I got a notification I believe last month about the service changing to a different doctor as it turns out the new doctor has absorbed the clientele list of Dr Nazo. so the new doctor is working very hard to put the service back together with her existing clients from her other office. This place is okay for weight loss but Botox was a mistake for me. She tried to give me double the amount I usually get from my previous provider for a brow lift. Thankfully I negotiated to 50% more because my forehead fell and now I just have puffy eyelids with no crease to be found. I can't imagine what it would look like if she gave me the amount she wanted to. Then after complaining, they had me come back and she told me I needed more to fix it but she only did one side and now my brows are heavier and one is lower than the other. They did give me my money back but it's honestly not enough for the upset this has caused me. I can't wait for it to wear off, but it won't be soon enough. read more

Don't bother if your looking for a civil surgeon to help you with immigration. My wife and Il made an appointment that was scheduled the following week. After making an appointment with the very helpful assistant last week we went into the office today only to be turned away. I explained to them that per the immigration website as well as the information that I got my immigration attorney that all we needed was to get any shots needed as well as update our vaccine records with any new shots as well as COVID shots. This of course was only going to cost me about $50 to have this done but when we got there the Dr. ( if you wanna call him one) wouldn't help us because we didn't need any bloodwork and or a physical conducted. He obviously couldn't waste his time making only $50 taking 10 mins to update our paperwork he wanted the big pay day of charging us over $300 for what we didn't need. I asked to speak to him so he could explain why he couldn't help us knowing that we've had appointment in his office for a week and now won't be able to see another Dr. because our appointment is only days away. He reluctantly came back to the window to speak to me and when I asked him why he wouldn't help us he just said he won't do just the paperwork. I then asked him if it's a matter that he can't or won't and of course he wouldn't answer. Since this is a one and done appointment I wasn't even sure of his name and when I asked him for his name he wouldn't give it to me. The assistant had to write his name down of her business card. What a total SCAM and WASTE of time. I as well as my immigration attorney will be filing a complaint with the CA medical board as well as civil surgeon of USCIS. I gave them a one star only because I felt bad for the woman in the office that I originally spoke to. I may be wrong but she actually looked embarrassed by what had just happened. read more

Empire Medical Center offers both cosmetic and medical treatment at their location. I came in for medical treatment and was seen by Dr. Nazo, who, from what I have read in the previous reviews, attends to patients for both cosmetic and medical needs. I finally got medical insurance after not having it for twelve years. I decided on Dr. Nazo as my PCP after finding some positive reviews somewhere online (not Yelp). I came in to have a growth on my back checked that has all of the symptoms of a melanoma, both my knees are injured, I wanted to test for a particular food allergy that runs in my family, my spine is slightly crooked, and I wanted a physical (I know this seems like a lot, but keep in mind I had not been to see a doctor in twelve years, so all of these things had been around for a while). A nurse took my weight and temperature and drew my blood as well. When Dr. Nazo came to see me he wanted to give me a breast exam. I thought this seemed really weird. Though it's been a while since I've had a physical, no other doctor has ever tried to give me a breast exam while getting a physical. I'm not trying to be mean, but he gives off the "creep old man vibe", so I told him no. He seemed upset at this. He then checked my heartbeat and gave me a cream for the growth on my back as though it were a rash. Everything about him was so unprofessional. I'm pretty sure there are other things a doctor is supposed to do when giving a physical, but he literally did NOTHING other than try to touch my breast and check my heartbeat. No one even bothered to check my blood pressure! He then asked about the pain I have in my knees. I told him my cousin is a physical therapist and said it sounded like I have quad and patellar tendonitis in both my knees but she could not properly diagnose me over the phone and without an MRI. He told me in a condescending way that I didn't know if I had tendonitis if all I did was talk to her over the phone, which is exactly what I had just told him. That's why I was there!! I could tell he was just trying to make it known that he's the doctor, not me. He then had me lie down on my back and slightly bend my knees. He gently touched the sides my knee with two fingers as I bent them each once in a 45 degree angle. He later called to inform me that I did not have arthritis. I was livid at this. Keep in mind I came in for TENDONITIS, not ARTHRITIS. When I told my physical therapist cousin how he examined me she agreed that that's not the way to check any knee injury and he was supposed to recommend an MRI. As far as my dairy allergy goes, he said there was a way to test for it, but he didn't want to waste money. I can only assume that it costs him money whenever a dairy allergy test is administered; otherwise I have no idea why he was so against me getting it. He didn't even address my spine. I hate to judge a book by its cover, but the entire time I was there I couldn't help but take in my surroundings. The place is in incredibly bad condition and you can tell no efforts are being made to keep it updated and presentable. It's not dirty, just not cared for. As I walked back to my car I passed by what I could tell was his reserved parking spot. He had an old Mercedes that was in as bad condition as the building his practice was in. The inside side panel and center console were falling apart and there was a mess of trash and other junk in the back seat. I am a huge believer in the idea that your insides match your out. If he doesn't care about the condition of some of his most important belongings, why should he care about my condition? I truly wish I had followed my instincts and left immediately. Please take the advice of these negative reviews and do not go to Dr. Nazo, especially for your medical needs. read more

