Apparently this is the "local" office for flooring installation in Maine. I cannot stress enough that you SHOULD NOT use this company. They didn't show up at the scheduled time, didn't call to tell us that was because the carpet wasn't delivered to their warehouse (we had to call them to find out what was going on), and didn't show up on the rescheduled date either because they failed to put it in their computer system. Contacting them for customer service is a total run-around- waiting on hold, being called back but still getting no reasonable answers. The initial estimate process was quick and easy and the estimator was super nice. The rest of the process has been a complete nightmare. All I got was a price written on the back of the business card. When I asked about the promotion, he got angry and said it was included In the price. I spent the last 2 weeks waiting for my new carpets to be installed only for the installers to show up an hour late and tell me they don't have enough carpet to do the job!!! Are you kidding, my entire home is re-arranged to accommodate the installation... And we have to put it all back and do it all over again!!! Now I have to take day off of work to have them come back ... And I guess I should be grateful that you gave me a 5% discount on the job... Woohooo a whole $100 bucks!!! It costs me more to take the day off work!!! At my re-scheduled appt, the installers showed up at 4:30pm. It took me about an hour to clean up after the installers left at 8:30 pm and then I found all of 2 nails and 2 pieces of metal shards in different areas on the carpet. My 6 month old daughter could've found these before me and easily swallowed them!!! Horrible, horrible, horrible. Unprofessional. Rude customer service. I have never had such a bad experience as this with any service provider in my life! The in-home sales apt was fine, but everything after that...just ridiculous. You pay UP FRONT, by the way, before any work has been done. The guy who came a few days after the sales apt to measure our stairs for the carpet runner we'd ordered apparently measured everything completely wrong. But, of course, we didn't find this out until over a week later when the installers finally showed up. First, they were supposed to schedule the install within a few days. A week went by and we hadn't heard from them, so WE had to call THEM again to ask when the carpet we'd already paid for would be installed. When they finally got around to scheduling our install apt, it wasn't even an actual apt. They just said it would happen on a Wednesday - another full week out, mind you - and that someone would call us the morning of let us know when they'll be arriving. We ended up waiting around ALL day. We did get a call at 8:30 that morning saying the install guys would be there around noon. Noon came and went. At 3pm, we called the Empire AGAIN! First they said they couldn't find our info. We hung up and called back to speak with a different customer service rep. They found our info and then stated: "The installers are running late." Oh, really? You think? She put me on hold and then came back and said the they were still going to be another 2 hours...so we went from a noon apt to 5pm! THEN the install guy called me himself an hour later and said he couldn't make it until 6pm!!! Seriously. When he finally arrived at 6:20pm, he unrolled all the carpet pieces and then informs me that they're clearly cut wrong. We look at them together: yep, they're different widths and just horrible looking. He told me he could still install it, but it wouldn't look nice. So we waited around all day long for this? He said there's nothing he can do and that it's not his fault, and that I just need to call the company again to send someone out to re-measure. REALLY?! Contacted them two weeks ago about putting in a laminate floor in one bedroom. Salesman was prompt and courteous and provided a quote for the work. The quote was much higher than I expected and noted that I could've gotten it for less price with the competitor. Salesman made a phone call and they came back and matched the price. We agreed on the date and time and received the quote in writing via email the following day. Installer arrived on time and begin work immediately . He moved all the furniture himself including the hospital bed and provided us with the estimated timeline. I left the house And returned four hours later at which time he was completing cleanup. The installer was prompt courteous and efficient. I have now used these people for my laminate and carpeting needs throughout the entire home: 3 bedrooms, family room and upstairs hallway (carpeting). The whole project from the start was a complete mess. The first time they came to install they showed up with the wrong materials for my entry way. So they rescheduled. They show up the next time to tell me they only have the flooring for the bathroom and not the entry way. They'll be back in 2 days. So they do my bathroom floor. Which I was told would take 3 hours max, ended up taking 5 hours. And they almost didn't do