My coworker was looking for a place to go out where there would be games and drinks and came upon this place. It was definitely a great find. DRINKS Thai iced tea slushie tasted like desert in drink form and was delicious. Nick the bartender was so accommodating and did a great job helping me decide what to order since there were a couple of options I was eyeing. The drinks were average price. SERVICE Great, the games were self service and the bar tops were manned so you just head over when you want to get a drink. AMBIANCE It was a very chill and free flowing environment. The place is a vintage theater turned into a barcade, and I love what they did. It's so spacious, has multiple floors, and the high ceilings make the space even more open. They have huge games on the top floor next to the bar which were so much fun! They had movies being projected onto a huge wall visible from every floor. There's music playing but you can still hear well enough to have a conversation. They had classic to new games. Some of them were free. I was unsure of how I'd like it before going but SO GLAD I went. Great for a fun date or just hanging out with your friends. I could also see it being a fun place to have a bday party. I've been here a handful of times, and it's generally been a good experience with each visit. It's a casual barcade. I love that it's multi-leveled and has high ceilings as it makes it feel more spacious, because it can get crowded. There is a wide variety of arcade games and pinball machines with various wait times depending on the crowd. They also have plenty of large screens all around that run games, movies, and or music videos. Drinks at the bar aren't bad and like others have mentioned, the bartenders can be a hit or miss. I've encountered several chill bartenders, others not so much. Same goes for the security at the entrance. Overall, Emporium is a fun venue to check out if you are in the area. read more

I stopped by here with some friends the other night! Emporium is always a fun time, but I wanted to leave a review this time because of this specific experience-- my friend was playing the basketball arcade game and her ring went flying off her finger. The security guy working on Friday night of Aug 14, 2026 literally went above and beyond to help us look for my friend's ring. He even climbed onto the game and also crawled underneath as well. Super sweet guy! Before we left, we also saw him come back with extra tokens to give to the people who got their game interrupted by him. Luckily we eventually found her ring, but I definitely wanted to leave a review to highlight his efforts. Additionally, I appreciate the free cold water that they provide & also the clean restrooms and no cover fee. I went on 6/13 for the Brazil v. Morocco watch party. When I arrived, the line was out the door and around the corner, so I was really excited to come here for the game! However, it seemed like the event was misinterpreted and I ended up going elsewhere to watch the game. I was in line for about 10 minutes and it didn't move, which isn't a huge issue because the line was crowded. The girl behind me went to see what was happening at the entrance. She came back and said they were charging $25 per person to enter. She also mentioned that Emporium's system was down and they were accepting Zelle payments instead of card payments. This was extremely confusing as the flyer advertised that all World Cup matches would be shown on the 50ft. screen and entry would be free. We were pretty annoyed by this since we drove up from the South Bay. I wish communication on the flyer and on the website had been more clear. It also would've been helpful had someone from Emporium went outside to inform everyone in line that there was a fee for entry and that their system was down. Thankfully I was only in line for about 15 minutes and was able to Uber over to Hi Tops to watch the game. I'd like to try visiting again on another day because the place looks super cool. Stopped by one night with my wife and my friend as we were looking for a bar and a good time. Once I saw that it had arcade games, I was already sold on going. They have a large variety of games from pinball, skeeball, head to head basketball, fighting games, racing games, and more. Emporium has give me some great memories. Not many times you see a bar with high reviews. They have a great mix of things to do, whether it is watch a Giants game, dance to their DJs, or just have some fun at their arcade downstairs - you can't go wrong with a good time here with some friends. One of my favorite spots to go to with new friends, old friends, big parties, and small hangouts any day of the week--the Emporium is always a fun space on Divisadero with lots of seating, neon lights, and things to do! They have a lot of events that they promote on their Instagram page--I usually go on Service Industry Night on Mondays for free tokens if you work in the service industry but there are also anime nights and furry nights if you're into that! It's also a fun space to watch any sports games on that comically large screen. There are lots of retro games on the bottom floor, mainly for 1-2 players. There are also tons of pinball machines, a DDR machine, 2 skeeballs, and 2 basketball hoops. My favorite games are Killer Queen (a 5v5 team-based game with 3 rounds) and Pac Man (a sit-down 4-person classic Pac-Man game). If those games aren't your cup of tea, they also have a few pool tables, foosball, and air hockey tables. And if THOSE aren't your cup of tea, on the higher floor has another bar and larger seating area to just chill. There's a great selection of local beers and drinks. Haven't been here in ages and was pleasantly surprised to have as much fun as I did. The barcade offers a great assortment of nostalgic games, including air hockey, street fighter and the NFL basketball shooting game that my inner child very much appreciated. Bartenders and bouncers were friendly. ID checks at the door before entry. Drinks are normally priced-- $12 for a dirty Shirley. They have a good mix of games in there. Air hockey, pool, foosball, ski ball, dance dance, revolution, some driving games, and Mario kart. There were some games that we really wanted to play, but people were taking turn after turn on them and hogging them for over an hour, so we weren't able to. The games that we did play were good, everything was in working order. Some of them are free to play . In my opinion, they have too many pinball machines, and nobody is using the pinball machines. You can use card or cash to get tokens from the token machine. We got $15 worth of tokens which was enough for the two of us to play several games for about 2 1/2 hours. The whole bar was decorated for Halloween, they really went all out. They were playing Ghostbusters on the big screen at the back of the bar. Several different sports and news channels play on the TVs on the side walls. My only critique is that I really wish they would turn the music down just a little bit. This place was awesome on a Sunday night. Bright and spacious inside with 3 floors of entertainment, no crowds, no waits. The