white sauce and barbecue sauce. The platter was massive and beautifully layered. The chicken was tender, juicy, and packed with warm spices, while the lamb was perfectly seasoned, thinly sliced, and had that rich, savory flavor that pairs so well with the fluffy, flavorful rice. The French fries were crispy and mixed right in, adding great texture. I loved the contrast between the cool, creamy garlic white sauce and the smoky, tangy barbecue sauce. They complemented the meat perfectly and I ended up drizzling extra on every bite. The portion was so generous I could barely finish it, but it made for an amazing lunch the next day too. I also got the lamb gyro with white sauce on the side. The pita was soft and warm, stuffed generously with thinly sliced, marinated lamb that was crispy on the edges and super flavorful. Fresh tomatoes, onions, and lettuce added a nice crunch, and that signature creamy white sauce tied everything together beautifully. Every bite was juicy, savory, and downright addictive. Everything tasted fresh, made to order, and you can tell they use quality ingredients. This is my new go-to spot for halal food on Long Island. If you're craving Mediterranean/halal eats done right, do yourself a favor and stop here. You won't be disappointed!

3.5 Stars for their lunch specials!…read more This was our first visit, and we only ordered a salad and two lunch specials. I would definitely come back to try other items from their regular menu. I found the entrees in the lunch special a little skimpy. These are the dishes we shared: -- Papaya Salad ($12): this is from their regular menu, and I thought it was excellent! Well balanced and so tasty! -- Drunken Noodles w.Beef (Lunch Special $14.95): this came with a Spring Roll and your choice of either Soup or Salad. We chose the Soup, which was a Tom Yum Soup. The Soup was very spicy but the Drunken Noodles were very mild; almost bland. It definitely needed more flavors and wok hei, but still ok. -- Massaman Curry w.Shrimp (Lunch Special $14.95): this came with a Spring Roll and your choice of either Soup or Salad. We chose the Salad, which came with a Peanut sauce. The Salad was actually pretty good; the peanut sauce was slightly sweet. The Massaman Curry w.Shrimp was very weak in flavor and only came with 3 little shrimps. I would suggest you order a different protein and skip the shrimp. Customer service was good; albeit there was nobody to greet us when we first arrived, so we just seated ourselves. But service got better. They didn't rush us to order and let us linger after we finished eating. But after a while, we were asked to leave since they close the restaurant in between the lunch and dinner service (between 3:30-4:30pm). Sorry, we were not aware of this! All in all, a decent first experience. Next time, I'd skip the lunch specials and just order off their regular menu.

The pad woon sen had a good ratio of chicken, veggies and noodles. Our favorite though was the crab fried rice. It was nice and fluffy, lots of fresh crab meat and very tasty. I would definitely order the fried rice again. Next time maybe I'll try dining in as their interior look nicely decorated.