the sides by my vanity. So, at this point I'm late for work when they leave. And I notice there's a puddle at the base of the toilet. They were supposed to replace the O ring and didn't. Even if I was supposed to buy the part I was unaware. And the rep tells me well, "they're not plummers." I called customer service that night they said someone would be there the next day and would call me. So, I took off from work to make sure I was home and available. It came to 1130 am and no call. So I call them. I get sent to the corporate office for CT and speak to Alexis Flis. She pretty much told me that the best they can do is come the next day. No discounts. Nothing for the fact that I do not have a working toilet in my house. This company is complete garbage. I am home waiting for my install today. Promised a call with a time estimate this morning of install and NO CALL. Called the 800 number and waiting almost 30 minutes for a rep, then to be told the first installer cancelled. Then told it was scheduled and I was 3rd on the list today. That entire call took 48 minutes. Well it is almost 3 PM and guess what no installer and no time estimate. I am in the online with the 800 number now trying to get answers. So at 25 minutes and a supervisor is now looking into it. At 30 minutes told they cannot reach the installer. Not winning me over and beyond poor customer service. Now onto the BBB Installers showed up around 3:50 PM and the latest update they do not have enough carpet to complete both rooms. Only going to finish 1/2 the job today. So frustrated. It was hell! I had Empire come to show me samples and didn't intend to make a decision that day. However, the salesman ,Tom Bryant, was low key but persuasive and promised to be my contact throughout. I signed a contract with installation scheduled one month later on a Monday. The week prior to installation I was bombarded with things I needed to do to prepare. I hired someone to help me disconnect 2 computers, 2 monitors, and a TV and move some of the furniture. I took the installation day off work and arranged for my dog to go to daycare. Minutes after receiving another "how to prepare" email the night before installation (Sunday), I received another email saying they didn't have the product and someone would call me the next day. I reached out to the salesman who said he would call me back in the morning. He did not. I called him in the afternoon, he needed to be reminded who I was and what the problem was, and said he would try to arrange the installation two days after and would call me back. He did not. I took another day off, made another doggy daycare reservation, and moved the painter off by two days, only to receive a call that morning from the installation manager saying they never did installations on Wednesday, and he would try for Thursday if the product "was on the truck". At this point the salesman had stopped returning my calls (so much for being with me the entire way through). I took another day off, made another doggy daycare reservation and waited for a call on Thursday morning with a time period they would come. Around lunch time someone called to give me a time, and 4 men arrived to install in the afternoon. The men do not work for Empire but are outside contractors. The installation was long and messy, but I was very happy with how the floor looked. After they left, while I was cleaning up, I realized they had done the molding incorrectly in 9 of the 10 doorway edges. I was now at the end of a week of living in chaos - electronics still disconnected, living room cluttered with lamps, pictures, small pieces of furniture, etc. When I called I was told no one could come back until the following Thursday. I said I had to work in the morning but could be available after 1:00 and to be sure they brought enough molding. I was assured on both counts. That morning the installers called and wanted to come at 8:30. I said it had to be after 1:00 and they said they would call back. I called them at 3:00 and was told they couldn't come until 6:30. At 6:30 they called and wanted to come the next morning - I said it had to be finished that day or I would dispute the charge with American Express. They arrived at 7:30, looked at the issue and said they did not have enough molding. I showed them my emails with customer service showing the 1:00 time and that enough molding would be on the truck. Miraculously they found more molding on the truck! Furniture was moved, incorrectly installed molding removed (causing dust and grit), molding was cut (causing sawdust) and the job was finished at 9:00 pm, and I was left to clean again. Two days later I was able to hire someone to help me move back the furniture and reconnect the installation. All in all, it was 2 weeks of hell, missed work, anxiety, frustration and anger. No matter the price, nothing is worth that much chaos. Do not use Empire! read more