BEST LASER PLACE EVER! I come here for treatment once a month for laser by Dr. Soumaya. Although its a little pricey, I think its worth every penny. Also I've noticed that this facility is not after your money. They take their time to get familiar with your skin type and see what they can do. If they see that you really dont need treatment, they will not recommend the treatments. By the way Dr. Soumaya is one of my favorite Doctors. She is the most kind and generous woman and I feel like she is another mother figure to me. She gives such great advice and once you are being treated by her, you wont even feel the pain because you get caught up in sharing stores with her. My absolute favorite!! read more

Have been going here for years and have really declined in customer care. Basically....they tried to charge me $30 for a seasonal flu shot after my insurance company told me it was 100% covered and no copay. After a call to them by a representative from my insurance..they said i would have to show symptoms first before it would be covered...HUH? First of all you cannot get any vaccinations when you are sick...second, if I'm already sick then why the hell would i want a shot to prevent it. Even my insurance rep. said they sounded shady. Empire Medical is a phenomenal place to go for laser hair removal. On my first visit, the doctor clearly explained all of the benefits and possible side effects of laser hair removal. He demonstrated how the laser would feel by removing a tiny bit of hair from my arm, so that I felt more comfortable proceeding with the treatment. Soumaya and the doctor are equally good at the procedure; however, I generally feel more comfortable having a woman do it, so I make my appointments with Soumaya unless she's booked that day. I had my underarms and upper lip done. Although Empire Medical is pricier than the other chain locations (like New Look Skin Center), Empire Medical never charges extra for numbing cream, which other places do, and they don't make you uncomfortably sit in the waiting room while the numbing cream seeps in, which other places make you do. Most importantly, Soumaya (and the doctor) build trusting relationships with their patients, which is why they have such a loyal customer/client base. They are courteous and attend to their patients' personal and medical needs. I started regularly scheduling appointments after a friend referred me to Empire Medical and I have since referred family members and friends. My friends always tell me how glad they are that I referred them and that they wouldn't try any other place. Immigrants be aware! They messed up my green card application and caused me spent $$$ and more time to resubmit. I went there last year for the immigration physical exam. They gave me a sealed envelope and a hard copy of my record. I sent out the envelope to USCIS, and received their decline letter for my application, because the medical form submitted by them is outdated for almost a year! Applicants have to submit the new form that was available since March 2015, however when I called the medical center and questioned them why the form was outdated, they couldn't explain why! And I had to bring my hard copy back to them to get the new form and resubmit, and I had to cancel an international flight to deal with the emergency. However they took my hard copy and never gave it back to me. This year I had to re-do the immigration physical exam again, so I called them to make an appointment. However they told me they don't have my record anymore, and I have to pay hundreds of dollars to do everything I did last year again, including shots I'm not supposed to get again which costs 200$! Due to their horrible service and mistake that almost got me losing my green card, I will never ever come back again! Since I have to spend $$$ i would rather spend it in any other clinic but them!!! Also their staff is very rude and full of lies. Stay away from them as far as you can! read more

I've tried laser treatment before and the place was completely shady. I had lived in the midwest then, and was very disappointed. I was working two jobs as a student to pay for the treatment. My aunt used to talk about her place in LA and how it worked for her all the time. So when my family moved to California, I decided to try it based on my aunts experience. I drive 1 1/2 hours to get to this place, and I'm so impressed with the service. The results are great, the staff is awesome, and everyone is so nice. The place is clearly clean, and they do their best to help you with any pain or uncomfortableness you may feel (aka, numbing cream :D which I definitely opt to use because I seem to have such a low tolerance for pain, haha). Anyways, I would seeeeriously recommend this place to anyone, I love having smooth skin, and having only done 3 times so far, I can't believe the results are this great this early on. read more
