We ordered the Midnight Cowboy which was the special that was covered in delicious beef brisket and lots of other topping and a sriracha bbq glaze....YUM! We also ordered the Notorious P.I.G. with pepperoni, Italian sausage, bacon, and Canadian bacon. The meat pizza was actually my favorite of the two and it was OUTSTANDING. We appreciated that there was a seal on the box that kept others from entering the "pizza space." That certainly gave us peace of mind. I cannot speak for the ambiance since we ordered delivery. Service and ambiance are the two things that I'd expect anywhere I spend my time and money. But we go to eating establishments to eat good food. If food is good and satisfying, we keep going back. Unfortunately, this Slice House has a way to go to match the Empire on 16th. Our pizza dough was not fully baked. And how can you enjoy a doughy slice of zza? We observed others pizza crust and it was browned. Ours was white. Maybe it was too busy and they were trying to meet everyone's orders quick. Long time fan of Empire. Finally stopped into the Edmond location for lunch on a Sunday. Very cute restaurant on the inside. Modern and kid friendly. Asked if they did slices of the monthly special pizza and the kind bartender said only on Mondays. Ordered the mushroom slice (fungus among us) and the spicy chicken (Foghorn). They have draft beer at this location so I ordered a local beer, Lively Mexican Style Lager. They have great ranch and can order on side. Clean bathrooms and easy parking. I love Empire Slice, and this was my first time at this location. They offer the same menu as the other location, so I stuck with what I know and love-the Notorious PIG and the Fat Tony. I think the Fat Tony is my favorite of all those that I have tried. The restaurant offers a cool vibe and a great place to have a casual meal with friends or family. I opted to use the to go counter, so after a short wait, I was on my way. The young woman helping me was very kind. I will definitely return if I am in this part of town. read more

I've been dying to try Empire Slice House since I used to live in NY. I've been looking for a great piece of white pie ever since, and the MCA seemed like it would fit the bill. I had two slices - and while it was very, very good, it wasn't quite as good as I remember it tasting in NYC. I was only a little disappointed that the pizza by the slice was served on paper plates instead of the metal round trays like the small gluten free pizzas. Trays would've been a nice touch and better matched the atmosphere. (Paper plates feel like a mall food court?) Several other members of my party ordered various salads and they all gave rave reviews. Service was good; great location in old downtown Edmond, walking distance to shops and antique stores. I love this Empire Slice location. My favorite is the Fat Tony and the regular cheese pizza. My favorite type of pizza is New York pizza and this spot does it so well. Their Caesar salad is probably my favorite restaurant Caesar salad I've ever tried! The parmesan cheese and dressing is what makes the salad so tasty along with crispy croutons. The ambiance is eclectic with nostalgic art on the walls. The service is great and I love the booth seating, which is more enclosed making the experience very intimate. I didn't get to taste the food because the service coming into the door was terrible. We were told that we would have a 40 min. wait for a large group. We were informed that the wait had expired on the toast tab. We came back into the restaurant and waited for an additional 30 minutes. We then asked the hostess if we could sit at some tables that were open but she told us that those tables had different servers. We then asked for a manager expecting him to help accommodate our large group but he instead became argumentative. A larger table had finally opened up and we waited for a few minutes longer to be seated. The hostess begrudgingly waived us to our table and proceeded to talk to each of the servers in the immediate area while pointing at our table. No servers came to our table and after a few minutes we had finally had enough and left. Before I left I tried to talk to the same manager but he disgracefully ducked behind his assistant manager. I tried to explain how unprofessional the hostess was but it appears that the behavior that she displayed was acceptable in their eyes. What is sad that the restaurant wasn't even completely full and there was no other groups waiting when we left. So in conclusion. The hostess was the opposite of hospitable. The manager is a weak leader and the I've had the food before.... It isn't worth that crappy service. read more

I love this place in Edmond! It's continently located just west of Broadway on 1st, just one block down. The inside is bright and airy at the front of the restaurant and a little darker the further in you go. You have your choice of lighting! The service is top notch and friendly. Now for the pizza...I've never seen pizza by the slice so big!! Two slices and you'll be stuffed! All choices are great, but the Foghorn Leghorn, with sriracha drizzle, is my favorite! It's slightly spicy and not overwhelming at all. They do a lot of take out business and the size of those boxes are HUGE!! You cannot go wrong here! read more

Stopped in on a nice day for a walk around the downtown area. It was a relatively early evening (around 4PM) on a Saturday. My wife and I sat at the bar as usual (generally the best service anywhere) and was promptly greeted. The bartender/server was quick to come over and super nice... Granted we were the only 2 people at the bar. Ordered a couple of drinks which were good. The draft beer was cold and fresh tasting. Ordered a slice of pepperoni as we had plans to dine at another restaurant later in the evening. They cut it in half for us without asking, kudos for that. The pizza was hot and seemingly fresh. Really nice thin crust and very tasty. If I were to order a whole pizza, I would probably ask for double sauce, but that's just me. It was good and we will definitely order pizza delivery from here in the future. 5-stars on the pizza. The place seemed to be clean and well kept. A lot of servers for few people, but again, it was very early evening. I would expect they get busy later in the day. My ONLY 1 complaint would be about their selection of music. Probably good for the later younger crowd, but seemed a bit loud for 4PM. Still great pizza! read more