One star is one too many. literally the one thing they are on this planet to do - put in flooring - they were utterly incapable of doing. I can't say much about their quality or workmanship because they never arrived. Not the first time I took a day off work and moved everything out of my kitchen including a cast iron steam radiator or the second time. I live in Maine, which they only install at tues and thurs. I don't live in a third world country. Surely someone can travel the 45 minutes to my house after an appt is made and put in the books weeks beforehand. Why make appts? Why have a schedule? When they asked, after giving a substantial discount the first no show, what they could do for us I told them they could, I don't know, PUT IN A FLOOR, and since that was never going to happen we'd have to go elsewhere. Not sure what part of "I have money and will pay" you they don't understand but be prepared to never, ever be able to put your furniture back into your kitchen. I don't understand how Empire is still in business. Sales guy came and that was fine. He brought samples and measured with a laser gadget, outlined a detailed floor plan and contract with all sorts of notes on what our room would entail carpet wall to wall. Note that it's not a complicated room but items such as carpet NOT going in between the stair banister legs was discussed and in his notes. (More on that later). We live in a concentrated part of Boston where parking is a challenge. I ALWAYS bring this up when there's any type of service or delivery in my neighborhood. Again, in the notes and according to the Empire sales guy, 'won't be a problem, we deliver all over Boston....'. Scheduled installation for a couple weeks later on a Friday. I was a bit irritated that Empire couldn't give me a window beyond 8am to 6pm up until THAT morning when it was reduced to 12-6. Ok....fine. Should only happen once. But still didn't love that. I called Empire at 4 to see where they were in the schedule because I had to step out for 20 minutes. The switchboard reminded me that they have until 6pm but would call the actual drivers/installers (gee, thanks). Switch did and '5:00' was the answer. Cool- so I stepped out for 20 minutes, came back and continued waiting. 6pm..... no one. I called Empire. Switch tried to remind me that they had until 6pm.... I reminded him that he's in Chicago and I'm in Boston... so it's AFTER 6pm my time. Where are they? No call to me from the drivers so far, by the way. Switch called the drivers.... again. Not sure what happened to 5:00 but at 6:10, they said "20 minutes". At this point, it's Friday night and I'm looking at having installers in my bedroom until 10-11pm. Again, fine, I'll suck it up because it should be a one time thing. 6:55pm..... a van finally rolls up to my apartment. It's drizzling. Two guys get out of the truck and the first thing said to me was "Do you want to reschedule.... it's raining". What??? I've been waiting all day, these guys could have called me WAY earlier than this to reschedule and EMPIRE Switchboard, or someone at HQ, could have managed the process if they knew the rain was going to be a problem (although, I think that's ridiculous and will hold my expletives at bay) and if the installation just couldn't be done that day. Same guy then asked.... "Do you have a garage?" At this point, my blood pressure jumped because, as mentioned, that's something I addressed already with the sales guy and was assured, 'it's not a problem'. I stated that they're here now and that I want the job done, period. Took them upstairs and it was like they had no idea what the job was! Remember those banisters? They were looking at them and scratching their heads, wondering how they were going to do this.... Again, all in the notes. Discussed at length. I should also mention, that even though Empire had a couple people call ME a couple different times to make sure I was prepared for the sales guy visit and then the installation (where I mentioned the parking issue AGAIN), I was most irritated by the two installation guys' LACK of preparedness for my installation. I blame them but more so on Empire as a whole. The lack of coordination was so apparent and resulted in my cancelling the order with the poor guys waiting for me to do so. I'm leaving some things out, but I think you'll get the gist. Very frustrating and I'll never use Empire again. I did end up going Cambridge Rug Co and not only were they a little bit cheaper, I'm supporting a local business and they spent time with me, were professional, responsive and I can't recommend them high enough! They will be on time when they come to sell you the carpet. Once they sold you, they never follow up. They cancelled the day of installation and then said our carpet was not in stock. Was told they would call us in a week, nope. Didn't hear from them. Calling their customer service is a nightmare, kept getting hung up on and hold times randomly increase as you're on the line waiting. Nobody could give as a new date for installation. Finally after 3 weeks, they show up to install and they say they don't have enough materiel to complete the job but can start it. They wanted me to pay the total balance when they were not completing the job. They finally got someone who could speak English for me to speak with and was able to make a partial payment only on the work that was being done that day. So, who knows when they will come back to finish the job. