    Chicken gyro platter
    Lori R.

The food was very good and freshly made to order. There were some tables available for dining in. The portions were very generous. Lots of items to choose from including Gyros and barbecued platters and more traditional platters. I had the Gyro platter with chicken. It was very tasty and served with Basmati rice, salsa and fries. My husband had the lamb gyro which was also a good choice. Overall good food, friendly service and good value.

The service is warm, friendly, and prompt. The food is affordable and has provided some of my favorite meals I've ever had. You cannot beat this place. Al Kababi is a hidden gem you need to try. As a customer, you feel remembered and valued, which adds to the ambiance. I cannot praise this place enough, please try it and see for yourself.

Great Authentic Karachi style food. Great taste, reasonable price, staff is real nice especially the owner (Amir bhai). Will definitely come back

    The so-called Gyro

my sister and I were craving Gyro's. We stumbled upon this place. We ordered a chicken platter, Gyro and a lamb platter. Gyro. We were assuming that they would come in naan as that is the definition of a Gyro, but upon receiving the food, it was just rice the meat and salad there was no naan. after we complained and said that we misunderstood. She bought out a Gyro that was basically a Wrap when we explained to her that we were expecting a platter. She said this is a Pakistani restaurant and this is our definition. The customer does not know the Pakistani Mexican Indian Bangladeshi version of anything when they read the word Gyro. They know what that stand stands for it could've been an easy fix she could have given my sister what she asked for but instead she continue to tell us that this is a Pakistani restaurant. We are very disappointed and will not be coming back and the food was not that tasty anyway. I'm gonna put a picture.

I admit it, I love the skin! We ordered a bucket of 8 pieces, and chose mac and cheese and cole slaw. We also ordered a side of jalapeno corn bread. There's really no good news here. The chicken was so dry inside, we couldn't eat it and thrw out all 8 pieces. The mac and cheese wasn't terrible, but I've certainly had better. It too was dry, and was basically one big piece of mac and cheese. The cole slaw was..... interesting. It was an odd pinkish color (red cabbage?) with really no sauce that I could find. My hunt for great fried chicken,,,, withnthe damned skin on..... continues.

I ordered the sweet potato bowl with brisket, tomatoes and onions. I had one drink, whiskey pig bourbon, was very good. The restaurant has a fun cocktail list and a lot of bourbons. Can't wait to take my husband here

I used to order their ramen (which was absolutely delicious by the way) a few years ago until the…read moreprices increased and hadn't been back until recently because I wanted to try something else (and starving by the way from fasting for a test) and was in the area. There's a tiny little free parking lot directly in front with 4-5 spaces and some spaces all the way in the back which was very cramped and full when I was there. I ended up parking in the free spots next door (much more spacious) for the flower shop and walked over. This deli has a ton of choices ranging from sandwiches, wraps, ramen, breakfast items and breakfast drinks, hot food to go (charged by the lb), Korean food, pre-packaged drinks as well as homemade looking drinks (ie teas, smoothies). Honestly I was pretty overwhelmed at all the options! I ended up picking #16 which was a grilled chicken wrap with 5 egg whites and turkey bacon. The chicken (a bit dry) needed some sort of flavoring like a sauce of some sort but it overall tasted okay because the flavoring was mainly the turkey bacon. I also got their japchae to go for lunch the following day which was very good. When waiting for my food, I was chatting with who I assume was one of the owners, super friendly and sweet by the way! I'll definitely be returning to get the ramen again and perhaps one of the homemade drinks! P.S. They close pretty early (2:30p?) so that kind of sucks.

Subject: Disappointing Experience at Vespa - Saturday, August 8th…read moreDear Vespa Management Team, I am writing to share my deep disappointment regarding my dinner at Vespa Italian Kitchen & Bar on Saturday, August 8th. I frequently travel 20 miles to dine in Farmingdale specifically for a premium culinary experience, but this visit ensures that Vespa is no longer a destination restaurant for me. For our table, I ordered two orders of your signature "Clams Vespa" appetizer. According to your menu, this dish features baked little neck or top neck clams. Instead, we were served tiny, cockle-sized clams that were severely overcooked. They were so badly burnt that it was entirely impossible to extract any clam meat from the shells because it was stuck completely. When I raised this issue with our waitress, she brought back a single replacement plate. While this second plate of tiny clams was prepared correctly and tasted delicious because they weren't burnt, it only resolved half of the issue. When I brought up the bill discrepancy to my server, she stated she would hand it to the manager. However, after waiting 15 minutes with no resolution, I was forced to get up, approach the manager myself, and state that I wanted to leave. Only then did the manager expedite the bill correction and take one order of clams off my tab. Between dealing with unannounced substitutions, poor kitchen quality control, and a frustratingly slow service recovery process, the evening was highly disappointing. Combined with an aggressive parking citation issued on Main Street during our meal, the entire 40-mile round trip felt like a complete waste of time and money. I expected much higher quality control and efficiency from a restaurant of your reputation. I hope you address these kitchen execution and front-of-house communication issues so that other long-distance diners are not subjected to the same experience.

We ordered meatballs and fried calamari as appetizers. There were four meatballs in a sweet marinara sauce - very tasty. The calamari were very good as well. As an entree, I ordered the tagliatelle Bolognese. The tagliatelle were made on site and the sauce was fresh. For desert my wife and I shared a lava cake with a scoop of chocolate gelato. The desert was excellent, but the rainbow cheesecake my son ordered was phenomenal. There is no parking lot dedicated to the restaurant, however, there is a parking garage nearby and the first three hours are free. We went mid-week, I cannot guarantee that the free, three hour parking extends to the weekend. Price to serving is good, I was hungry and had a difficult time finishing the entire entree. The only downside was the cappuccino was awful. It could be that my cappuccino was decaffeinated because the one ordered by my daughter and wife were just fine.
