So, we were actually planning to buy a car at the dealership next door, but they turned out to be very sketchy. We knew nothing about Empire and decided to check out their lot. We are so happy that we did. We ended up with a 2011 Lexus RX350 with low miles and at a great price. When we first looked inside, there were rips in the seats and the salesman said immediately that he would fix them if we bought the car. To be honest, I just thought they would patch them. I came back to pick up the car a few days later and I think they completely replaced the upholstery because the seats look brand new. Late review, but I want to prevent people from getting hustled from this scandalous dealership. It's hard to make money out there, and these folks want to take advantage of people who have no knowledge about cars. I have a record that I had to replace my tires less than a month after purchasing this car back on 9/18/2018. Ray and their technician at Empire Motors said the tires were good for a couple of thousand miles, but I still went to get it inspected because the low air pressure kept being on while driving. I went to Americas Tire in Costa Mesa on 10/13/2018, and the technician said it's very dangerous to drive with these tires on because of the big gouge and a very low tread. Ray replied in my review, "I am not sure if you are just trying to hurt a small business with your reviews and what joy you get of this. Your reviews are certainly doubtful at best and we are so very disappointed." I do not get joy out of this Ray-san. You have dishonored your family and your business by lying to your customers. You are trying to pull out the victim's card saying that I am hurting local small businesses. However, you are taking advantage of hard-working Californians of their money! Before and after the purchase Ray was very responsive to me. Seeing some other comments...yes, this is a used vehicle (mine 9yrs old) so it is wise to check it over before purchasing even by your own mech if you want to play it safe. When my personal mechanic discovered issues with the car Ray not only honored the provided warranty but went out of his way to accommodate my work schedule so that I did not have to take time off of work for the service fixes and even detailed the car before I picked it up. Look up both and note their history. If you are a conscientious shopper, have knowledge of car fee's, and general common sense, avoid this dealership and avoid Ray at all costs. He does not like to be asked questions, if you call him on his bs, he'll ask you to leave. I went to buy a car at their advertised price and was given a completely different price due to their installed LoJack, an additional $1,495 dollars, in the otd price write up, there were other misc charges simply marked "other" with no explanation. If you question him, he will get upset. If you are desperate for a car, and agree to their unscrupulous practices, outright shady excuses, go for it. If you are, in any way, mindful of the purchases you make, and careful about what you sign, ask questions, do research , avoid this place. They will screw you. There are many dealersships, many places that are honest, so look around elsewhere...and by all means, avoid Ray and Empire Motors in Ontario or their other location. Absolute shady! DISHONEST business. Called ahead to test drive 2 cars. Drove 21/2 hours from San Diego in traffic and the cars are not on the lot. One had to be transported over which took over 30 minutes. The mileage and color was completely wrong-not what was listed online. I was lied to and completely wasted an entire Saturday. DO NOT TRUST. lady on the phone told me they close at 8pm and i confirmed before leaving the house. i drive all the way from the valley to pomona through rush hour traffic on a Monday after work, tired, hungry, and dragged my wife to check out a car. when we arrived at 710pm THEY WERE CLOSED. i call the other branch who was open and they try calling the manager who did not pick up. they will relay what happened in the morning so perhaps someone can call me back to patch things up. NOTHING. crickets. speaks to what kind of company this is. bad customer service, bad follow through, terrible agents who lie/say the wrong information. no service recovery. please train your staff to know what your hours are; or DO NOT CLOSE if you have told someone who will be on the way that you are closing at 8pm. i cannot believe i wasted my time, effort, gas, and hunger on these crapshoot people. However they kept about $450 of my money. I will be taking them to small claims to get the test of my money back. I bought the truck down the street. Same company. He really made me and my girlfriend feel like we could take all the time that we needed to feel comfortable with the purchase, and he spent considerable time in the car with us test driving the vehicle. Don't waste \your time and money. Once I paid in full for the car they showed me the carfax which I had to sign off on, IO could have gotten out of it then, but didn't.. UGH !! The car I went to look at had 14,000 MORE miles on it than the ad said. Also, an accident and 5 owners. So, if you make the mistake of going here, check the carfax first. 10 days after I had the 2015, the battery dies completely ( $220) while the AAA man was there I had him look at my headlights. I have driven 3 times at night , it always seemed like the lights were dim. Thats because only the fog lights work ! So, on my way to my mechanic now... The cars come with no warranty, so this is on me. dumb mistake . Don't waste your time on this shoddy place.l They lie through their teeth and the receptionist has the most inane lies for everything. These guys took great care of me, were patient with all of my questions, allowed me to have the car professionally inspected TWICE and even threw in new tires since they were badly needed. I had my doubts and was nervous as I signed the dotten line, but the car has now been in my possession for over a year and I LOVE IT! It's been great and I have not had a single problem with it at all. I did need to do a little standard maintenace, but nothing extravegant, unexpected or unusual.