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND OVERALL EXPERIENCE. AVOID LIKE ITS THE RONA *** update - it actually gets worse**** So, it was so hard to get rescheduled. Finally rescheduled for this Tuesday and nobody showed up. Called back and was hung up on. Called back again and was told the previous rep cancelled my installation. This is bull. So fed up. The customer service reps have zero respect and empathy. Estimated time of arrival call at 1030 am that it would be an afternoon install. I called them at 5 pm, 6pm and finally 630pm. They were delayed at the previous install. Expected arrival 730 pm. This was not a small job they were coming to do, at least 3 hours. How can they possibly guarantee the work after a 12 hour day! I cancelled, and then at 730 the truck shows up. We had an absolutely horrible experience with this company with the exception of the salesperson and one very helpful person in their customer service division. On 11/7 I agreed to a contract with Empire to install luxury vinyl tile flooring in my kitchen and bathroom. I paid $420.13 as a deposit. The salesperson set up a date of Friday 12/3 for the install. He was adamant that I would receive a call from Empire 2 days prior to the install and emphasized the importance of my answering it as it would be to establish the install confirmation and the estimated time of the install on that day. However, on Monday 11/29 I received two rapid fire texts (duplicates) to confirm the install date of 12/3, and almost immediately thereafter a call from someone to also confirm it. I confirmed and told the woman calling that I was told they would call Wednesday with an estimated arrival time for 12/3. She told me that's not how it works and that the installer would call 1/2 hour before arrival. Contradictory but I shrugged it off; after all, the appointment was confirmed, right? Not so fast... Friday 12/3 arrived. At 7:30 AM my plumber arrived and pulled the gas stove in the kitchen. He also removed the toilet (which was getting replaced with a new one). He was done and gone on time and fast. Then...you know how you just get "that feeling"? I called Empire at 9:30 after not hearing from anyone. I did not talk to anyone live and had to leave a message. At about 10:00 AM a person who identified himself as the "Install Manager" for the Boston office called. He told me that his installer went home sick and that the job was cancelled for the day. I was very surprised that a nationwide company such as Empire did not have a backup plan. He knew I was unhappy and I made it clear to him that I now did not have a toilet and that my house only has one bathroom. He told me that he could have someone to my house to do the install on Sat 12/4 at around 8AM. Having no choice, I asked no less than three times, "can I be assured of this". The answer of course was "yes, I assure you" (to paraphrase). The reality? The true answer was no. No one showed up at all on Saturday 12/4. I exchanged numerous phone calls with customer service and finally advanced it to a supervisor named Anna. She was a gem in this minefield and did her best to help me over the course of the entire day Saturday, to no avail. Even she was flabbergasted about the situation. We're on to Monday, as Empire does not work on Sunday. Monday was like Groundhog Day. The exact same situation, numerous phone calls, and again another no show. Mind you, this is now day 4 without the Porcelain God, and nerves are pretty frayed at this point. In the interest of some disclosure, we didn't hold it for that long, thankfully we have very good neighbors. But what an imposition! A truly crappy situation, one might say... Today is Tuesday and it was the final straw. I called Anna immediately after 7AM and told her that if I didn't hear from anyone in the install department by 9AM, I was cancelling and demanding my deposit be refunded. She understood and emailed these mystery people I have never had any interaction with....Of course 9AM arrived with no results. I called her back at about 9:10 and advised her of my intent to cancel and my demand to be refunded my deposit. She understood and got to work on the refund. Funny thing is, amazingly, this now apparently got the attention of someone in the install department! Suddenly and magically there was an installer available to do my work, as Anna advised me at about 9:40 AM when she called me back. I told her the only way I would agree to having them come at this point would be if Empire waived any and all labor charges. 