Online I signed up 4 carpet install but needed it in 2 homes, so I called cust svc (CS). They did it for me. The day they were sked, I hadn't rcvd confirmation so I called them. The rep told me I hadn't asked for a confirmation (which I thought that I had) & when I asked about the 2nd home she said the first rep didn't enter the info in the right area, so they didn't know if the tech could. They said that the tech reviews the info, so I figured he should've seen it. The rep contacted the tech & but he was w/ a customer & couldn't ask him about it but he was to be at the other home in 30*45. I rushed out the door to make sure I was there in case he came early. As I was driving there, I missed a call. When I pulled in I called back to hear he was now going to be 30 mins. OUTSIDE my 2 hour window. I was upset that I had rushed over. I asked them to check he would do both estimates & but they said he had car issues & wasn't coming at all. They offered me $50 to resked, I explained I was angry & didn't want to answer yet. A few days later I was called back. When I explained the situation, the CS rep put in a complaint. I was then offered $150 to resked & get a new tech. I agreed. I asked for the confirmation call. I came home early to meet them, but about 30 mins before the end of my window, I contacted CS. They reached out to the tech & he was across town & wasn't sure when he would make it there. I was furious & told the rep to check the notes on me. Hewas aware & apologized & asked if I wanted the tech to come or to resked. I told him I would never reschedule. I said that the tech could call me when he was on his way & I would let him know if I wanted him to come b/cI wasn't going to put the whole evening on hold for him. The next call I received was to tell me the tech was outside my home around 8:30 pm. I hurried there & met w/ him. He told me he had told his mgr before our time he was across town & that they needed to send someone else. He showed me the text messages. I felt bad & explained that I understood. I was upset w/ the lack of respect for our time that his company had. We came back to my other property & he showed samples. I told him the other property was to be a rental & I didn't want to put in high quality. But he showed me the high quality carpet. Then the next highest quality carpet. Then the sales tactics. What a deal, I won't charge you sales tax & it will save you a ton even though before I showed you the price per month w/o that. He even calculated like 400 sqft of waste, which talking with others seemed like a high amount to them & they said avg was 10%. I told him to email me the quote so we could compare them. We needed to pray & discuss the options. He pulled the, your best price will be today, tactic. Then when I was firm in my decision he decided to show me the builder's grade option that I asked for in the beginning. I stuck with wanting the email & confirmed that he had my email address. His body language showed that he was either tired (at this point it was around 10pm) or mad that I didn't say yes to the high quality carpet & be done w/ it. Oh, & the contract. He kept trying to get me just to sign the contract. He told me I could cancel anytime before the install. I asked to see the contract. It is an Empire specific form which states I have 3 days from the above date to cancel. He said that it says that, but really it is anytime & they don't fill out the date. I told him if that is the case, then it should say what he says b/c it wasn't a generic form & Empire should put I can cancel anytime before install b/c he could put any date in there. I was not comfortable w/ that, so I repeated myself that we would just take the emailed quote. I guess after that he was done because he got up and packed his stuff up. He turned and walked to the door. I never heard him say anything like thank you, good bye, nothing. My daughter even made the comment that I must've made him mad because his face when we left. A few days passed and I still hadn't seen his quote. I contacted the customer service rep and explained to her the circumstances. She contacted the technician. She didn't seem to care about the quality of care that we received. Then she told me that the tech didn't have the ability to email from his tablet and that she could just tell me what I needed to know and did I want to schedule an installation. I told her I didn't believe that the information was going to do me any good because I saw no reason that I would be needing their services. BEWARE read more