Stopped by on a whim on a week night evening for dinner and though the wait was over an hour for table, the bar was open seating and serves dinner and we were able to sit immediately. The service was a struggle and really defined this experience for us. The couple that came and sat down next to us after we ordered our drinks seemed to us to have a superior service experience, including getting their drinks before us, their food before us, and getting to leave before us. That's really hard when you're trying to have a fun experience out. We ordered the featured pizza of the month and then after waiting for said pizza had to re-order because they were unable to make it. It happens and had it be the only snafu, would have been a non-issue. The second time ordering I failed to recognize that the No Sleep Till Brooklyn did not have a red sauce on the pizza. I was avoiding the pizzas labeled (white pie) on the menu, this pizza did not have the white pie warning label, nor did this pizza have a red sauce, it was what I consider a white pie. The Fungus Among Us side was excellent, per the usual. We were told our pizza was going to take a while so if we were hungry, we better order an appetizer. We skimmed the menu and ordered the spinach artichoke dip. Then the dip took a long while to get, but in the end I really enjoyed the appetizer. The dip was delicious, the wafer thin crackers were just a vessel for the dip, I think the vessel could be better. We'll try again sometime in the future and see how it goes, but I'm not in a hurry to return. June 2022 read more

I'd previously had Empire slice downtown and really enjoyed it so now that it's closer to home we decided to get takeout! We got half and half Foghorn Leghorn/Notorious P.I.G. They were both good but nothing amazing. My husband said "it was fine but I wouldn't get again". I had to remove the italian sausage as it looked spoiled. Went in at 6:30 to ask for a table of 16 (with children) and was given a wait time of 40 min. We waited 1 hour and 30 minutes and were still waiting in the entrance when the restaurant was practically empty. I went up to the host (who immediately rolled her eyes at me) and politely asked if we could be sat in a section where I thought we could all fit. She told me no and was not willing to help fix the situation. I then proceeded to ask her for the manager to see if he could find a solution. The manager came up and I asked the same question. I was told "to not tell him how to do his job because he is the one that worked there." The situation only escalated and I tried explaining to him that we have been waiting way past the quoted time. He still then did not want to help us until I was practically begging him for a table. He then finally let us sit in the spot and the "big top" got up when they were prepping the other spot. He came over and offered the big top and we told him that we were fine with waiting for the big table. This is when we began to feel extremely uncomfortable. The host went up to the servers and was talking poorly on us and pointing directly at us when we were no more than 3 feet away. The entire wait staff was staring at my entire family at this point. No one came to our table to greet us or give us drinks. It was extremely uncomfortable for all of us and have never felt so unwelcome in a restaurant before. My advice is to find a new host because no telling how many customers she is treating this way. read more

Ordered a large pizza to go and we were amazed at the pizza crust!! Wow! It was perfectly chewy, not greasy at all, and kind of like exactly how you'd want a breadstick to be. My family was impressed. I've never had pizza crust like it! We really enjoyed Joezilla, and Teflon Don was kind of like a glorified combo pizza. Overall, great pizza. Glad to have an empire in Edmond. We always do takeout so, this review is only based on the online ordering and pizza. We ordered online, there is a $1.00 service charge online, and we tipped 18% to pickup our pizza. They only had 15%-20% tip option online, and we were already charged a service fee so, we decided on 18%. It's funny how each location tastes a little different. When I say different, I mean the crust is slightly a different flavor. The regular location I feel like has a thinner crust and is kind of on the dry side, less sauce and cheese. The second location the crust is actually crunchy and more stiff, also less sauce and cheese. This location had more sauce, more cheese, and a slightly thicker crust. It's literally all different, but the toppings are the same. We did half evil empire and half Doug E Fresh. The pizza tasted good, and I'm glad another reviewer mentioned the less sauce issue, because our pizza was perfectly saucy. This is our favorite pizza company at the moment so, we will definitely come back with the kids and dine in next time. read more

Out here in Edmond, OK and was feeling pizza. Was told to come here for pizza. Eventually a colleague wanted to join in for dinner. Got here and each had a beer. We shared a 20" pie and went half and half on the pie. 1st half is the Fungus Among Us and 2nd half is the Teflon Don. The pizzas did not disappoint! It looks delicious as much as it tastes fantastic. It really sufficed my pizza crave. If you're ever passing through Edmond, this should be a place on your list to go to for pizza. The pizza here is as good as the original, and even more convenient for us folks up north. This location doesn't have as much soul as the original nor is the service as good... but it's a concession I'll make to avoid the drive downtown. There's not a bad thing on the menu. Hell even sometimes just plain old cheese is king at times. The slices are large, the crust is perfect, and there's just nothing to be even remotely unhappy about! This was our first trip to Empire Slice and we were not disappointed at all. One at our table had pizza by the slice and I was surprised how big the slices were. Another one had the 10 inch Gluten free and had the RBG Supreme topping on it. We decided to have the 1/2 and 1/2. Which is a 20 inch pizza. We had half being RBG Supreme and the other side Foghorn Leghorn. The Foghorn is spicy. The 20 inch gives you 4 huge slices each. So we took 2 slices each home. The service is outstanding and the decor is very distracting as there is so many cool things to see. Will we be back... Absolutely.