top floor had mainly seating, but also 2 pool tables a couple arcade machines at the corners, and a bar that was closed during our visit this past weekend (the bar on the main level was more than sufficient). I liked the variety of games available, from air hockey to classic arcade games. There were plenty of pinball machines, and we had fun playing the Guardians of the Galaxy and Foo Fighters themes. We enjoyed some skeeball and hoops as well. The pool tables were free, so we had a good time playing a couple rounds. I also, of course, won at shuffleboard against my partner, as usual :D For drinks, we had the bourbon breakfast old fashioned, green warhead sour slushie, peach margarita slushie. All of the drinks we tried were delicious, topped off with sour/gummy candy, and fairly strong in alcohol. The bartenders provided excellent service. In terms of arcade bars, Emporium has got to be one of my favorites! This place is a massive, has tons of old school arcade games, pop-a-shot, pool and air hockey. They use special tokens and you can get it from their token machine. It takes cash or card which is nice, Apple Pay for the win. The pop a shot kinda old though and not the super shot brand, but it does what it needs to do. The bar is pretty big and bartenders are quick. They have a beer a shot special which is a great deal and their frozen drink selections are pretty tasty. This spot is great for large groups and gatherings. Emporium Arcade Bar was a lot smaller than I anticipated, but overall, my boyfriend and I had lots of fun! I grew up absolutely LOVING Chuck E. Cheese, and this was a really nice throwback to those days (minus the screaming kids and scary animatronics). You get 40 tokens for $10, which I think is a pretty good deal, compared to other arcade bars, like Dave & Buster's. The arcades were REALLY loud (a little too loud for someone like me, who can get overstimulated really easily). We loved skee-ball, air hockey, and hoops here, but my FAVORITE was the pool table. My girlfriend and I traveled to the Bay Area for a wedding and decided to visit some friends during our trip. They recommended for us to come here. Besides the typical Bay Area parking, we efficiently made it here on a busy Saturday night. Drinks were strong and the arcade games were very affordable. Love this place! How can you say no to classic arcade games and decent cocktails?! What a perfect combo! Also love how it is inside a classic theater. Though not in use as a theater, it is where the DJ performs and when sport events are on, there is a big screen that shows the games. Two floors - bar on each level and games. This place is not for actual arcade enjoyers. Part of the appeal of arcade games is being able to hear them and it was unbelievably loud. I guess it's cool it's like a club, but in my opinion it should just stick to a theme. We came to play DDR extreme, but we're disappointed to find an extremely neglected and poorly placed machine with the buttons not working, and the arrows on the pads not working either. On top of that, the dance pads are audibly sticky from people spilling alcohol on them. In my opinion this place does not care about the games- it was pretty disappointing. Attended a holiday party where the venue was rented out for a few hours. Had a great time, the drinks were strong with an open bar that offered a mixture of holiday cocktails, mocktails, and standard drinks. The games are pretty fun, but the only downside is the waiting for each game especially on a busy night, but I guess that's what makes it fun when you're with a bunch of friends just hanging out waiting for your turn to play games. They have basketball hoops, game machines, big four in a row, air hockey, driving games, etc. There's also a taco truck and the hotdog street stand parked right outside this place when I went which made food more accessible after a fun night out. My favorite part is their photobooth inside... You also purchase tokens to play their games (I suggest bringing cash just in case the apple pay on the machine doesn't work) but they also have an ATM inside anyways. Came here on a Saturday night to celebrate two friend's birthdays. Stephanie was a great help with planning this out with one of my friends. We got to reserve a table for 3 hours that seated for 12 on the top floor for free. You can bring in outside food and the ask is that you clean up after yourself! Many people will have extra tokens as they are leaving or you'll find loose ones on the floor/tables. Make sure you have your I.D with you and pictures will not work. No entrance fee but there is a bag check. DJ and the music were fun vibes! Cons: * bathrooms were disgusting. * pool tables were dirty and stained A major con of the night was when i fell going down the stairs near the entrance and sprained my right ankle. I don't drink so i was totally sober and had only been there for 20 minutes when it happened. I heard from others that they too stumbled in the same area so maybe going forward there should be more lighting. After going to the injury clinic the next day, i have a moderate sprain where i will need to wear a boot for 4 weeks. My bf was able to ask one of the bar tenders for a bag of ice who was nice enough to chop it up. Parking is tight in the neighborhood so I recommend car pooling and doing a ride share. I have been here once before years ago and i had so much fun! Sadly, the night didn't reflect my memories of this place. read more

One of my favorite spots for a guaranteed fun night out in SF!! This place is such a cool vibe. I think it used to be a theater, because they have a massive projection screen that they play movie clips on in the main arcade area. There are two bars, one downstairs and one upstairs. The downstairs one has a bigger selection of drinks. There's also a DJ and dance floor! The drinks here are cheaper than most bars but they are STRONG. Especially the slushies. I've gotten two types of slushies here (one black one blue) and both have been crazy strong and also very sweet. They switch up their drinks seasonally though so maybe some rotations are better than others. There's such a huge variety of games here, from the classic pinball, pool, air hockey, foosball, pac-man, DDR (my personal fave) to newer ones like mario kart and other driving games, fruit ninja, etc. Each game costs a specific number of tokens, which you need to buy with cash. So don't forget to bring cash! $20 worth of tokens is more than enough to last a couple people the whole night here. Pro tip you can also scrounge the floors for tokens that people have dropped -- an easy way to get at least $5 worth of tokens if you look hard enough LOL. The lines for the games can get pretty long on a popular evening so just be prepared to wait a while for all the fun games! I really really love this place, and they even have Joust! However, the player two flap button on the Joust machine has been broken for over a year with no fix. I've mentioned it to them a couple times. Good thing they have other great retro games: Galaga, Ms. PAC-Man, Tetris, etc. One of my favourite things about this place, is the sound system.