4 days with no toilet and 3 wasted vacation days from work to be present for people that never showed up warranted such a compromise, I felt. Anna agreed to relay that information and call me back as soon as she had an answer. Well after an hour with no return phone call, that was it for me. I left to go in search of a new installer, which will be a small business with a door I can walk in and talk to real people. While driving there, much to my amazement, I got a call from the installer who said he was on the way! I told him he would not be coming to my house and gave him brief synopsis of why. I then got another call from Anna asking me if I had received a call. I told her that I sent the installer home and that I was done, assuming that Empire would not honor my request as I had never received a call back regarding that. She indicated to me that they would offer $100 off. Not good enough. I'm done, and I'll fight them tooth and nail for the refund if need be. I also filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, in which my resolution request is for the full refund of the deposit. This was my multi-day disastrous experience with this company. Here is my experience with Empire Today thus far. The salesperson was prompt and knowledgeable and brought in some great samples for us to look at. That part of the process was a breeze, so we ordered the carpet installation. I received a couple of calls in advance of my appointment to confirm the visit and on the planned day of installation (yesterday), I received an automated call at 7:30 a.m. saying that my carpet had been put on the truck and the installers were on their way, but needed to make one stop first so no ETA could be provided. At 3:30 in the afternoon, I called customer service to get an idea of whether they were actually going to show up. I was assured that they would be there by 6 pm and a message was reportedly left with the installer to give me a call to let me know what time they would be here. I also asked that the salesperson be left a message to contact me. Apparently, the salesperson's voicemail was full so this could not be accomplished. I received no call from the installer and they did not show up. I contacted customer service again this morning and I explained what had happened yesterday and asked where we go from here. He put in a ticket to have someone look into it for me. I received a call a few hours later from a very rude woman indicating that I had never confirmed my appointment so it was never scheduled...not sure why I spoke with all those other people then and received a message saying my carpet was on the truck yesterday morning if I wasn't on the schedule. I had to reschedule for another day next week. My hope is that they actually show up this time...more to come. UPDATE: The carpet is installed! The installer called on the morning of the rescheduled install date to let me know he'd be there around 8:45 a.m., which he was. When he arrived, he told me that the job would take 4-5 hours, which it did. I am quite pleased with the job that he and his associate did. Getting real sick of this company. Initially my install was supposed to take place on June 21st and no one showed up so I called their office and they said it had been rescheduled due to lack of materials. Well that's fine but why did no one call me. Then they rescheduled for July 6th but the installer walked off the job. They rescheduled again for July 8th. I paid them for the install and some additional funds for some subflooring repairs that we were anticipating. They did the demo of the old flooring that day but never came back to do the new install. Someone called me on Monday July 11th for a follow up and when I informed them that the install wasn't complete they said someone would call me the next day. I never heard from anyone, so called to follow up on Thursday the 14th and they put in a ticket for someone to call back. Scheduled an appt for this past Friday morning, got a call the day before informing me that no was available to come out on that day, so I rescheduled for (today) Sunday morning 9-11.... 11:40 comes, no call no show. I call the office and I'm told that the appt. was taken from the original guy that was supposed to come out and given to another person to handle, ok so they try reaching the other person and he decides to not answer his phone, I ask for a supervisor/manager and get forwarded to a recorded line, informing that the office is closed. Since my business is not of value to Empire Today, I will happily take it somewhere else and will further advise a few friends who have also recently purchased homes and are also doing renovations to not waste their time. read more

