I had a sliding door that was 40 years old and had lost one wheel and subsequently ground the track down to a razor sharp edge and would no longer slide. My general contractor had about given up on the repair. I decided to see if there was anyone around who could repair it since I did not want to spend 3500 for a new retrofit. Our home is aprox. 20 years old and we had the original sliding glass door going to the back yard, by this time the rollers were so shot that the door was very difficult to move. also the handle & lock were shot as well. Will & his co-worker came down and for about 1/7 of the price of a new door they made it look and operate like a brand new door, new rollers, new handle, new lock etc etc. They cleaned up the track area lubed everything. I am very pleasantly surprised! Very professional! Super fast response and I think very reasonable $ considering they have to drive to your home. It took two men to remove our 200 lb glass slider, they replaced the wheels underneath and then replaced the broken track with a much better, heavy duty one that will last for decades to come. Even IF I could have done it for less myself, I don't have the tools, experience nor skills to get it done in an hour (seriously, I could have never done it myself even if I had the tools, a helper and all the time in the world). read more

Save your money. Go to ACE glass. Better quality with same or even better prices. I have purchased a sliding screen door from Empire Sliding Doors, I had asked for a mid grade quality door and recived a low grade one insted. Not only that, but its too wide. I didn't think it was a problem until I tryed to put a pet gard on it. Cant find one that fits. ACE is able to get me one but soon found out that I could have gotten a way better quality door with the pet gard on it for what I have paid at Empire. I have used Empire twice within the past year, I have also referred Empire to several people, but now im letting you all know that it is not worth it. Save your money. Shop around. And he forgot to bring along invoices, so I had to call and remind after he said he would send both email and mail copy. I found Empire Sliding Door at Home Advisor. I called them directly and they came out the next day...ON TIME!. They were great. They replaced the rollers on my door. It works better now than it ever has. The stationary door had to be removed to get the slider out. Both were replaced and they cleaned the track and lubed the screen door.
