Being a long time customer, I would like to give the management at The Emporium a chance to respond to the false advertising that happened recently at their venue in San Francisco on 6/13/26. I tried to avoid writing this review by contacting the venue directly but have yet to see a response, so here we are. They had multiple pages on their website saying they are showing all the World Cup games for free, including the game I attended on June 13th. None of the pages I saw mentioned a cover charge for this game. (See the attached screenshots). Also, they had posted similar ads on their social media accounts saying that they are showing the games for free. So after waiting 20 minutes in line for the Brazil vs. Morocco game with no prior warning I was informed there's a $25 dollar entry fee at the door. The game had already started due to the extremely slow door management even though I showed up ten minutes early to get in on time. I just payed the cover because I didn't want to miss any more of the best match for the group stage, and didn't know where else I could go nearby. Once inside the promoter showed the game on a low definition satellite stream that was choppy throughout, and kept cutting out completely, missing parts of the game. On top of all that the promoter was charging $20 for feijoada, which basically is rice, beans, and some meat on top. This seemed draconian considering the ridiculously high price of entry for a game viewing that other venues all over the city showed for free. I went on 6/13 for the Brazil v. Morocco watch party. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When I arrived, the line was out the door and around the corner, so I was really excited to come here for the game![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] However, it seemed like the event was misinterpreted and I ended up going elsewhere to watch the game. I was in line for about 10 minutes and it didn't move, which isn't a huge issue because the line was crowded. The girl behind me went to see what was happening at the entrance. She came back and said they were charging $25 per person to enter. She also mentioned that Emporium's system was down and they were accepting Zelle payments instead of card payments. This was extremely confusing as the flyer advertised that all World Cup matches would be shown on the 50ft. screen and entry would be free. We were pretty annoyed by this since we drove up from the South Bay. I wish communication on the flyer and on the website had been more clear. It also would've been helpful had someone from Emporium went outside to inform everyone in line that there was a fee for entry and that their system was down. Thankfully I was only in line for about 15 minutes and was able to Uber over to Hi Tops to watch the game. One of my favorite spots to go to with new friends, old friends, big parties, and small hangouts any day of the week--the Emporium is always a fun space on Divisadero with lots of seating, neon lights, and things to do! They have a lot of events that they promote on their Instagram page--I usually go on Service Industry Night on Mondays for free tokens if you work in the service industry but there are also anime nights and furry nights if you're into that! It's also a fun space to watch any sports games on that comically large screen. There are lots of retro games on the bottom floor, mainly for 1-2 players. There are also tons of pinball machines, a DDR machine, 2 skeeballs, and 2 basketball hoops. My favorite games are Killer Queen (a 5v5 team-based game with 3 rounds) and Pac Man (a sit-down 4-person classic Pac-Man game). If those games aren't your cup of tea, they also have a few pool tables, foosball, and air hockey tables. And if THOSE aren't your cup of tea, on the higher floor has another bar and larger seating area to just chill. There's a great selection of local beers and drinks. Highly recommend coming here, especially on a random week night. Weekends can get very packed and more of a loud club-vibe. Definitely worth the trek to Divisadero! read more

Haven't been here in ages and was pleasantly surprised to have as much fun as I did. The barcade offers a great assortment of nostalgic games, including air hockey, street fighter and the NFL basketball shooting game that my inner child very much appreciated. Bartenders and bouncers were friendly. ID checks at the door before entry. Drinks are normally priced-- $12 for a dirty Shirley. They have a good mix of games in there. Air hockey, pool, foosball, ski ball, dance dance, revolution, some driving games, and Mario kart. There were some games that we really wanted to play, but people were taking turn after turn on them and hogging them for over an hour, so we weren't able to. The games that we did play were good, everything was in working order. Some of them are free to play . In my opinion, they have too many pinball machines, and nobody is using the pinball machines. You can use card or cash