I very strongly discourage anyone from using this company. Granted they may offer a better price however, the better price was not worth the issues I have been through and the poor installation I received. Besides not showing up on two different occasions, and not leaving me any extra flooring, I had a full page of items that needed to be corrected form the installation, nothing major but a lot of minor items (besides a 3'-0" long scratch they put in the new floor by carelessly moving a piece of furniture during install). To date the only way I was able to get anyone to get back to me (and I mean anyone, I reached out to 5 different people, including my salesman for assistance) was when they billed me for the balance I explained to the AR clerk that I would not pay until my list of open items was handled. At that point an eastern territory manager contacted me, and even had a commercial manager contact me as well, both promising me a person would be out to my house to see the issues, make up an inventory of what was needed to be corrected/fixed and finished. That was the last person I heard from. No one has called me to confirm they were coming, no one has given me a time that they will be at my home. This is no way to treat a customer, especially when there are simple items to be corrected. Looking back paying an extra $1,000 - $2,000 on new LVF from a far more reputable, local company, would have been worth the additional money than the wasted time and aggravation, as well as the poor job that the installers did. Again, I strongly suggest that you look into other companies. This was a mistake for me to use them. read more

I cannot tell you how utterly HORRIBLE my experience has been with Empire Today (Boston office). The ONLY good part about it was meeting the salesperson, Tom. Very knowledgeable, professional and helpful. I never ever give a business a bad review, even if I had a bad experience; this is my first time. I am not going to bore you all with the details......bottom line - FORGET THEM! Go somewhere else........you'll save yourself so much frustration. Sure wish I read these reviews, prior to pulling the trigger on this order. Customer service is the worst!!! Sales guy was nice enough, of course, and told me he could have the work started the next day. I got an email on 5/15, confirming they would start on 5/16. About 3pm that day, I called and they told me it was my fault for not calling to confirm, and that nothing was scheduled. ??? I'm sorry, that email wasn't a confirmation??? Sure said it was. Fine, no problem. Scheduling mishap, it happens. Even though I had to rearrange my job, my dogs, and my family obligations. They arrive mid-morning on Friday 5/19 ... guys were here until 9:30pm and assured me I would be the first stop on Monday 5/22 to finish the floor on the 2nd floor and all the molding. Received my confirmation call on 5/22 at 8:53am that the installers were "on the way". 10:30am, I called just to "confirm" the confirmation, and customer service assured me they would be here by 11:00am. When I called at 11:40am, they advised me that now .. they would arrive between 4pm and 7pm. So, screw my job (again) and my kids, and my dogs ... Now, that I'm reading all the post installation issues, I'm TERRIFIED of what more can possibly come of this experience. Oh .. and that 50/50/50 ... SUCH B/S .... Douche bags. You call and they won't give you a price over the phone. They insist on sending someone to the house. The guy shows up, gives his song and dance and then asks if you want the flooring installed tomorrow. When you say that, no, you'd like to think about it, he gets annoyed and asks why a person would call a next-day flooring service and then not want them to come the next day to install. Well, douche bag Empire Today guy, I wanted a QUOTE. I wanted to know HOW MUCH IT WOULD COST me, then I'd want to discuss it with my husband. The people over the phone WOULDN'T GIVE ME A QUOTE. Despite not having that vaguely-sexy, brunette Carol Vessey clone in their commercials, we called Empire to install carpet and tile in our living room. We had a fantastic experience with them. Their salesforce and their installers are all contractors, so you may not have the same experience we did. But everybody is graded by customers and Empire solicits feedback pretty aggressively. So they are accountable and, according to what I've read and been told, assigned jobs based on how well they do. Based on a recommendation from neighbors who recently used Empire, we went online on Friday and scheduled an appointment for a two hour window Monday evening. Our salesman, Alan A, called ahead to tell us he would be there in 30 minutes and he arrived right on time. He took measurements and helped us select tile and carpet. He quoted us a price and then worked with us on a discount because their current promotion was for multiple rooms. When we said we would need to do some more research he went "car dealer style" and called his manager to get a deeper discount. He got it. Be ready to haggle! Satisfied with the price, we scheduled installation over two days - one for the tile, one for the carpet - the following Saturday and Monday. They couldn't do next day because it was 9:30pm when we did our paperwork but would have been available Wednesday. We needed a couple of days to prep the room, though. They do move furniture (at a ridiculously low price of like $.08/sq. ft.) but will not move electronics, decorations or "large pieces" like pianos or pool tables.) Both teams of installers showed up on time, worked quickly and efficiently and were respectful of us and our home. Everything was handled with care and put back where it came from. I was surprised with how professional they were and how well they were able to accommodate us throughout the process. Our tile was done in two shifts (one to remove carpet, lay plywood and set the tile; one to grout) over about 3 hours. The carpet was done in about an 1.5 hours. Only time will tell if the quality of the carpet will come to bear but we expect the best and think that Empire should at least be on your list of companies to get a quote from. read more