to get tokens from the token machine. We got $15 worth of tokens which was enough for the two of us to play several games for about 2 1/2 hours. The whole bar was decorated for Halloween, they really went all out. They were playing Ghostbusters on the big screen at the back of the bar. Several different sports and news channels play on the TVs on the side walls. My only critique is that I really wish they would turn the music down just a little bit. In terms of arcade bars, Emporium has got to be one of my favorites! This place is a massive, has tons of old school arcade games, pop-a-shot, pool and air hockey. They use special tokens and you can get it from their token machine. It takes cash or card which is nice, Apple Pay for the win. The pop a shot kinda old though and not the super shot brand, but it does what it needs to do. The bar is pretty big and bartenders are quick. They have a beer a shot special which is a great deal and their frozen drink selections are pretty tasty. This spot is great for large groups and gatherings. This place was awesome on a Sunday night. Bright and spacious inside with 3 floors of entertainment, no crowds, no waits. The top floor had mainly seating, but also 2 pool tables a couple arcade machines at the corners, and a bar that was closed during our visit this past weekend (the bar on the main level was more than sufficient). I liked the variety of games available, from air hockey to classic arcade games. There were plenty of pinball machines, and we had fun playing the Guardians of the Galaxy and Foo Fighters themes. We enjoyed some skeeball and hoops as well. The pool tables were free, so we had a good time playing a couple rounds. I also, of course, won at shuffleboard against my partner, as usual :D For drinks, we had the bourbon breakfast old fashioned, green warhead sour slushie, peach margarita slushie. All of the drinks we tried were delicious, topped off with sour/gummy candy, and fairly strong in alcohol. The bartenders provided excellent service. The games are pretty fun, but the only downside is the waiting for each game especially on a busy night, but I guess that's what makes it fun when you're with a bunch of friends just hanging out waiting for your turn to play games. They have basketball hoops, game machines, big four in a row, air hockey, driving games, etc. There's also a taco truck and the hotdog street stand parked right outside this place when I went which made food more accessible after a fun night out. My favorite part is their photobooth inside... You also purchase tokens to play their games (I suggest bringing cash just in case the apple pay on the machine doesn't work) but they also have an ATM inside anyways. Walked by this place a while back and realized I had to come back and visit! It's basically an arcade with alcohol. Pool tables, shuffle board, video games, pinball machines, alcohol, multiple bars, a DJ, and more. All the mix drinks were premade and came out of a tap from the bar, but were still yummy. I was reminded when I was younger, wandering arcades, trying to find money and free games. I found myself doing the same thing and having some success! Played a bunch of games for free.... With that said, some games were not in the best of shape. Time Crisis 4 gun wasn't working, but was good to see that game again. Came here on a Saturday night to celebrate two friend's birthdays. Stephanie was a great help with planning this out with one of my friends. We got to reserve a table for 3 hours that seated for 12 on the top floor for free. You can bring in outside food and the ask is that you clean up after yourself! Many people will have extra tokens as they are leaving or you'll find loose ones on the floor/tables. Make sure you have your I.D with you and pictures will not work. No entrance fee but there is a bag check. DJ and the music were fun vibes! Cons: * bathrooms were disgusting. * pool tables were dirty and stained A major con of the night was when i fell going down the stairs near the entrance and sprained my right ankle. I don't drink so i was totally sober and had only been there for 20 minutes when it happened. I heard from others that they too stumbled in the same area so maybe going forward there should be more lighting. After going to the injury clinic the next day, i have a moderate sprain where i will need to wear a boot for 4 weeks. My bf was able to ask one of the bar tenders for a bag of ice who was nice enough to chop it up. Parking is tight in the neighborhood so I recommend car pooling and doing a ride share. I have been here once before years ago and i had so much fun! Sadly, the night didn't reflect my memories of this place. read more

Fun spot where you can play games and grab some drinks and food. Went here during Halloween weekend. Bartenders were amazing and a delight to be around. Some games are free and some you need to get tokens to play. Very fun atmosphere. Will definitely come back sometime soon. read more