Because of the reviews on this page I did not use Empire. I only read the reviews after we got an estimate. The salesman did come and was prompt. I really couldn't tell anything about the carpet. We were choosing a berber for a high traffic area - but the salesmen really did not tell us about the carpet and that it was this great product. What prompted me to write this review is the call from Empire today. I told Empire that because of bad review on both yelp and Angie's List that I could not in good conscience proceed. I did not say it angrily but rather "Hey I am sorry but this is why I could not go forward with your company." The Empire customer service rep then decided that he was going to try and argue with me about yelp and Angie's List. I had to end the call saying - You called me. I am not trying to start a fight just give you feedback. I am not buying the carpet from you . But here is the thing: Who thinks that trying to be argumentative with a customer is a way to win business? Empire, you only made me feel better about my decision. read more

They rescheduled me twice once they said family issues come to found out not enough staff... and again this week person had car trouble! I told them to cancel my order and they said I would not get back my deposit because did not cancel within 3 days . Bad service Run from them for sure save your money go to local dealer ! read more

Empire has to be the worst company I have ever dealt with. Our sales rep showed up on time, made the process easy and told us not to worry about anything - great! Turns out he never notified Empire or the installers that we have a fireplace in the room for the new flooring. Come install day, the installers tell us they can't do this. We are now left calling our sales rep and Empire directly to get someone back in here to finish the floor/molding around our fireplace. Empire seems like they are so sorry and will fix this situation right away. After days of calling and calling, they tell us they can either glue the molding onto a BRICK FIREPLACE or give us $150 to fix it ourselves. What a joke. This company is full of complete idiots. After more back and forth phone calls, they finally say they'll send a "specialist" for this thing. It's been 3 weeks since the initial job started and 1 week of the "specialist" blowing us off saying there are other flooring "emergencies". At this point I'll never get my flooring job finished. VERY DISAPPOINTED with my Empire Today experience. The sales rep came out and quoted us a price for several different rooms in our house - I was ready to book them for two of the rooms but told the rep I'd need to talk to my husband about the rest of the job. The rep said that would be no problem - that I could just call him anytime prior to the install date and he would be able to add the rest of the job to my order. I tried calling multiple times and each time was told he was busy with another customer but would call me later - he never called. Finally I expressed my concerns that the install date was approaching and he still hadn't placed my order and he replied that it was now "too late". The next day I had the two rooms carpeted by the "professionals" at Empire who unapologetically destroyed my baseboards. I called to complain about both the baseboards and the lack of response by my sales rep and was told they would send a different rep out the next day so that I could have the rest of the job completed... They sent the same rep and he quoted me a price that was almost $200 more than he had originally quoted!!! I had to negotiate to get the price down (which he said was higher because he had to come out twice - his fault!!!) and I ended up agreeing to pay $50 more just to be done with it. Empire offered me a measly $75 to compensate for two rooms of destroyed baseboards which is a net of $25 given the $50 increase in price for the rest of the job. After numerous phone calls they are now giving me $150 (net of $100) which still doesn't even come close to the cost of replacing my baseboards nor does it compensate me for the hours of time wasted with sales reps (and their two hour windows for arrival time) and two installation dates. I would never recommend this company to anyone!p Update: the installers were scheduled to come today between 12:00-2:00 to complete the remaining portions of the job... It is now after 3:00 and they still aren't here. I called to find out what was going on and was told they were running late - no phone call to let me know, no apologies. Horrendous customer service. I guess I will continue wasting my day awaiting their arrival. read more

However, the carpet that I got was CHEAP and POOR quality, not the color that I wanted.
